Morning wenches.

Good to know that Paddington’s found a way to work off all those marmalade sandwiches Helen Grin

Was having a lovely dream about knitting, nothing spectacular, just quietly knitting. Then I woke and the realisation that I wasn’t quietly knitting was awful. Also, it’s raining! Again!

Short day today so that’s something. Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/08/2023 07:35

Urgh. Morning. It's a nice morning - sunny and dry (after last night's rain). But still - morning. Seasons of mists, etc etc. Definition of Autumn - I was out to feed the chickens before they were even out of the coop. Sensible chickens; stupid getting-up-for-work.

Also IdiotKillerKitty is being a pita and annoying IntelligentCat. <le enormous sigh>

ApricotCrush · 30/08/2023 16:54

Afternoon. Lovely sunshine this morning so I stripped the bed and got everything on the line. Of course then it rained so I had to get it all in. This afternoon was sunny again so everything dried and I had an hour sitting outside.

Aww at football strip for teddy. I did one for action man many years ago. Knitting really is relaxing. I’ve ordered the same wool that I’m using at the moment in another colour and intend to knit as much as I can to combat the winter blues.

We’ve had the light sabres as well Helen. I can’t watch. Shock

Evening wenches.

Knitting to combat the winter blues is such a lovely idea Apricot. It is very relaxing except when I go wrong

I’ve got a wash out after work as it’s hopefully dry for a bit and rather breezy.

<glares at IdiotKillerKitty>
<realises this will have even less of an effect than glaring at a teenager>

I’ve made Biscoff flapjacks too after I got home. Don’t eat them all, they’re DS1’s favourite.

FancyFancy · 30/08/2023 20:35

Did someone say Biscoff?

Two days back at work, lovely to see people again. Well nearly everyone.....Bored of certain parts of the work already though 😂

Otherwise have been dull - fortunately as one set of athletic thighs disappear, another group appear - the Vuelta is on. Am also watching series 3 of Sanditon, not quite the same without that hot stubbly bloke from series 1 <sighs>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/08/2023 22:47

Evening all. We had a thundery torrential downpour this afternoon, just when people were starting to leave work, because sod's law and all that Grin It was over by the time I'd finished though.

We got a jar of Biscoff spread while we were on holiday - DS demanded asked nicely for a jar when we were doing a quick food shop.

Hurrah for the Vuelta, but boo for the lack of Sanditon's hot stubbly bloke

How's DS1 getting on with work LetUs?

LetUsPrey · 31/08/2023 07:29

Morning wenches.

I never got going with Sanditon. Might be something to try whilst knitting.

Good timing there Helen Grin DS1’s doing well thanks. Seems to be enjoying it (except for the travel but even that he doesn’t seem to mind too much), the people are nice, and he just got paid which he enjoyed even more!

Was just going to say it’s sunny here but now it isn’t. Hope wenches can stay dry and have good days.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/08/2023 07:40

Morning wenches. Sunny here too. I was awake far too late and am contemplating going back to bed. Though I'm not so good at getting back to sleep these days.

IdiotKitty is hungry but doesn't want that muck in his bowl, so he's wandering about chirruping and being general pest. Intelligent cat is watching carefuly from the arm of a chair. <side-eyes at IdiotKitty>

ApricotCrush · 31/08/2023 16:55

Afternoon. Miserable day, raining on and off.

Glad DS1 is enjoying his job LetUs. I remember my first pay packet, all £4.7s.6d of it. I saw it as a pair of shoes or clothes every week after I’d paid for my keep, but boyfriend/now DH had other ideas and wanted us to save for a house, which we did. Hmm

We never really got into Sanditon Fancy, perhaps we should try again.

Hope IdiotKitty is behaving himself.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 31/08/2023 19:29

Evening wenches.

Miserable day here also, even without rain.

Hope IdiotKitty decides that the menu offered by the house is acceptable after all.

Excellent way to see your wages Apricot, although I suppose saving was also a good idea. I’ve told DS1 to start saving if he can and to definitely start a pension. Although he may need to pay privately to have the recorder he’s found in the drawer surgically removed.

How is it that bank holiday weeks seem longer than usual?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/08/2023 20:55

Evening. KillerKitty came sauntering up the garden with a wren this evening Shock fortunately DH rescued it and it flew off (so small it fitted between KillerKitty's teeth?) He still refuses to touch the house menu, I suspect I'll be feeding that to the chickens tomorrow.

It's currently tipping down outside. <le squelch>

LetUsPrey · 01/09/2023 07:23

Morning wenches.

You’re not leaving this table until you’ve eaten what’s put in front of you KillerKitty! If you wanted a 1970s parenting vibe Helen Grin

Awake early again. I suppose it’s Friday <small cheer>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/09/2023 07:53

Morning all. TGIF etc. Raining here, which according to the forecast puts us in the centre of the country, because everywhere else is def. dry Hmm

We have friends visiting this weekend, so the house has been made more presentable than usual. (It won't last.)

Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 01/09/2023 16:40

Afternoon. Quite a pleasant day, no rain for a change.

I’ve mainly been catching up on various admin jobs today, it was all getting a bit out of hand.

Bad KillerKitty, hope the wren was alright.

Have a good evening all. Wine

LetUsPrey · 01/09/2023 20:55

Morning wenches.

Lots of stuff needs doing here too but I’ve metaphorically shut it all in a cupboard.

