Evening all. we have landed at holiday location #2. There's no phone signal, but the internet speed it still better than it is at home. It's also a bit damp.

Do you need an air blade Fancy? Cool you down and blow the bitey feckers away.

Hurrah for the project work-round Apricot and for the flapjacks LetUs <munches>

FancyFancy · 21/08/2023 20:26

All cooling solutions gratefully accepted thank you.

We had a couple of thunderstorms here last week, late afternoon/early evening so not the most spectacular but better than anything back home this year.

LetUsPrey · 22/08/2023 07:29

Morning wenches.

As expected the thunderstorms did not arrive.

Hope Helen and Fancy continue to enjoy their holidays.

We have sunshine again here but I suspect the day will go pretty much as yesterday.

Have lovely, peaceful days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 22/08/2023 16:32

Afternoon. Sunshine first thing here too but it didn’t last. It’s beginning to feel autumnal. Sad

Nothing much going on here except I looked out of the window earlier to see DH on top of a tree in the front garden. Shock It’s alright, he’s down now and not the quick way.

Hope the holidays are going well and everyone has had a good day.

Evening wenches.

Found something I’d typed up at work around seven years ago, explaining various issues we (NC and I) were experiencing and how it was affecting us. Such a relief to see what progress has been made and how seriously they took our concerns 🙄. Although that does also rather show that we’re still there and still taking it😟

Eeeeek at MrApricot up a tree but <snooort> at not the quick way.

Weather has been shall we say mixed today.

LetUsPrey · 23/08/2023 07:40

Morning wenches.

It’s raining but it’s a short day and I’m on leave tomorrow so whoop for that. Have got lots of niggly life admin jobs and appointments that need dealing with and fitting in (not tomorrow, just generally).

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/08/2023 10:00

Morning all. Hurrah for short days and being on leave. It's doing the damp thing here and DS is unenthusiastic about anything that doesn't involve him sitting on his phone watching YouTube <le sigh> We're trying to find dry-ish things to do, because there's nothing like planning your holiday in advance Hmm

Glad MrA made it down safely from the tree!

ApricotCrush · 23/08/2023 15:48

Afternoon. We had a bit of sun earlier, so I had a sit down outside and did a crossword, well, attempted to do one, as there wasn’t a sudoku in the magazine I took with me.

Nice to see they’re looking after you at work LetUs. Hmm

Hope FamilyHelen found something dry-ish to do.

Oooooooo, MN have introduced an edit feature. Yay!

Got back home late last night, had a lovely time and saw lots of interesting things - most of them lovely, but not all - we did go to Dachau which was not lovely as you would expect. Welcoming the slightly cooler weather here and catching up with the athletics today, so being a bit lazy.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/08/2023 18:01

Evening all. The weather turned out ok in the end, so we've had a 'waterfalls/steam trains/castles/grumpy teenager' day Hmm
Still, the grown-ups had fun. About to go an eat in the Best Pub Ever (in terms of the food - not FAF there, sadly).

OOOhhh! at 'edit'. Wonder if it works... <reader, it did!>

LetUsPrey · 23/08/2023 18:23

Evening wenches.

Spent the day feeling stupidly nervous about GCSE day tomorrow. There’s zero to be done about it now so feeling anxious isn’t going to do anything.

Pleased you’ve had a good holiday Fancy. Lazy day catching up with athletics sounds perfect.

No sudoku Apricot? How inconsiderate.

Your day sounds fun (except for the grumpy teen bit) Helen. Enjoy the meal.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 23/08/2023 18:52

Evening. Been out for a walk, feel a bit proud of myself.

Can I come with you next time Helen? Sounds fantastic!

Glad you had a good time Fancy. I’ve been to Auschwitz-Birkenau, interesting and horrible at the same time Sad

Confused at MrApes in a tree.

Yay for day off tomorrow Letus 😀

FancyFancy · 23/08/2023 23:56

Fingers crossed for you and miniLetus tomorrow letus

That does sound like a good day Helen, I love a good castle

Relieved to hear MrA is no longer up a tree

I know what you mean ww. I don't think there was much I didn't already know, but actually seeing the places does make it more vivid.

LetUsPrey · 24/08/2023 08:06

Morning wenches.

