Afternoon
It was sunny yesterday, but very windy. Still, a dry day after all teh rain was welcome.

Aw, fingers crossed for DS2 letus & plenty of vodka for you!

ApricotCrush · 16/05/2023 15:28

Afternoon. Quite pleasant out but still a chilly wind.

How annoying about the fridge freezer Helen.

Confused at Fancy’s local attraction.

DGD has her first exam today too, and three on Thursday which is her birthday. Not what you want really Hmm. Good luck to MiniLetUs.

LetUsPrey · 16/05/2023 20:58

Evening wenches.

Breezy and back to a bit chilly today. I even went back to wearing my Big Coat.

Thanks for the good luck wishes. He thinks it went okay and finished it so there’s that. Lots of luck to DGD Apricot. Three in a day - and on her birthday - is rather harsh.

<replenishes vodka stocks>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/05/2023 21:29

Evening all. The wind has been cold here too - I ended up wearing a hat and scarf which seemed ridiculous in the sun.

Exams and birthdays are cr@p - my niece has had the same. Glad that MiniLetUs feel ok about today's effort.

DH has ordered a new FridgeFreezer - hurrah. And also ouch at the cost Sad Today's moment of idiocy involved me dropping eggs on the floor. The chickens were happy though - scrambled eggs with shells in are right up their street. Grin And they're laying enough now that losing a couple isn't an inconvenience.

LetUsPrey · 17/05/2023 07:39

Morning wenches.

Ooops at dropped eggs but bonus for the chickens

Is sunny here but I shall not be fooled.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/05/2023 07:51

Morning. It's rather dull and uninspiring out there. And add the usual winge about being tired. I'd much rather go back to bed than drag myself out on the commute. Ho hum.

Hope everyone has a good day and it stays sunny for those with sun! (Fingers crossed for any miniwenches with exams)

ApricotCrush · 17/05/2023 14:46

Afternoon. Grey and dreary here. I spent most of the morning doing housework and not before time. Misty hates the hoover and scurries to the furthest part of the house away from it.

Good that he thinks the exam went okay LetUs. DGD said the same about hers.

Yay for new fridge-freezer Helen. Everything is so expensive these days.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/05/2023 18:46

Evening. It turned out quite nice here in the end. But I'm still knackered.

DH is currently stuck in some sort of online kafkaesque hell trying to sign DS up for a competition - the sort of thing where the website doesn't recognise your password and tells you to choose a new one - but then asks for your old password before you can change it. Confused

LetUsPrey · 17/05/2023 19:25

Evening wenches.

Turned out nice again <said in ye olde music hall style>

I wish MrHelen luck. I sometimes get caught in similar spirals at work with contacting companies. A particularly memorable one was
”what’s the policy number?”
“it’s <long number>”
“that’s not our policy number”
“I’m literally looking at much correspondence with you which quotes that number”
“do you have any other details”
“<provide details>”
“Yes, we have that, and what’s the policy number”
”<give same number>”
”that’s not our policy number so we can’t help you”

Two exams today which he says went quite well.

I’m rather ready for bed.

LetUsPrey · 18/05/2023 07:31

Morning wenches.

Bit dull here today but not raining so hurrah for that.

Just the one exam this morning for DS2. He says they’ve been okay so far.

Got a bit stuck with knitting last night so I undid that bit and will try again this evening.

Enjoy your days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/05/2023 07:47

Morning all. Same weather here. I'd like a bit more brightness since I need to get washing out on the line later, but no rain is the basic starting point Grin.

FancyFancy · 18/05/2023 12:47

Afternoon
Glad to hear the exams have been ok letus.

Had my first chance to hang out washing in the evening ready for the following day this week. Otherwise have been very dull - work and then home for some gardening & chores.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 18/05/2023 15:47

Day off today some religious thingy went food shopping and heard The Final Countdown on the car radio and thought of you Apes Smile

Worked a little bit for an hour or so and then went shoe shopping online.

Fräsan hates the vacuum cleaner as well Apes Sad

Glad your DS feels good about the exam Letus Star

ApricotCrush · 18/05/2023 16:54

Afternoon. Cloudy here but quite warm. Hopefully the cold wind has gone away.

Yay for day off WW. Smile at Final Countdown. We’ve been to two of their gigs, 15 years apart. They were fabulous live.

I’ve been doing clothing alterations today, shortening some jeans for DS and loosening some elastic on a dress for DD which has suddenly gone tight on her. Hmm These things always seem to come together.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/05/2023 20:43

It's a sewing day today then Apricot - I've been mending too. And weirdly, one things was also a problem with a shrinking elastic waistband. Confused Grin Also, note to self - simply putting clothes in the washing machine and selecting a programme doesn't make the machine start washing. FML. The washing will just have to stay on the line overnight to dry tomorrow.