Don’t think we had rain. Accident on the way home which closed the main road between work and home (no one injured according to reports) so instead of about 35 minutes of a journey because still the holidays, it took over an hour and 15. I’m tired.

Have a lovely friends visit Helen.

Tomorrow will be getting DS1 sorted with clothes and trainers for college. DH kept saying it’ll all be fine when I pointed out the list of stuff to get. Oh will it be fine because I’ll end up sorting it says I. No, he says, I’ll take him out one evening. Guess what? Not done and he’s busy all tomorrow with stuff that can’t be changed, and I’m fretting if it’s all left until Sunday, it won’t all get done. So as per usual, I’ll fucking sort it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/09/2023 22:13

Evening all. FFS at useless people who say they'll sort things and then don't. <cbf> Why do they even bother?

Friends are here with their small person. They've all gone to bed and I'm very tired so I think I'll do the same once I've done wordle, etc.

Hurrah for the weekend <face-plants in the hayloft>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/09/2023 09:37

Morning all. It was sunny here, but has clouded over. <side-eyes at sunny weather forecast>. Today we will be going to the beach and generally out and about. I'm hoping the DS doesn't need anything for school - his blazer still fits, and I think everything else is still fine. Good luck with your shopping LetUs
How is the knitting going Apricot - are you happy with the yarn now?

LetUsPrey · 02/09/2023 11:16

Morning wenches.

Shopping has been semi-successful. He still needs another pair of trainers but DH can deal with that tomorrow. Most importantly he’s sorted for Monday morning. He was up, showered and dressed by about 6.30 today which is unheard of and his “grunt” noise (sort of a tic) is back so I can tell he’s quite anxious about it all which he’d never admit to. It’ll allllllll be fine.

Lovely day here. I’ve run out of space on the washing line.

Hope the weather stays fine for you Helen.

How’s the piano going Wicked?

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 02/09/2023 16:15

It's going great Letus! Haven't unpacked it yet Grin

Biscoff isn't a big thing here but I've seen two different kinds, plain ones and ones with Biscoff cream. Which ones are the best?

Started to wash the windows today, will continue tomorrow, my limbs aches.

We've had a lot of rain recently which have led to tons of mosquitos, I even have them inside the house, not that many but still. I put on a repellent before I got to bed.

❤for DS1 Letus.

I prefer season 2 of Sanditon Fancy, all those redcoats 😍

Hope the knitting is going well Apes.

Hop you had a fun day out Helen.

LetUsPrey · 02/09/2023 16:32

Grin Wicked. You’re obviously perfect at this stage then - no mistakes!

I’ve realised I put DS1 is getting all anxious and needs to be taken shopping etc. I did of course mean DS2 🤦🏻‍♀️. DS1 is mostly capable of looking after himself.

Any kind of Biscoff Wicked. Biscuits, spread either smooth or crunchy. It’s alllll delicious.

ApricotCrush · 02/09/2023 16:36

Afternoon. Nice day and the forecast for next week is good so I’ll be sorting out a load of once in a blue moon washing.

I’m going like the clappers with the knitting. It’s not quite how my original vision was, but DD likes it so I feel better about it now.

Eeeeek at mozzies WW.

I’m sure DS2 will be alright LetUs. It’s a big change for them so he’s bound to be a bit apprehensive.

Hope you’re enjoying your weekend Helen.

FancyFancy · 02/09/2023 17:25

Afternoon. DD is back for a couple of nights - so last night was pink 'n' Musketeers with added fish & chips. 😁She's off out with a friend later, so they're both here at the moment.

FancyCat is not herself - a bit lethargic and bloated. Off her food too - although she was very interested in my fish last night. I think she's trying to bankrupt me with vet bills.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/09/2023 20:54

Oh dear - fingers crossed that FancyCat snaps out of it Sad (How on earth can you tell she's bloated under all that floof?!) Lovely that DD has come home for a couple of nights though.

I am pooped. Was thinking I'd go to bed and then realised it's only 8:30 Shock It's only 8:30 and it's pitch black outside! Eeek. The beach was fun (the weather cleared up), company included a v. excited 3yo, but DH cocked up his social calendar and was busy with SportingActivity so I'm in sole charge of daytime entertainments and, lovely though it is to see people, I just want to chill out. Not an option with excitable 3yo. <le winge> Tomorrow there will be more beaching.

I'd spend all night swatting the mozzies Wicked - repellents don't do the job for me (or shut up the annoying whiney buzz they make).

LetUsPrey · 03/09/2023 08:46

Morning wenches.

Urrgghhh it’s all foggy outside.

Everything crossed that FancyCat picks up quickly. Perhaps she does have a secret pact with the vet and she takes a cut of the fees?

I’m so impressed with your “just see how it goes, oh look it’s just right” knitting Apricot. Finished the bear football kit. It actually fits and looks sweet.

Small children are alright in small doses when you’re not used to them Helen, but then like you say you want to chill out for a bit.

I must iron and visit and possibly/definitely knit.

ApricotCrush · 03/09/2023 15:34

Afternoon. Beautiful day, so washing and me are out in the garden. DH is still tatting with the wall at the front, but I think he’s nearly finished.

Yes, small children can be exhausting, bigger ones too at times. Hope you’ve managed to enjoy the beach Helen.

You finished that quickly LetUs, I bet it looks really cute.

Fingers crossed FancyCat is alright.
