Evening. Have been working, with a pleasant afternoon tea break with added wench arrival 😊Then did a bit in the garden, fortunately no black flies and hopefully I avoided any mozzies.

Am now trying to catch up with the cycling, am woefully behind. Ah well, it's a good excuse to spend lots of time watching thiiiiiiiighs all weekend.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/07/2023 11:34

Morning all. We have been gigging at BigCity, which turned out to be slightly more 'dutiful parenting' than active enjoyment on my part, but ho hum.
The garden wall at Chateaux Fancy has been repaired with good solid brickwork. Always good to make sure that your walls are suitably sturdy and up to the job, so well done that wench Wink

Weather is a bit meh - rain and thunder overnight. Sympathies on the thunderflies Apricot (I assume that's what they were) - they do get everywhere. I remember my last laptop had one behind the screen, so whatever I looked at, there was always a little thunderfly in there, frozen in time.

Hurrah for the physio LetUs - hopefully the exercises will help and you'll remember to actually do them <side-eyes at self> What's the current knitting project?

LetUsPrey · 08/07/2023 11:36

Morning wenches.

I am making no comment about you being behind with cycling Fancy. Nope. Not me.

Had haircut this morning <swishes> and don’t plan to do much else today. I’ve a wash on the line which hopefully will be dry before the forecast thunderstorms arrive. Thrill a minute here.

LetUsPrey · 08/07/2023 11:40

I’m assuming there’ll be many and frequent checks on the sturdiness of the wall.

Still have buttons to sew on three baby cardigans, I started a baby blanket on holiday, and also have a toddler size tank top on the go. So of course tomorrow I’m going shopping with BestFriend to buy stuff for another project. Grin

ApricotCrush · 08/07/2023 17:01

Afternoon. Bit dull here with some rain, but not enough to do any good.

You remember that my printer died as the ink pads were full? Well, we haven't been able to find anyone locally who services printers! So DH said he'd do it himself, and with the help of an eBay purchase of new ink pads, some dodgy instructions which didn't apply to my printer and various YouTube videos we've finally managed it, but it has been exhausting. Anyway, it's working again. Hurrah!

Well done for braving the gig Helen.

Enjoy the cycling Fancy.

<admires *LetUs's haircut> Have fun with the shopping.

FancyFancy · 08/07/2023 20:28

Hurrah for getting the printer to work again!

You're right letus the wall should be checked for sturdiness, I'll need some hbfs........

Had a relaxed morning with Helen and family, well until FancyCat scratched MrHelen 😳 she really is a cantankerous beast at times. Spent much of the afternoon dealing with the plants that needed to be unpinned from the wall and fence at the front. The stem of one honeysuckle had completely snapped 😦 so I'm hoping it will grow again from the roots.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/07/2023 23:24

Evening wenches. I'm home and I'm whacked. MrH is slightly punctured (rather than shredded), but fine otherwise. Sad re. the honeysuckle. Hopefully it will re-grow.
Am well impressed with the printer fixing Apricot - I've ended up buying a b/w laser printer because I got sick of the inkjets getting blocked and printing in stripes.

LetUsPrey · 09/07/2023 08:47

Morning wenches.

That’s super news re the printer Apricot. Very impressive!

Oh to be a cat. Imagine being able to just do the human non-physical violent equivalent of scratching someone when you felt a bit cantankerous Grin

Going to do another batch of flapjacks and then meet BestFriend before doing the parent visiting. Then the usual Sundayness will set in before tomorrow’s return to full reality.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/07/2023 09:54

<scoffs flapjack>
Morning all. It's hot outside with hazy sun and high clouds. We have absolutely no plans today other than chill out after a busy couple of days.

ApricotCrush · 09/07/2023 16:49

Afternoon. We have rain, and thunder, not overhead though.

I seem to have spent the day doing various admin tasks. DH isn’t happy because both the lawnmowers we have refuse to start. It’s just one thing after another. Sad

<pinches one of LetUs’s flapjacks> <nae> I really must make some, they sound delicious.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 09/07/2023 17:50

Afternoon wenches.

These flapjacks aren’t lasting as long as they usually do. Disappearing quite quickly. How mysterious.

Stupid lawnmowers. Hope at least one starts eventually.

We’ve had more rain, still no thunderstorms.

I’m tired and really quite grumpy.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/07/2023 21:47

Evening all. We've had rain and sun. Nothing exciting. I baked a cake for DH which turned out quite well (I'm not usually great with victoria sponges) and have been in the garden a bit. Too wet to try and get a mower out though. Hope that MrA has managed to get yours working Apricot.

Am planning an early night, but the kitchen post-cooking carnage needs to be tidied up first.