I really need to get out for walks.

DS2 not surfaced yet, although might have just heard him moving about a bit.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/08/2023 09:37

Everything* crossed for results LetUs*

**even legs, since it's just short term and the HBFs are noticeable by their absence.

Not sure if it's drizzling here, or if we're just in a cloud. Same effect anyway, which will make for a lovely drive home. Confused Also, my headache can FTFO. FFS.

LetUsPrey · 24/08/2023 10:05

Boooo to headache Helen

I can relax a bit. DS2 has got everything he needs in his GCSEs! He’s done so so well and I’m incredibly proud of him.

Annnnndddd breaaatthhhheee

FancyFancy · 24/08/2023 13:50

🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 Well done miniLetus ☺️

ApricotCrush · 24/08/2023 17:18

Afternoon. Cloudy but no rain here. I did Sainsbury's this morning and they'd got one of their 25% off when you buy 6 bottles of wine offers on, so of course I purchased. When I got home I checked the receipt and I hadn't been given the discount so looked online, and in the very small print it says bottles under £6 are excluded. It's always £5 and there was no indication in their banner. The cashier must have realised but never warned me. I've complained! Angry

Very well done to MiniLetUs. Star

We spoke to DGD this morning and she's done very well, got what she needs for the college she's going to and got a 9 in her main subject so she's a happy bunny and we're very proud of her. I had to google the grades, it was percentages when I was at school (O-levels) and letters for the DC and now it's numbers. Confused

Yay for lovely holidays and walks.

And the edit works, great.

LetUsPrey · 24/08/2023 17:58

Evening wenches.

Thank you for the well dones. And a very big well done to ApricotDGD! Brilliant news Smile

Took DS2 for his college enrolment. I found it a lot to take in and I could see DS2 getting more and more overwhelmed the more he was told, and by what he was being told. Obviously there’ll be a lot but just need to stop him going into a panic.

I’d have complained too Apricot. Hate that sort of sneakiness. Hope you get a good result.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 24/08/2023 19:47

Well done on results Star Star

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/08/2023 19:47

Evening wenches. The trip home was via a long and wiggly single track road to a waterfall that DH wanted to see. Got there, and realised that we already went there 4 years ago. <rolls eyes out of sockets and down the road> So it was very scenic and all, but a bit pointless. Then stopped off at Nat Trust for a break and DS was utterly shitty about it being boring and we hadn't done enough things that he wanted to do. Not that he could name anything that he wanted to do, but we hadn't done the mythical things. F.M.A.L. I may have had a bit of a go at him for that level of fuckwittery. He then started being chatty and 'nice' when we were back in the car, which is his way of saying sorry, without actually saying sorry or admitting that he'd been a little shit. We need to have a talk about the importance of using actual words to say sorry.

Parenting is very tedious.

Anyway, we're home now and it's raining.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/08/2023 23:04

Also, hurrah for exam results, <cbf> at Sainsbury Wine sneakiness, hurrah for Athletics. Wicked - you need to think outside of the 'London' box if you want waterfalls and castles Grin

LetUsPrey · 25/08/2023 07:29

Morning wenches.

Thanks for the congratulations. It was quite the relief. Now on to the next batch of stressy stuff!

Oh god the “this is boring” shite Helen. Our holidays northwards were plagued by this. Everything I suggested - no don’t want to do that it’s boring. Gave them a time limit to come up with alternatives and then if nothing forthcoming, we’d do my suggestion and no complaining allowed. They didn’t come up ideas needless to say.

Anyway, it’s Friday and it’s the Bank Holiday weekend.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/08/2023 11:45

Morning. It's warm and sunny here, and bank holiday Friday (so DH is busy all weekend with SportingActivity)

I have washing on, and need to do gardening stuff - plums and tomatoes that urgently need picking.

ApricotCrush · 25/08/2023 17:15

Afternoon. Reasonable day weather-wise but it’s drizzling now.

The yarn has arrived and I’m not sure about it. Anyway, I’ve started it and we’ll see.

On the semi-wildlife front, we appear to have a cockerel at the house at the end of our garden. DH said he’d seen hens there but this is new. I thought they only crowed at dawn but he’s at it all day. Confused

Have a lovely evening all. Wine
