Still feeling pretty bleurgh if I'm honest, so I'm keeping my head down at work - not hard as I'm doing some fiddly stuff <technical term there >

This morning I also did some pruning. When I went to post the letter yesterday I noticed that one of our conifers is overhanging the footpath so I chopped some of it off. Anyone over 6’ 6” will still have to duck down though. Unfortunately the garden bin had been emptied but it will go next time.

Morning all. We have cloudy skies with patches of blue. I think it's due to clear though. I haven't got washing out, but there's so many things to do. We have visitors next week, and there's nothing like knowing you have visitors to make you look at your house with horror (even if you know that said visitors won't care). I'm tempted to go down the MN-spider route and just burn the house down to start again

Oh well. I shall do the 'little and often' tidying thing (which won't touch the sides), then panic and blitz everything. My new project details have arrived at last, so I shall be squishing my nose against a grindstone today.

Afternoon. Disappointingly cloudy all day.

Not too bad thanks LetUs. The nights are the worst, my ribs don’t want to lie down, so it’s difficult to get comfortable. I’ve done this before but I broke a rib then, I could feel it scraping . It’s not that bad this time.

It's good to the thorough LetUs - or that's what the HBFs always tell me
Apricot - poor ribs. I remember pulling rib muscles once and I couldn't sit up in bed, I had to roll onto my side and push myself up with my hands. I hope they heal up quickly.

I think we've had good weather, though to be honest I've been glued to my computer all day, and not noticed really.

We have '8 out of 10 cats'. I'd rather be watching the sewing bee.

Have been feeling better as the day went on so the hbf's clearly worked. Please send more to complete the recovery. And then you may as well send a few round on a regular basis as a preventative sort of thing

I hope you have a better night's rest apricot, that sounds really uncomfortable.

I feel like I missed all the good weather too helen - although I briefly did some gardening this evening - cutting back a shrub to make it easier to dig out. I will probably be moaning about an aching back when it comes to that part!

It’s Friday, the sun is shining, DS2 has an early appointment so I’ve been up early and trying to get him up, I had a shocking night’s sleep, and I am not in a Good Mood. I shall try to shake it though.

Morning all. Stress filled few days coming up. I've got a birthday cake in the oven for DS (that I won't have time to bake tomorrow). Then I'm setting up VillageEvent all day today and helping at it all bank holiday weekend. <wurble> Also, I have lost the birthday card that I got for DS, FML, argh, etc.

It's lovely outside though - sunshine and blue skies. And cloud.

Thanks for the sympathy wenches. Yes Helen that's what I'm doing in bed, but I can't put my weight on my hands because they're injured too, so it has to be my elbows. Anyway, you sound really stressed, hope the day has gone well and you found the card.

Work was not terrible and not as bad as it has been for the rest of the week so hurrah.

DS2 appointment went well and he was barely late for school, although I’d let them know about it.

The card turned up - hurrah! I have been on my feet all day and my back aches. I'm planning a bath despite it being late and I need to be up early. First world problems and all that!

Oh - the cake. FML etc - I went to get the cake out of the oven, and the cake was still raw inside. So I cooked it longer, and of course then it scorched <le sigh>. This evening I got the 'frosting' out of the fridge to ice the cake (having scraped off the scorched bits... ) Wenches, I poured the icing over the cake. <encore le sigh> It's not my most successful baking attempt, though it seems to taste nice enough. I don't think I'll use that recipe again.

Glad to hear that today went well LetUs. Hope that apricot's aches and pains continue to improve, and that wicked and Fancy* have also had good days.

<reclines in sun next to Apricot> Sunny and warm. Early visit to yarn place, then haircut, then not much else. Did some knitting outside but my hands started to get a bit sweaty and that’s not great when you’re using white wool, so I’ve been reading. Lots and lots of washing done.

Plan tomorrow is early start to do some baking and then get the ironing out of the way as I’m usually awake quite early. Tomorrow of course I will no doubt sleep until 8.
