Evening wenches.

Raaaiiiinnnnnn. All the rain all the day. It’s flipping miserable.

Grin at KillerKitty eyeing you up for a meal Helen. <passes soothing creams to HBFs to apply to Helen> Have a chocolate whilst your metabolism still loves you.

Also very productive Apricot. Relieved that somewenches are at least getting a bit of sunshine.

LetUsPrey · 01/08/2023 07:18

Morning wenches.

Christ on an actual bike, just stop raining! Just some better weather for a bit please. Preferably at the weekend thank you.

No rushing around from me this morning. I’m up, dressed and I’ve brushed my teeth. The world should be grateful for that today.

Hope wenches are getting dry days.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/08/2023 14:10

Afternoon all. We have a mostly dry day, soz LetUs. Had a shockingly bad night last night - couldn't get to sleep until sometime around 1:30. Then I whole and thought 'hurrah - I slept in at least' but no, I'd misread the clock and it was 6am not 8am. FMLackOfSleep. I'm starting to think I need to bring the clock closer to the bed so I can reliably read it with no glasses Sad

ApricotCrush · 01/08/2023 17:45

Afternoon. No rain today Shock but no sun either. At least I was able to do a food shop without getting wet.

I can’t see our clock very well at night Helen, I stare at it for ages trying to focus and often get it wrong. Misty did us the honour of throwing up in the bedroom at 4.30 but I was awake anyway. Hmm

Hope everyone’s had a good day.

Evening wenches.

Full of a cold which hopefully will disappear overnight.

Trouble sleeping again too. The alarm clock is on DH’s side of the bed. I can’t see the time on it at all if I’m not wearing my glasses. <hard stare> at Misty which she obviously won’t care about Grin

We’ve had rain. Wasn’t too bad when I got home but within about 10 minutes we had end of days darkness.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/08/2023 20:32

Oh dear Sad <tucks apricot and LetUs up in the hayloft with hbfs for a good night's sleep> <tae>

DPD were meant to pick up my laptop today. The lying bastards sent a 'sorry we missed you' text without bothering to turn up. So maybe they'll pick it up tomorrow if they can be bothered. Angry And now I've just poured fatty casserole sauce all over my shorts. ffs at self. Still, it could have been worse, it could have been allover the sofa.
Please send hbf to get me cleaned up...

LetUsPrey · 02/08/2023 07:28

Morning wenches.

Hopefully you were thoroughly showered and soaped by Athos last night Helen. He also offered to deal with the bastard lying bastards about your laptop.

Better night’s sleep and it’s a short day. Raining though. Again.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/08/2023 09:16

Morning all. Raining here too. Unfortunately, Athos was also delivered by DPD so failed to turn up. FML, etc.
At least I had a Good night's sleep and no cat vom.

ApricotCrush · 02/08/2023 16:09

Afternoon. No rain here. Oh correction, I’ve just looked out of the window and it’s raining. Hmm

Grin at the lack of Athos delivery. Hope the laptop has been collected now.

Also hope your cold is better LetUs.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 02/08/2023 17:57

Evening wenches.

Good night’s sleep and no catvom is a definite win Helen, despite the lack of Athos delivery.

Rain on and off all day here too. Cold much better thanks.

I plan to carry on with the blanket I’m knitting tonight as it doesn’t require much concentration.

FancyFancy · 02/08/2023 20:42

Evening
Rain, shitty night's sleep and cat vom here too - there's some weird syncing going on........

Despite being promised thunderstorms most of the afternoon, none arrived. FFAS I'm starting to take it personally <harrumphs>

On the bright side, have been watching netball the last couple of nights which has ben lovely - England v Australia tomorrow morning, fingers crossed that is also lovely.

Ah, welcome to my world helen - I've not been able to see my bedside clock for about 40 years. God knows I've tried clocks with big faces, even thought about ones that project the time on a wall or ceiling - problem is that the numbers would have to be so big that the amount of light involved for that would light the whole sodding room up Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/08/2023 22:29

evening all . I have had a headless chicken day of trying to work and also doing two sets of taxi runs for DS, plus meeting up with friends for a blether this evening.

We were also promised thundery showers fancy but it's been mostly fine with occasional smatterings of light rain.

The laptop was picked up today by DPD, but UPS pulled the same stunt on picking up a parcel that DH is returning . So there has been more courier-related swearing here.

I'm a bit tired and should probably head up to the hay loft...

LetUsPrey · 03/08/2023 07:33

Morning wenches.

Grin at sleep-defeating clock display Fancy.

🤞🏻for the netball this morning.

That all sounds very busy and frustrating Helen. Stay in the hayloft draped in HBFs for the day.

We have actual sunshine and no rain (for now)!

