Evening

New bird feeder is in place and the squirrels have already worked out how to bypass the baffle. I should be pissed off but the cute little buggers are so clever I'm secretly impressed 😁

Have spent a lazy day with FancyMan, we have finally decided on a holiday, so spent some of the day looking at various attractions in the chosen area.

You do have the best landladies ww!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/06/2023 22:27

Evening all. How exciting Fancy - hopefully you'll actually be able to go this time!

Urgh - Shoes are bad enough. I'll have the horror of the Prom next year, and trying to get DS to try on suits Confused We didn't have such things either - there was a leavers disco, maybe a buffet, at that was your lot. Proms were what you got when you graduated at Uni.

The weather has not perked up here.

In other news, I've done something to my foot which Aussie google tells me is 'Heel pad syndrome'. It feels like bruising and it's bloody annoying/hurts and is most inconvenient. Woe is me, etc.

LetUsPrey · 06/06/2023 07:41

Morning wenches.

Today is brought to you by the letter uurrrggggghhhhhhhh.

Perhaps we could employ squirrels at our place, they seem to have more brains. Holiday sounds like it’ll be fabulous Fancy.

Oh Helen. Do we need to wrap you in a combination of bubble wrap and cotton wool? Into sick bay/loungers out in sun and lie next to Apricot. I’ll bring out an extra sudoku book.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 06/06/2023 10:27

We did have a prom when we graduated, it was very new then, but my class only did two years instead of three so the other students didn't want us there so we sad fuck this and went out to a restaurant instead.

OMG! Fancy are you finally going to Sweden?! Can't wait to show you guys around Smile Grin

Day off today, it's Swedens National Day, so I plan to do as little as possible Smile

Ouch about your foot Helen Sad

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/06/2023 12:27

I'd like bubble-wrap, cotton wool and HBFs please? Did a pilates class this morning and it wasn't too bad (with extra spongy mat for my feet). I think cushioned heel inserts are the order of the day - plus ice/elevation.

<arf> at employing squirrels - devious little sods that they are, I bet that they'd chew through wires, cause a power cut and then expect to be sent home for the day since no work could be done.

The weather continues to be meh, and provided light drizzle this morning.

ApricotCrush · 06/06/2023 16:51

Afternoon. No sun lounger today, cloudy and quite cold for June.

I did a Sainsbury shop while DH collected DGS and that’s it really.

Lol at squirrels, they are clever little buggers.

Ouch at heel Helen, hope it soon gets better.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 06/06/2023 19:47

Evening wenches.

Squirrels it is then.

Cloudy all day. Sun’s out now but it’s a bit breezy.

Happy National Sweden Day Wicked! Skål Wine

A Sainsburys shop is quite enough Apricot. Remember your ribs and the need to relax Wink

We’re supposed to be booking a holiday. Not loving the prospect.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/06/2023 23:10

I have been icing my heel, and now it's past bed time. Other than that, I have been working. Whoop Hmm

Hope wicked's had a fun day of being extra Swedish Grin <lobs Fika about>

Also - that Pauldron thing - two people got in a bidding war and it went for £1,010 Shock (wonder if TB has bought it back for himself Grin )

LetUsPrey · 07/06/2023 07:28

Morning wenches.

Crikey at the price of that!

Hope your foot feels better soon Helen.

Cloudy again which I don’t really mind. Didn’t sleep well again but it’s a short day but I’ve a bazillion things to do.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/06/2023 07:49

Morning wenches, I was up stupid late last night and I have a long day ahead of me today. FMStupidity. I woke up before the alarm this morning and then fell asleep for another 15 minutes dreaming about sleeping in and being late Hmm

It's also cloudy and gloomy outside, and my foot is being my foot. I'm a right eeyore this morning!

Ho hum, I shall try to locate a bit of enthusiasm... maybe the work FAF will be in! Though we've just had an office shuffle, so I may have been shuffled well away from them.

meh... have a good day all!

FancyFancy · 07/06/2023 13:01

Sadly not ww - FancyMan was the organised one who started the whole process, so I'm just piggybacking on the plans he already started!

ApricotCrush · 07/06/2023 15:47

Afternoon. After a chilly morning it went lovely this afternoon.

Yes, I saw the pauldron had sold, she did well there. I bet it was exciting watching the bidding. Grin at TB buying it back.

I’ve decided I’m not going to recognise my birthday any more, but if I did this would be it. I’ve done a bit of grooming, hair and nails etc. and we’re going out for a meal with the family later to celebrate my non-birthday.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 07/06/2023 20:41

Evening wenches.

A non-birthday sounds just right Apricot. And the way it’s spent sounds wonderful. Happy non-birthday! Enjoy your meal.

<pushes Helen into cwtch cupboard>
<pushes Athos in too with cake>

Wasn’t much use at work because tired. So tonight I need an early night, although not much point if I can’t get to sodding sleep.

