Morning wenches.

It’s so good of you to get involved with suggestions for the cycling programme Fancy. Very thoughtful.

All bitey insect fuckers can fuck off. I got some absolute belters of bites when we were on holiday.

We have rain. Again.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/07/2023 07:41

Morning all. Sun again. There was drizzle overnight - enough to make things damp again without it sinking into the ground.

I got a slightly better night's sleep and also had a bonkers dream about going back to my flat where I used to live (I'd been away 5 years in my dream), and finding that the whole block was being renovated and the only way to my flat was a rickety ladder. Also, 'Friends' seemed to be set off the same stairwell, but the actor who played Joey wasn't available, so he wasn't there. Then there was some sort of sports event where I should see the stadium from my flat, with a massive firework/glitter explosion at the end which me and someone I very occasionally work with were all <cbf> about (in the same manner as non-biodgradable confetti). And there was lots of rain a long way away, cloudburst style.
So I don't know what my subconscious has been doing, but certainly not paying attention to our decorating prompts. Hmm I hope everyone elses' was better behaved.
Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 12/07/2023 17:07

Afternoon. No more rain, but no sun either.

News from the Lawnmower Hospital (it really is called that). It’s DH’s fault, he put diesel into it! FFS. It’s got to be drained and cleaned out or something. God knows how much it will cost.

Bonkers dream LetUs.

Sorry, Helen. Grin I can’t see the thread properly on the iPad.

LetUsPrey · 12/07/2023 20:15

Evening wenches.

At least it was the lawnmower and not a car Apricot (like what one of my brothers-in-law did once). Super that it’s been admitted to Lawnmower Hospital and is awaiting treatment.

That’s absolutely crackers Helen Grin I had one about Matthew Goode the other night. I’ve been rewatching A Discovery of Witches. There was much kissing and a lot of “other stuff”. Can’t recall whether it was him or his character, although neither have been a particular yes please.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/07/2023 21:18

Evening all. We are now on Mission Impossible 4...

We've had a decent amount of rain today at last. Properly apocalyptic clouds on my drive home and then big wet raindrops hurling themselves out of the sky, though only for a few minutes.

Work was work-ish.

<arf> at the wrong fuel in the machine. Though also sympathies, that's one of my nightmares since we have one petrol and one diesel car!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/07/2023 07:56

Morning all. No more rain overnight (of batshit dreams) and sunny outside. Nothing exciting going on, just work...

LetUsPrey · 13/07/2023 08:31

Morning wenches.

More rain here. It can lay off for a bit from next week if it doesn’t mind as I’ve some things coming up that are outside.

Suppose I should really think about setting off for work. I’ll definitely think about it. More physio tonight and I have actually been doing my exercises.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 13/07/2023 16:31

Quite a surprising day, got a call from the mammogram section that they wanted me to come in and do an ultrasound, where they found an 8 mm big lump which led to a biopsy. Have to wait two weeks for an answer. So much fun Confused

The good thing is that even if it is malignant the lump is so small so the surgery will be easy. Quite worried though, didn’t see this coming.

ApricotCrush · 13/07/2023 17:50

Afternoon. No rain, quite a pleasant day.

Oh WW, sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed it’s benign, most breast lumps are. <hugs>

He’s done that one as well LetUs. We have one petrol and one diesel car too. He realised on the forecourt, so no damage was done, but had to get someone out to drain the tank. What with that and the golf trolley taking a swim in the lake with his phone and him falling out of trees and off ladders, he’s a walking disaster.

The other week he lost his (new) phone as we were going to bed and we spent half an hour searching for it. He then thought he must have left it on an outside table at the golf club and drove there at 11 o’clock only to find the gates were locked. He actually considered scaling the boundary wall he’s 79 with titanium knees ffs but thought better of it when he realised there was CCTV and didn’t know how he would explain himself if 6 squad cars turned up with sirens blaring.

Anyway while he was away I remembered I had FindMyPhone on the iPad and that said it was in the garden Confused so we spent another half an hour outside with torches to no avail. I decided that FindMyPhone probably wasn’t that accurate and eventually found it in the study, which we had both searched earlier, under a magazine. Honestly it’s like living with Frank Spencer. Grin

Evening wenches.

Honestly can’t remember what the weather did today. I think it might have rained at some point. Physio went very well.

It’s so worrying when this stuff happens Wicked. I found a lump or two a few years ago which had to be drained after a scan. Lots and lots of syringes full of fluid. Everything crossed for you lovely.

How do you stay sane Apricot? Grin at like living with Frank Spencer.

FancyFancy · 13/07/2023 21:59

Evening, have been to our work's barbecue which stayed mercifully dry, it was touch and go all day as the forecast is pretty useless at the moment.