Enjoy your days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/08/2023 10:03

Morning all. Thought I'd posted, but I had a nagging feeling that I might be delusional. Yep.

Slightly chaotic morning - had bonkers dream which I can't even make sense of in any coherent way - something about going undercover trying to find something hidden in a 'marble library' where everything was carved in marble, except the statues came to life and started reading the books (which may or may not have been carved from marble too). And then magically being given a costume (military jacket type of uniform, all braids and stuff) so I could go undercover at a ball. Weird. And then there were enchanted chickens?! That last bit might have been prompted by the real life chickens being noisier than usual due to the wind and the fact that their door had been rattled open, so they were out and about, and shouting about it. No HBFs involved though.

I've just been dealing with an urgent work query, and also discovered that today is not a 'half a grapefruit' breakfast day because I'm starving still. So of course, IntelligentCat has jumped on my lap and started snoozing.

Oh heck - another urgent work panic. You can tell the deadline is imminent. FML and all that...

Later.

FancyFancy · 03/08/2023 13:24

Afternoon
Enchanted chickens?! That surely is a new level of bonkers Grin

ApricotCrush · 03/08/2023 16:55

Afternoon. Terrible night, wide awake for most of it for no reason. Lovely start to the day so I got the bedding on the line early and yes, of course at 10 o’clock torrential rain. Angry

This afternoon I’ve got lost in a YouTube rabbit hole of vintage jumpers and want to knit all of themHmm

We tried a clock that projected onto the ceiling once Fancy but it was a hideous green which was not conducive to sleep.

Mad dream Helen. Grin

Evening wenches.

Helen - In the words of (I think) Rob Reiner’s mother in When Harry Met Sally “I’ll have what she’s having” Grin

Work panic too. Stuff that’s supposed be delegated to another member of support staff but apparently she was “too busy” a-fucking-gain so NiceColleague and I ended up with it.

Many a time I’ve watched a Poirot or Miss Marple Apricot and seen some lovely vintage knitwear and thought “oh yes please”. Wouldn’t have a cat in hell’s chance of being able to knit it though.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 03/08/2023 19:43

Grin at ”enchanted chickens”

FancyFancy · 03/08/2023 21:56

Glad I wasn't just being overly pessimistic about those clocks apricot

Wonder if your useless support staff member is related to one of ours letus? I never need to deal with her so had no idea what she was like - until she was described to me recently as 'the worst PA I have ever come across'. I'm lucky as the only ones I need to deal with range from good to bloody awesome & are all lovely to boot.

Speaking of awesome, I'm just about to start watching this morning's netball. I already know the score but will be enjoying it anyway Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/08/2023 22:54

Evening all. We've watched the last Guardians of the Galaxy tonight, which was entertaining fluff.

I pulled a couple of rabbits out of hats today for work, but several others are still stuck firmly in their burrows. (possibly with some enchanted chickens Hmm Grin ) FFS at the useless support staff. I mean, the clue's in the job title support.

Hope you have a better night's sleep tonight Apricot. I'd like to head for bed but I'm still trying to sort out a holiday. FFS etc. <side eyes at DH>

LetUsPrey · 04/08/2023 07:35

Morning wenches.

Friday <gives a weak tired hurrah>

They’re everywhere Fancy, people who are stealing a living. I enjoyed listening to the netball in the car on the way in yesterday. Checked the result when I got to my desk and gave a whoop. Rather startled NiceColleague Grin

I thought you were talking about actual rabbits there for a moment Helen. <shakes head at self>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/08/2023 08:50

Morning all. <pours Brew all round.

Yes, rabbit wrangling - one of my many jobs Wink.

Was up far too late last night trying to find holiday. Currently debating a digital detox for 3 nights with no wifi Shock But in the meantime, I have a 9am call...

Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 04/08/2023 17:14

Afternoon. Nice day but still on the chilly side.

We're going to DD's for a barbecue later, so I think I'll go suitably attired in a thick jumper. Ridiculous for August. Hmm

Have a lovely evening all. Wine

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/08/2023 20:06

Evening all. I'm tiiiired (as per usual). Today I have been busy with work, and have one freelance rabbit stuck in the metaphorical hat. Sad. still, one out of quite a lot isn't bad. I'm debating sticking a film of, but the manshapes are bound to get home near the end and then ask lots of question. Still. Ill give it a go.

LetUsPrey · 04/08/2023 21:00

Evening wenches.

Hope you’ve managed some headway with a film Helen. <entices rabbits with carrots>

It’s so silly it being this chilly in August isn’t it Apricot? Forecast for next weekend seems promising for now Hope you’re having a nice evening.

I’m tired and achey so am hoping for a decent night’s sleep. I also hope to lose at least half a stone by the morning and have had a subtle yet effective facelift. I’m not sure which of the three is most likely.