Don't all cats hate hoovers? The wireless one is slightly more acceptable to the cats.

Hope everyone's had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 18/05/2023 22:06

Evening wenches.

Work is getting busier which will only increase next week as someone’s off and we cover for them. This is of course never reciprocated by anyone, despite how many different people we help. Same as it ever was.

I am already planning the weekend’s washing because the weather looks rather lovely. I’ve absolutely never done that Helen and then wondered why the wash was taking so long.

I had another go at the next bit of the knitting. It’s not perfect but it’ll have to do.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/05/2023 07:39

Morning all. CuteKitty is having a purry snuggle on me, so he will probably turn and try to bite my hand off shortly Hmm

Outside is a bit grey but not wet, and forecast to be a nice day. I got as far as pulling the washing out of the machine yesterday being a bit baffled as to why it was hardly wet. Honestly... I might put the towels through today since the forecast is good.

Fingers crossed for a good day for everyone, and minimal work for LetUs <hollow laughter>

LetUsPrey · 19/05/2023 07:42

Morning wenches.

Was expecting nice weather when it woke up so rain chucking it down was a bit of a surprise. Seems to have stopped for the moment.

Awwww at snuggly CuteKitty but still with that edge of danger.

DS1’s very last exam today. These last few years have flown. Doesn’t seem two minutes since we were fretting about university choices etc.

FancyFancy · 19/05/2023 16:09

Afternoon
Good luck to DS1 letus and hope DS2's exams have continued going well. FancyMan's DS is also doing exams at the moment, seems to be fairly happy with them so far, so fingers crossed that continues.

New local, erm, attraction continues to provide material for frothing on local FB pages - some pathetic sniping at the local MP from the opposition. It's not like I'm a fan of her or her party, but wtf she is expected to do I don't know, the issue is a massive national one.

Not all cats are scared of the hoover - FancyCat, unsurprisingly, completely ignores it unless I literally hoover the item of furniture she is sleeping on. And even then she will try to make it piss off by deploying her HardStareOfDisapproval and will only move if the hoover actually touches her Grin

ApricotCrush · 19/05/2023 17:13

Afternoon. Rain for most of the day with the occasional appearance of the sun. Good for the garden though.

Awww at snuggly CuteKitty. Well done to FancyCat for tolerating the hoover.

Good luck to everyone doing exams.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/05/2023 19:50

Absolute LOL at HardStareOfDisapproval - that would be enough to scare most things of tbf.

Shock at last exams, that's just...! Where has the time gone? Hope all other exams are going well for DCs.

I have spent the afternoon helping Dad and I'm a bit tired. I will be even more tired by Sunday night since I have two days of events to run/help at. And then three days over the bank holiday weekend <weeps gently> I should get an early night tonight. I sort of tried to last night, and fell asleep in the bath. So I obviously needed an earlier night than I got Confused

I'm also trying to update stuff on my work phone, which has mysteriously lost all knowledge of wifi passwords here, and is generally being an arse.

We've had sun all day here, so I'm please to say that yesterday's washing and todays have dried on the line.

LetUsPrey · 19/05/2023 20:15

Evening wenches.

Work can fuuuuuuuccckkkkk offfffffff.

Hope DGD’s exams are going well Apricot and it didn’t spoil her birthday yesterday. And that FancyMan’s DS is doing well too.

I can’t recall LetUsCat’s reaction to the hoover. I obviously didn’t use it that often anywhere near him Grin

Early night for you Helen <niagw> and I’m being stern about that.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/05/2023 07:06

Morning all.

It's an antisocially early start today, but the sun is out and it's rather pleasant outside, so that's a plus. there was an idiot deer in the chicken run this morning which I traumatised when I went in to feed them. I haven't actually checked the fence, but hopefully it went over rather than through. Confused

Have a lovely day all.

LetUsPrey · 20/05/2023 08:40

Morning wenches.

Sunny and warm today. One wash out and waiting for another to finish so I can put that out before I go out.

I know it’s probably a bit of a pain for the deer to have got in Helen, but it sounds a bit lovely.

Enjoy your days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 20/05/2023 17:05

Afternoon. Beautiful day. We went out to lunch to celebrate DGD’s birthday. She says her exams are going well, she’s got 13 more to do Shock although they are spread out.

On the way out I was taking a pic of the building as it’s somewhere we’ve never been before, and lost everyone. Then, trying to find them, with a combination of high heels, uneven ground and rushing, I went flying. It wasn’t the alcohol honest as I was driving. A kind man came to see if I was alright and then DH appeared wondering where I’d gone. I don’t know what hurts the most, my hand, the opposite wrist, my ribs or my knee. Hmm

Hope Helen’s events are going well and the deer escaped safely.