<Cwtches> ww and fingers crossed it's benign, as apricot said, most are but it is scary waiting.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/07/2023 22:53

Evening all.

<cwtch> for wicked - fingers crossed for an easy-draining cysts. It will be fine.

We've had a mostly hot and muggy day, with a quick few minutes of rain being hurled down. This afternoon I went for a walk down the road and it's got to that point when you know there's deer in the barely because you can just see the two dark little ears poking above the crop Grin Not much else going on - work and... Hmm not much else.

LetUsPrey · 14/07/2023 07:40

Morning wenches.

Awwww at ninja deer hiding.

I keep checking forecast for Tuesday (graduation) and hoping it’s wrong because it just keeps saying rain.

I’d quite like it to be the other end of Friday but I suppose this is a start.

Hope the appointment goes well Apricot.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/07/2023 08:23

Morning all.

It all feels a bit like too much effort today - can I just stay under the duvet?

Last night's deer was in the barley (FFS at typos, though it was also 'barely there' apart from the ears.) Judging by the crashing about, there was also one in the chicken run this morning when I went to feed them, though I didn't check the fence to see what mess it made trying to run though/jump over it.

Fingers crossed for a good Friday for everyone.

ApricotCrush · 14/07/2023 16:32

Afternoon. Rain all day, horrible.

The appointment went well, I was out in five minutes including a blood pressure check. Shock He asked about six questions, stuck his stethoscope on me and said ‘You’re fine, we’ll see you again in a year.’ He was dictating a letter as I left the room. I can’t help thinking they’re trying to get through their lists as fast as they can. Anyway, that’s alright by me.

Aww at deer in the barley.

LetUsPrey · 14/07/2023 21:09

Evening wenches.

Good news that you’re fine for another year Apricot!

<pulls duvet a bit further over Helen>

Work was absolute shite. I was broken by about 3pm and had properly hit the wall.

We’ve had wind and rain. It’s more like November.

It was nice to get home and watch the tennis - the men’s semis! Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/07/2023 22:16

Evening all. We have had rain all afternoon. DS has had sports day but says they were pretty much finished by the time it started.

I had a WTF day at work -
"WFT is that?"
"WhyTF has that happened?"
"WhyTF hasn't that worked?"
"WhereFT has that gone to?"
F.M.L. Sad The worst thing is that most of them were entirely my fault.
TFIF. I plan to do bugger all this weekend.

Glad the appointment went well Apricot. <arf> at MrA's missing phone - the number of times I have to wander about the house phoning my mobile to try and find it before it stops ringing and goes to answerphone...

I think I need an early night. Or a bath.

LetUsPrey · 15/07/2023 08:09

Morning wenches.

<hides Helen in cwtch cupboard to assist with weekend’s plan of doing bugger all>

We have thunderstorms forecast all day so didn’t bother getting a wash ready for this morning. Sunshine has been streaming through since I woke up well before 7. So there’s just over an hour left on this wash, rain should start in about an hour.

Nothing much else planned. Must sew the buttons on the baby cardigans as we had an early arrival of another family baby this week Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/07/2023 12:55

Aftenoon all.

It's blowing a hooley out there Shock Mostly sunny though. I would be a good day to get the washing blown off the line and into <checks wind direction; look at map> the Netherlands, or possibly Denmark? The netting has been blown off the blueberries twice now, so I give up. I've picked the ripe stuff and will hope the blackbirds don't strip the rest in the meantime (they'd probably be on route to Europe too if they tried flying anywhere just now).

DH has gone out shopping and I'm brunching. Probably actually, I just missed breakfast and went straight to lunch.

Hope everywench has a lovely day.

FancyFancy · 15/07/2023 17:02

Afternoon

Heading off out soon for dinner with DS (late birthday dinner), if I don't get blown away en route. We have had wind, torrential rain & some thunder this afternoon. At last. Not dark enough to really appreciate the lightning though <is never satisfied>

Have fun evenings everyone

ApricotCrush · 15/07/2023 17:14

Afternoon. Many torrential showers but no thunder as forecast here. Poor DH was trying to do gardening. The mower’s back, he hasn’t tried it yet. £60 for a stupid mistake. Shock

Nothing else going on.

Happy belated birthday to FancyDS and congrats to FamilyLetUs on the new baby. Have a lovely evening all.

Got here a bit early so am waiting around. Knew there was something I forgot in my post! Congrats for the new family arrival letus 🍾

LetUsPrey · 15/07/2023 21:07

Evening wenches.

Thanks for the congratulations. It’s a little girl - not had one of those for quite a while!

Rain, rain, wind and rain all afternoon and evening. Bored of it now. I’d like to be complaining that it’s too hot please.

Enjoy belated birthday dinner Fancy.

I’d quite like a drink and then an early night but I’m picking DH up later.
