Evening wenches.

When we were planning what day to have parents round for barbecue we looked at the three days and picked Sunday because it was the best one for weather. Turns out, not so much. Cloudy and breezy today. Still had a nice time though. Mind you, that toffee loaf’s not lasting as long as I thought it would. How strange Grin

Have also knitted today and done allllll the ironing. Tired now.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/05/2023 21:27

Evening all. Slightly earlier finish tonight. Best friend made me laugh when I was saying I'd been out the house at 8am and back at 9:30 - "Oh, just the hour and a half then?" Though it's been 7am for the past two days. Tomorrow is the last day though, so then we can all fall over and recover.

What a pain re. the BBQ LetUs Sad It's been nice here today, but getting cooler. I'll be wrapped up tomorrow.

<scoffs toffee loaf>
<flakes out in hayloft>

FancyFancy · 28/05/2023 21:28

Well that was a fine selection of faf <drools>
Did some work yesterday & some gardening - would be good if we could have some rain soon, maybe when I'm back at work...

Have been to see DS's new flat & then out to dinner with him - had some very nice noodles.

Will watch the final Queen Charlotte episode tonight, was amused to see Ryan Gage as George IV (to be) in this series, he's always a welcome addition.

LetUsPrey · 29/05/2023 09:28

Morning wenches.

Sounds productive but exhausting Helen. Have a slice of toffe…. Where’s it all gone?

That sounds a lovely way to spend a day Fancy. Ryan Gage was in some Endeavour episodes. Excellent as always.

Looks to be sunny again today. I have lots to do so of course I’ve been sitting here for ages with a towel on my head after my shower.

ApricotCrush · 29/05/2023 16:31

Afternoon. It looks nice outside but there’s a cool breeze. We’re doing a barbecue later, so I think we’ll have to wrap up warm.

We haven’t got round to Queen Charlotte yet.

Hope Helen finishes soon and can collapse.

Have a lovely evening all.

I really want some toffee loaf 😋

Had the weirdest dream, a really bloody action movie kind of dream, with Norman Reedus, so that was a bonus 😋Don't know where I got it from since I've been watching season 2 of Sanditon yesterday Hmm Lot of faf in that one btw, I have a weakness for Captain Fraser 😍

My blob was a week late and I was so happy, finally I got rid of it! But no, it surprised me this morning Angry

Hope all wenches are well 😀

LetUsPrey · 29/05/2023 19:10

Evening wenches.

<pops another toffee loaf in the oven>

Similar weather here Apricot. I did get some time on the sun lounger earlier thought to read. That ended when neighbours on each side had a sort of informal competition as to who could make the most noise for the longest period.

I’ve sewn up one baby cardigan which took sodding ages and it doesn’t even have buttons yet. I’ve other stuff ready for sewing up but not today as I’ve had enough of that.

Suitably mad dream Wicked Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/05/2023 20:25

Evening wenches. I am collapsed. LocalEvent is over, though there's still dismantling stuff that needs to be done. I am very pooped, but feet feel like a tenderiser has been whacking them, and I wish I had a whatnot to count how many steps I've done over the past 4 days.

So... <ReadsTFT>
Has DS got a flat with friends Fancy? Rain would be good, but there's none forecast here for the foreseeable Sad It's been cold here too- the winds is north-easterly, so brrrr! I spent this morning wrapped up in a scarf and hat (with everyone laughing at me) and it didn't really warm up until late morning. (We need some HBFs to keep us warm.) Hopefully the BBQ wasn't too chilly Apricot
Bonkers dream Wicked - well done Grin
FFS at your neighbours LetUs
<scoffs toffee loaf>

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 30/05/2023 07:15

Started season 3 of Sanditon, only one piece of FAF left, no men in uniform, where is my Captain Fraser? Not sure it's worth watching anymore 😐

LetUsPrey · 30/05/2023 07:43

Morning wenches.

When are you actually getting chance for a break Helen, or even just to sit down for a bit and recharge?

Just what’s the point of that Wicked?

Sunny here. DS2 has a revision class today so it’s to be hoped he doesn’t forget like he did last time.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/05/2023 10:44

Morning all. We have cloud.

Not much recharge time - woke up, fed cats and chickens, remembered deadline for freelancing... Also need to tidy house for visit. <le sigh> why can't we ever just keep the house tidy? Never mind.

FancyFancy · 30/05/2023 13:29

Afternoon
OOh, there are more series of Sanditon ww? I missed that! It is tosh, but hey, I need more of that after finishing Queen Charlotte.

Yes, DS has a flat share with a friend now, which is good. Flat is not as nice as his previous one but is bigger and it's better for him to be living with a friend I think.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 30/05/2023 13:51

Season 3 just started here Fancy Smile I really enjoyed season 2 Grin

ApricotCrush · 30/05/2023 16:41

Afternoon. Cloudy all day here. We’ve been planting the borders, well, I say we but I’ve only been making the holes because painful ribs, and DGS has been watering and DH doing the actual planting. On a side note I realised today that DGS is as tall as me! How did that happen? I know I’m shrinking but…Confused

I love those dreams where you’re in a movie WW. We watched season 1 of Sanditon I think and maybe season 2, but I can’t remember any of it now. Hmm

Yay for sewn up baby cardigan, flat share and LocalEvent being over.