LetUsPrey · 08/06/2023 07:41

Morning wenches.

Sunshine trying to get through the clouds. Rubbish sleep and was woken up in the night by very painful calf cramp. Mostly running on fumes now I think.

<gives self a shake>

Have excellent happy days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/06/2023 08:26

Morning wenches. Last night was ConcertInLocalCityStraightFromWork Which was... ok? To be fair, the actual fans seemed to like it and I was just there in the role of supportive parent. It was a really good show (good staging, lighting etc), but the band's interaction was limited to "This is [insert song name]" and "Hello city/venue name]" whilst belting out an impressive number of songs and posing under lights. The support were much more fun and actually talked to the crowd and were generally quite fun. Having a bunch of utterly pissed 'lads' install themselves next to us and start their own drunken mosh pit didn't help since the first 20 minutes was taken up by me making very good use of my elbows and occasionally feet. Though my feet in trainers were fairly ineffective. Not that I mind a good mosh pit, but not when the participants are massively taller than me and too drunk to get served in a pub. Fortunately they moved slightly away from us before I cracked and attempted GHB.

Whatever. Today I have double-booked myself for exercise and work, and need to do taxi runs, so a disrupted day all round. Hurrah.

[exists stage left, impersonating eeyore]

PS - hope you had a lovely meal for your non-birthday Apricot Grin

PPS [decorates with fuel for LetUs]

ApricotCrush · 08/06/2023 17:14

Afternoon. Lovely sunny day but the wind is still cold. Very good for the washing though.

The meal last night was lovely. We went to the same restaurant where I fell the other week so I was able to see what I did, while hanging on to DH this time. Hmm

Your concert sounds a bit fraught Helen and today sounds hectic. Hopefully you’ll be able to relax later.

Hope you have a better night tonight LetUs.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 08/06/2023 19:18

Happy non-birthday Apes Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/06/2023 20:59

Evening wenches. I'm slumped on the sofa. I think I may do bath'n'book. Though that would involve moving. Hmm
<slumps more>
The sun did come out eventually, and there is washing on the line - mainly because DS got bombed by a seagull and his uniform needed a wash. (He is now busy on his guitar re-enacting last nights concert.)

LetUsPrey · 08/06/2023 21:03

Evening wenches.

Oh god Helen, people at concerts who are so drunk they can barely stand. I always think it’s a waste of a ticket. And they’re arseholes. Pleased MiniHelen enjoyed it.

Hurrah for lovely non-birthday meal Apricot!

We’ve been out for LovelyMIL’s birthday. Rather full now.

LetUsPrey · 09/06/2023 07:37

Morning wenches.

Sunny but breezy again. We have thunderstorms forecast for the weekend <tempts Fancy>

DS2 has one exam today and then some next and then he’s done.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/06/2023 08:11

Morning. Cloudy here but the sun's trying to break through. All animals are fed and I've watered the veg patch. Today I will be mostly working. Whoop, etc.
<snoozes on sofa>

Hope everyone has a good day.

FancyFancy · 09/06/2023 13:55

Hmm yes, I keep seeing those yellow thunderstorm warnings letus, and as the weekend gets closer, the probability gets more remote........

The most important news however <drumrolls........>

I beat my Duotrigordle record yesterday - 5m 21s with guesses remaining. I will never get better than that!

ApricotCrush · 09/06/2023 16:43

Afternoon. Beautiful day, I’ve been out on the lounger sudokuing and Magnuming. And I’ve dropped my phone on my foot and there’s now a big purple lump on it. Sad

Thanks WW.

Yay for MiniLetUs’s exams nearly done and LovelyMIL’s birthday meal.

Boo for MiniHelen being bombed by a seagull.

Congrats Fancy. I have no idea what a Duotrigordle is, but it sounds complicated. Thunderstorms forecast here too over the weekend which is a bit of a worry for the annual air show a few miles away on Sunday.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 09/06/2023 20:04

Evening wenches.

Hope they give your area <nae> a swerve in that case Apricot. Ouch at foot.

Haven’t done Duotrigordle for quite a while because I usually do it at work - at lunch obviously - and I can’t get enough flipping peace to concentrate. Bloody well done on that result Fancy!

<checks on snoozing Helen whilst CloneHelen does the work>

Knackered after today. Mad sneezing from manic pollen and very breezy not helping.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/06/2023 21:54

Evening all. I don't think we have thunder forecast - I hope not. I've got another LocalEvent tomorrow (so horribly early start). eathe rsays no - blazing hot sun though, so suncream and hats ahoy. That will make up for this time last week when I was on a beach with BabyElk in a hat and coat. Poor garden though - it desperately needs some rain Sad
Poor foot apricot Sad hope it's not hurting too much. And fingers corssed for the airshow.
Well done Fancy - I never time myself on it, so I've no idea what my record is.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, with/without thunder as appropriate!
