I've had a short notice quick catch up with a friend which was nice. Not really done very much today, which is a bit daft of me because we have a friend coming to stay next weekend, and tidying is required!

Fingers crossed for the mower Apricot, and hope that Fancy is having a nice meal without being blown away,

Didn’t get as early a start as I’d like but the flapjacks are out of the oven now. Ironing will probably have to wait until this afternoon. I’d hoped to have it done so I could watch the tennis without danger of ironing over my fingers but I suppose I shall just have to be careful.

No rain here - sun/cloud and more wind. And a headache . WE have FriendWhoIsAllergicToCats coming to visit soon, so I need to be tidying and washing but I'm really not in the mood. A quiet dark room with an optional HBF would be ideal.

The lawns are cut and a problem DH had with the mower before has gone, so he’s happy with it.

I’ve got two insurances to sort out, house and pet, but I just can’t be arsed. I’m not interested in the tennis either.

Tennis was good, but I was in bed until the last set. Headache is mostly gone, but lingering a bit still. Not an awful lot of cleaning or tidying has been done.

Glad the mower is working Apricot - DH has also been mowing today.

Bastard headache roared back into life at 3am, which was not lovely. Today I will be chugging drugs. (Well, hopefully not - I've taken more with breakfast and hopefully that will be the end of it.)

Sunshine here and the wind has gone. Idiot kitty has been in for breakfast and gone back outside to be taunted by suicidal wrens - all I can think is they have a fledgling near that they're trying to distract him from. I've dragged him back in once already. I may have to actually shut him in for the morning if the wrens keep at it.

Evening out was excellent. Anton and Gio from Strictly which quite surprisingly prompted some very sexytimes with Gio dreams.

Suppose I’d better have breakfast and then think about going to work.

Afternoon. I did a wash load, put it on the line and then it started raining. Brought it in and put it in the tumbler. Lovely day thereafter.

DGS’s sports day was postponed based on the forecast, but could have gone ahead.

Have you heard anything from the hospital WW? The waiting is awful, we’ve had it with DH but all was well.

The weather is so rubbish. It’s DS1’s graduation tomorrow and it’s forecast for rain all day (obviously big parts of it indoors) but what’s the betting the forecast is actually spot on and it does actually rain?

The forecast says that we still have a bit of sun - implying that it's doing to vanish shortly. I have done the exercise thing, and now I'm doing the 'working' thing. Intelligent cat is currently dozing on my lap, 'helping' me work by getting between me and the keyboard

I should probably put washing on, but the forecast implies that it would get another rinse outside, so maybe not. Who knows. I can't at the moment anyway, due to the Furry Impediment who must not be moved.

We're having the wall round the front of the house repaired. It must be catching Fancy. The brickie and DH are all dressed up in waterproofs, ridiculous for July.

We’ve had a lovely day, despite the bastard rain and cold in July. Super super proud of DS1. Had a delicious late lunch too.

I've just remembered that I'm meant to be baking shortbread... eek!

I’m sure they’re delicious Helen, but safe side I’ll build a little house with them instead. I’ve done flapjacks after work and I think I set the oven a bit high as they appear to be rather “caramelised”.

Why does that happen Apricot? Soon as you get comfy outside in the sunshine, sun goes away.