Evening wenches.

Work was crap and then not too bad. Bonus of it already being Tuesday.

Houses untidy themselves Helen. It’s the only way it happens.

I’ve finished the latest series of Dalgliesh which was excellent. I’ve got Michael Palin on whilst I’m sewing up another cardigan. He’s in the Sahara on this occasion.

Do you think your ribs might be sore for rather longer than anticipated Apricot? I’m now the smallest in our house, have been for a while. Not that DS2 is keen on me giving him a kiss on the cheek, but I’ll have to stand on tiptoes to do it before long.

I think I’ll read for a bit and then head to bed.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/05/2023 23:04

Evening wenches.

I have been working and tidying and cooking and cutting DS's hair. Rock'n'roll, etc.

I think you must be right LetUs - there's probably a wormhole that empties clutter into our house. I expect there's a Doctor Who episode explaining how that happens. But that must be it. Nothing to do with us being untidy and rubbish at tidying up.

Good that DS has a flatmate Fancy - they can either motivate each other to be tidy or descend into a Young Ones pit of filth Confused grin]. I have never watched Sanditon - is it a Netflix thing?

LetUsPrey · 31/05/2023 07:46

Morning wenches.

I would quite like a decent night’s sleep pleaseandthankyou. I would also like the world’s loudest pigeon to FUCK OFF away from my windows.

That’d be a fun episode of Doctor Who Helen.

Quite cloudy but hopefully it will brighten up for my early finish.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/05/2023 10:48

Morning. Also cloudy here.

Today will be a repeat of yesterday, except that we've finished doing all the clearing up from LocalEvent so there's none of that to do - hurrah!

ApricotCrush · 31/05/2023 17:30

Afrernoon. Cloudy and cold here. What happened to the sunny weather we were promised?

Dr Google says bruised ribs take 4 to 6 weeks to recover LetUs, but I knew that from the last time. Sad

I think Sanditon was on ITV Helen, but I don't know whether it's on catch-up.

In Muskie-news Angie has put Athos's pauldron on eBay. TB gave it to her for the fundraising they did.

Evening wenches.

That’s an interesting listing should anyone wish to get their hands on Athos’s pauldron <tae>

Hurrah for finishing up Helen!

We finally got some sun this afternoon.

That’s a while Apricot. I say you should take it easy because it’s for your health so you should definitely recline (once the sun’s out) and do nothing more strenuous than a sudoku.

Took DS2 to the dentist, took him shopping but that failed. I’ve finished Ink Black Heart which I very much enjoyed. I’ve also been sewing up another cardigan which I’m not enjoying that much because it’s taking sodding ages.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/05/2023 23:33

Evening all. Been busy working and then cleaning, so I've not really even noticed what the weather's been doing.

Hmm at Pauldron - she hasn't licked the pattern smooth then Wink Wonder if she'll get any takers. Shame for her if she needs to sell it, but then again I don't know if she's at all active in the fandom any more - has other things occupying her time (the sprog must be a couple of years old now).

I'm trying (failing) to persuade DS to go to bed. He's busy playing his guitar. I have more tidying to do still... it may have to wait until tomorrow.

LetUsPrey · 01/06/2023 07:24

Morning wenches.

Hope you left the tidying Helen and got to bed for some rest.

Slept badly again with added nighttime. And now a headache. Fun times.

Cloudy again but not cold. Have to take DS2 shopping again this evening.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/06/2023 09:39

<cwtch> for bad night LetUs. I think I did leave the tidying and went to bed, apart from making up the spare bed. So that rooms' done and now it's just trying to clear the table and stuff.

DS needs new school shoes, le sigh, etc... We will also have to do shopping at some point. though his feet are so large now I think he's going to be in adult shoes <sobs, re-mortgages house>

ApricotCrush · 01/06/2023 17:57

Afternoon. Cloudy this morning but it’s brightened up this afternoon. I went to town to get supplies earlier, but I’ll take your advice tomorrow LetUs. Hope the shopping goes well this time.

No, she’s not active in the fandom now Helen. The website is still up but hasn’t been updated for years. She said it’s a shame the pauldron is just sitting in a drawer when she doesn’t have the space, time or money to get it mounted and displayed and it deserves a loving home.

LetUsPrey · 01/06/2023 21:05

Evening wenches.

Made several lists <nto> of things I need to do <nlt> and buy and organise. Then I didn’t do any of them because the sight of the lists frightened me. Tell a lie - got DS2’s suit for prom so that’s one thing off the list.

<passes extra sudoku books to Apricot>

Have done a bit more finishing off of knitted things. From now on I must be stern with myself and not start anything else until all sewing up and adding buttons and finishing off is done, because leaving loads to build up is a stupid stupid thing to do.
