Evening wenches.

Temperature seems to have shot up in the Tav. How very mysterious Grin

Car insurance is indeed an absolute bastard. See also house insurance and travel insurance. Tried one of the comparison sites but it pissed me (can’t even remember why) so then I just tried a few individual companies but I’d no idea what was a good price so it took ages.

Shopping was successful after work, although the DS2 shopping has been postponed to tomorrow.

FancyFancy · 14/06/2023 20:57

Evening
Oh insurance is joyless. I've been using the price comparison websites for some years - they save a lot of your details which speeds things up in subsequent years but they're less fun now as I just can't seem to get such big savings anymore - not without going for a company I've never heard of.

The local pub near the Airbnb seems to have a folk night tonight - glad I bought my own music Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/06/2023 22:14

At least the comparison sites hold your details so you don't have to enter all the details every year. I think mine were just trying in on with the renewal, which backfired on them. But I wouldn't have used them again anyway so <shrug>

Anyway, it has been hot - very muggy now as well. I met up with a friend at lunch which was nice. Also successfully got DS more school trousers that don't stop several inches above his ankle. He's been insisting that he doesn't need any new ones for weeks, then changed his mind. Hurrah for M&S doing them in 'extra long' leg lengths.

A folk night Fancy? Are Graceful Pigeon and Look-Out Duck playing? Grin

LetUsPrey · 15/06/2023 07:31

Morning wenches.

Sunshine again.

They also go up to decent age sizes Helen. Two more days of uniform and then done here!

DS1’s home Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/06/2023 07:52

Yay for DS1 being home LetUs and for being nearly done with school uniforms.

Sunshine here too. I've been assured we have rain next week.

ApricotCrush · 15/06/2023 16:39

Afternoon. Still hot and sunny. Rain forecast for next week here too.

More washing done and not much else. Misty is asleep in the shoe cupboard in the lobby which has a corrugated plastic roof and is boiling hot. I assume she knows what she’s doing. Hmm

Yay for successful shopping and LetUsDS1 being home.

I plan to do as little as possible Apes Smile Just happy that I don't have to pack and move Grin

LetUsPrey · 15/06/2023 20:20

Evening wenches.

Also rain forecast here next week.

Smile at Misty in her sauna

It’s going to be such a good break for you Wicked.

Been out again with DS2. Shoes bought. Saw some swimming shorts for him in Tesco. No changing rooms any more so they went back on the rails. Seems a silly idea.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/06/2023 21:21

Sounds lovely Wicked - 4 weeks of chilling Grin

Our cats are just flaked out all day - too hot for anything else.

DH is watching TV, DS is playing guitar. I'm thinking about installing a sound and mosquito-proof yurt in the garden.

LetUsPrey · 16/06/2023 07:25

Morning wenches.

Friiiiddaaaayyyyy! Sun’s shining, I’m already too hot, but it’s Friday.

DS2 has his last GCSE today hopefully won’t need any resits and then that’s it for school. No more school uniform. Seems like yesterday that he was going off to Reception class for the first time.

<builds special yurt next to Helen’s>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/06/2023 07:41

Morning Also hot, sunny and Friday here. Was a bit 'walking dead' first thing, but suspect if I go back to bed for a sneaky half hour then I'll feel even more tired. Need to feed livestock anyway, and water stuff. By then it will probably be not worth going back to bed, and I've just remembered I have a 9am meeting, so need to be not visibly in PJs by then Grin
Fingers crossed for last exam and no resits! And for Fancy getting home from work and chilling out with FancyCat, and generally for a nice day for everyone.

ApricotCrush · 16/06/2023 16:38

Afternoon. I had a terrible night, it was so hot! It’s clouding over a bit now but still hot.

How lovely WW, hope the weather is good for you.

Have a nice evening all. Wine

Evening wenches.

Be a treat for your meeting Helen, you pitching up in your pyjamas <wiggles eyebrows>

<sets up air conditioning unit in Apricot’s bedroom>

I’ve been to work, come home, listened to screaming children next door for a couple of hours, collected DS2 from SportingActivity, and am now watching something historical and drinking raspberry vodka. Raspberry makes it practically a health drink.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/06/2023 22:37

Evening all. It has been hot, and I'm very much looking forward to the weekend. Hopefully lots of veg patch work, ready for the rain that we're absolutely definitely getting on Sunday Hmm

Hope that DS2's exam went well. Someone set off the fire alarm at DS' school, during the exam. FFS, etc

LetUsPrey · 17/06/2023 12:01

Morning/afternoon wenches.