LetUsPrey · 10/07/2023 07:21

Morning wenches.

<admires Helen’s cake>

And so here we are, back to reality. Ready for work. At least ready in the sense that I’m dressed, not ready in other ways.

Have super lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/07/2023 07:55

Morning. Hot, sunny, no cloud... I'm going to hide in the office all day peering out of the small north-facing window and be glad that I'm not roasting outside. I might sneak back to bed first though.

ApricotCrush · 10/07/2023 16:50

Afternoon. Raining all day. Think I’ve had enough of it now.

Mowers still not working. One of them will have to go into the lawnmower hospital. Sad

Hope everyone’s had a good day.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 10/07/2023 19:09

Mmm, cake <drools>.

Did a mammogram today Confused

LetUsPrey · 10/07/2023 19:43

Evening wenches.

Was lovely when I left the house this morning so I didn’t bother to act on my better instincts and go back in for a coat. It lashed it down for most of the day.

<points airblade at Helen>

Poor mower Apricot.

Not the funnest way to spend your time Wicked but all done now for a while.

I was hoping to do a bit more knitting tonight but after one day back at work my brain is saying no, absolutely not.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/07/2023 21:40

'The mower hospital' should be a children's cartoon with lots of wide-eyed mowers helping each other get better. Hope yours gets fixed soon Apricot.

We haven't had rain today - I'd still like some more, but it was handy having a dry day to do the washing. I couldn't work out if it was getting, or if the clouds looked like rain. It's dark now, and no rain.

Sympathies on being squished <niagw> Wicked, but as LetUs says - done now.

I'm slogging through a very tedious freelace project. If I really crack on, I may get it done tomorrow though. (And then I have a second tedious one to work on. Ho hum.)

LetUsPrey · 11/07/2023 07:27

Morning wenches.

Awwww at the Mower Hospital book!

<diverts rain to Helen>

Foot cramp and non-specific anxiety dreams do not make for a restful night’s sleep. Imagine if I slept all night and woke up refreshed - I’d not know what to do Grin

Another day at work of seeing people actively avoid doing the job they’re paid to do until it gets to the point where someone else ends up doing it. It’s quite something really.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/07/2023 09:42

Morning all. I was going to go back to bed this morning, but then realised I had an early morning exercise thing, so there went that idea.

Went to bed early-ish last night, and then lay there with my brain whirring away pointlessly for another half hour or so about god knows what idiot things that didn't need to be stressed about. FFS brain - can it not occupy itself with HBFs instead?

We had drizzle overnight, so everything's damp without having much effect on the ground.

Right. Work.

FancyFancy · 11/07/2023 14:02

Afternoon.

The forecast said heavy rain in the early hours but it didn't look that wet out there this morning. FancyMan & I did manage to go for a walk yesterday evening before it rained which was nice. Otherwise I spent the day pottering - did some weeding - am hopeful that some flowering plants have self seeded. It's a good excuse to leave some seedlings in place to see hat they turn into!

Ouch ww - it's a good excuse to treat yourself today though.

Am up to date with the cycling now & as a bonus the highlights show had Marcel Kittel as a guest for a few days. Sadly not in cycling short <harrumphs>

ApricotCrush · 11/07/2023 17:58

Afternoon. Heavy downpours all day which I just managed to avoid to do a food shop and collect DGS.

I don’t get mammograms now WW, they’re not bothered about me any more. Actually that’s not true, the hospital phoned yesterday to arrange a review, which is 15 months overdue Shock, but told me that my lovely cardiologist has left. Sad I’m seeing someone else on Friday.

Love The Mower Hospital cartoon book idea.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 11/07/2023 20:06

Evening wenches.

I do love a tale of pottering Fancy.

We’ve had lots of rain too. I’d be more than happy to redirect it, although it’s being jolly decent and has managed to avoid the times I’m walking between the car park and the office.

That’s a shame re your lovely cardiologist Apricot. Fingers crossed the new person is just as nice.

Funny how thoughts of HBFs are never obliging Helen. Rude.

Just remembered I put a wash on and I’ll need to empty the airer thing so I can fill it up again. Pfft.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/07/2023 21:54

It is hot and sweaty here. niagw. Though it's not so bad outside, but if I open windows we will be the House of Mozzies. And that's not good either. FML etc.

Hurrah for pottering, boo for cardiologists leaving, also boo for cyclists not wearing their shorts (rude!)

I'm bloody knackered and going to bed. <adds prompts for everyone's subconcious>

FancyFancy · 11/07/2023 22:15

Keeping everything crossed that the new cardiologist is equally lovely apricot

Commiserations about the mozzies Helen. Little fuckers.
