On the subject of earthquakes, DS was in Greece when they had that big one. He sent me a message afterwards - it was a photo of his lunch. No mention of the quake at all 😂

I approve of DS's priorities Fancy When you eventually get up here for a visit again we'll go to the nearby cheese shop.

Morning wenches. DS has work experience this week. So due to us living in the Land of No Public Transport, that means a week of being taxi during rush hour. Joy.

Hurrah very much for Wimbledon!

As I was completely knackered by late afternoon and then we went out for tea to celebrate with DS1 for being a clever thing, I was running on fumes by bedtime. This of course meant barely any sleep. If I was a baby/toddler, I’d have been crying and screaming for two hours through being overtired but unable to sleep. No matter. Things to do today but there’ll be time for a nap if I need it.

Much rain overnight here too, hopefully not too much today as I was woken up by the sound of FancyCat throwing up on my bed this morning 🙀 so my day started with my sprinting out of bed, stripping the bed & loading the washing machine then frantically scrubbing the carpet and the duvet. The duvet cover is on the line and probably getting an extra rinse.

In happier news, the builders have finished & I bought gig tickets this morning as it seems Dsis wants to see Muse & her DH isn't interested so she needs someone to go with. I selflessly volunteered

You’d think after forgetting to put the washing liquid in the machine yesterday I wouldn’t do it again. Reader, I did it again today. 12 minutes left on the bazillionth wash of the day and I spotted it, sitting there laughing at me. Been a good drying day though, quite windy.

Ah - sympathies on the tiredness LetUs - I couldn't get to sleep last night so was awake past midnight, then woke up at 5:30 - running on fumes today. #MatchsticksAndRedBull. I really need an early night tonight, or at least to get to sleep once I'm in bed.

Fancy - you are an inspiration in sisterly solidarity I'm feeling quite left out now with the Musing, though we are gigging this weekend in what is still a complete surprise for DS. Currently watching Arctic Monkeys' Glastonbury gig. Which we watched live, but ho hum. DS has his guitar out and is happily playing along.

We've had wind today, and a bit more rain. Work was meh and despite working just the 'one' day so far I seem to have clicked up about 10 hours this week

I think I shall mooch online a bit longer, sort out packed lunch for DS (Why?! He's 15. He's meant to be at least helping me with it tonight... Self-sufficiency is not his thing and I need to stop being helpful.) Then I shall do bath and or bed.

Feel much better this morning, and not at all like a zombie like I did yesterday. So flapjacks are made, two washes done and another on the go, dishes done and about to start the ironing. Contain your excitement if you can.

Could have sworn I posted earlier oh well. As far as I can tell, this morning's high cloud has gone and we have sunshine and a few small clouds floating about - of that's what I can see out of the window in this room. There may be apocalyptic thunderclouds if I looked in another direction, but I can't so it will be an exciting mystery
Also had a decent night's sleep, which helps, and I've just realised I have an exercise class shortly. eek.

We haven’t been to a gig for years but are toying with the idea of going to the Europe concert in October. Joey Tempest was on one of the morning programmes recently and they played some old footage and it took me right back. We’ve seen them before in 1989 and 2004 I think, and they’re great live. Will think about it.

I ironed for what felt like the whole day, with the exception of when we went shopping. Dress successfully bought for DS1’s graduation so at least that’s sorted.

Back to not sleeping well. Stomach ache which I thought was trapped wind. Physio/chiropractor appointment this morning to hopefully sort out my back and hips. Can’t wait.

I am doing the weekend packing/flailing thing, which currently involves MNing, cooking pancakes (before the batter turns), checking work emails, and trying not to forget anything. I think we're packed. Parking. I need to check parking.