Much cooler today with lots of cloud.

FFS at the fire alarm being set off during a flipping exam Helen (assuming it wasn’t a fire and it was someone being a dick).

Have run various errands this morning and am on wash load three. House is a tip but I’m not really doing anything about it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/06/2023 12:35

Afternoon all. It's warm but cloudy here. I should probably do washing too.

re. fire alarm, yes, it was someone being a dick. FFS etc.

I was up early this morning to help DH get out the door on time - just as well since Killer Kitty had brough a rabbit in and made a right mess. If there is ever the need for forensic people to come to this house and do tests for blood stains, they're going to be very busy - though possibly not get the results they're looking for Confused The utility room floor is going to need a scrubbing brush. <le sigh> Anyway, after that I went back to bed and had a fairly blissful lie-in.

Just been out doing life admin stuff, and have two parcels to return. But one is Evri and one is post office, and for some reason the return label in one of the boxes needs to be re-printed. So that's stalled a bit.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/06/2023 14:56

We might get rain tomorrow, here's hoping. Everything is so dry here. Been sleeping downstairs on the couch for two nights, much cooler, and also AC, yay!

Got som squash- and tomatoplants from mum so planted those today, will be interesting to ses if they survive, I'm otherwise known as "plant killer" Grin

Mini horse arrived today and he's so cute Smile

ApricotCrush · 17/06/2023 16:47

Afternoon. We had a bit of rain this mornng but not enough to do any good. It's still quite hot.

Today I have been mostly eBaying a there's an offer on.

I'm also a plant killer WW, I wouldn't dare attempt to grow anything. Good luck with the plants. Awww at mini horse.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/06/2023 20:51

Aww at the mini-horse Wicked Grin

We had half a mm of unexpected rain this afternoon, which hasn't really done much good for the plants, but was nice and cool while I was in the garden. More rain forecast tomorrow, because I will be at SportingActivity.

LetUsPrey · 17/06/2023 21:49

Evening wenches.

Busy day on and off including two hours of ironing. My feet and hips are not happy. Finally got swim shorts for DS2. Guess what Tesco and Asda? If you don’t have changing rooms in your clothing sections, then I’ll go to Sainsburys who do.

<deploys bleach bomb in relevant areas ChezHelen>

I can keep a cactus alive but that’s about it but that’s only if it’s presented as already grown.

Thunderstorms due tomorrow. I’m drinking vodka and thinking I must get an early night.

LetUsPrey · 18/06/2023 09:30

Morning wenches.

We had very heavy rain overnight and thunder. Lovely and sunny right now but more rain forecast.

Off visiting this morning, including baby cuddles, then not much else for the rest of the day.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/06/2023 18:39

Evening all. I got woken up in the small hours by wildlife partying outside, and then lay in bed not sleeping, listening to the dawn chorus, and falling asleep just in time for DH's alarm to go off. Sad

SportingActivity has been done (whilst slathered in sun cream(, and now I'm very much hoping for some of that rain, though without any noisy thunder while I'm trying to sleep please-and-thank-you.

Then I got home and am going to have to blitz the chichen coop again because you'd think I'd done nothing about getting rid of the mites Sad/ick.

Awww at baby cuddles Smile hope they were suitably squishy!

LetUsPrey · 18/06/2023 19:21

Evening wenches.

We have rain. On and off for about the last hour and a bit. Hope you get some of the rain too Helen, and the mites bugger off.

Baby cuddles were epic. He was smiley, then a bit crying because he’s teething and was tired. And then after a little while of him crying but with me gently rocking and walking with him, he fell asleep! I don’t recall this happening with either of my two. And then I got to sit down while he snored away on my lap - like being trapped under a cat Grin. He was in a much better mood when he woke up.

I’ve done a bit more knitting. Am already feeling the panic setting in re prepping and packing for holiday this Saturday.

ApricotCrush · 18/06/2023 21:03

Evening wenches. We were promised a thunder storm which never materialised but we have had some rain.

The DCs and DGCs came round this afternoon and then we went out for a meal so it’s been a bit hectic. I am ready for bed.

I dreamt about the mini horse last night WW. I was trying to get a pic of DGS, who was about 3 years old, sitting on him but no-one was co-operating. Confused

Annoying about the chicken coop Helen, I’ve no idea about these things,

Awww at snoring baby cuddles.
