Berrie · 14/02/2008 13:06

Can't open an account with them for some reason. The password thingy is saying that my pasword is too short, even when I completely fill the space available .
Will have another go...

oggsfrog · 14/02/2008 19:51

Gaaaaaahhhhh!
It just keeps refreshing back to the same page...

oggsfrog · 14/02/2008 19:59

The help page just advised me to clear my cache, and then all cookies........
Still won't let me create an account and now I have to re-log in to everything. Bum.

binkleandflip · 14/02/2008 21:11

Well, we dropped the dog off for her op today It was actually most reassuring - the surgeon was lovely and charismatic with long george-clooney-esque greying hair - very sauve and very experienced and passionate about his job - he has done 1200 ops of this kind and says he does at least two a day so very common which has put my mind at rest.

I never knew I could find a man splattered in blood and other gook of questionable source attractive but he pulled it off effortlessly..

Anyhoo, am off to the theatre again tomorrow - Dr. Dolittle with Tommy Steele - try to conceal your jealousy ladies

Then off on our hols on Monday so am madly trying to sort the packing out - I wanted to have lost more weight by now (same old, same old eh?) but oh well, it will still be great!!

LyraSilvertongue · 14/02/2008 21:29

Binkle! Good to have you back. Where have you been?
That sounds realy reassuring about the op. He obviously knows what he's doing.

Berrie · 15/02/2008 07:57

Grooooaaaaaaaan!

Waves weakly at Binkle Oggs and Lyra (wonders what Zeb is doing) but crawls away to do this later as not fit for anything just now...

Prepare for tales of last minute dash to London...cocktails and a very late night...

Groooaaaaaan!

Zebedeedoodah · 15/02/2008 09:35

I'm back, and yes, I kept away 'cos you all smell, you're fat and I hate you
Nah! Actually I've been playing catch up at work and haring around all over the place. Ditto next week I'm afraid when I've got to go to a conference in London on Tuesday, which involves not being around until at least Wednesday afternoon again
Anyone know how I can get a last minute ticket for Joseph on Monday night, since granny's babysitting?!
Binkle, how's the dog? Did it go ok?

Last night was me and Hugh Grant. Now that was a very sad way to spend my anniversary and Valentine's Day.

oggsfrog · 15/02/2008 10:47

Binkle, I'm sure doggy will be fine and you'll come back to an ailment free and revitalised mutt .
(I'm trying to get my head around a George Clooneyesque, long grey haired, blood splattered vet being desirable , but hell, each to his own )
Enjoy Tommy, I'm sure it will be fab. Is it just you and dh or are you taking dd along? . I'm sure you will be overcome with lust, but do try to refrain from throwing your knickers at the stage .

Zeb, mmmm... Huge Grant in which incarnation? (not that he has a tremendous range , he just plays himself).
Hmm, not sure how you go about getting last minute tickets - you could try here, but the only tickets I can find for Mon are £75 each (how deep is your devotion? Not to mention your pocket?)

Lyra, have you had any more viewers? Is it pretty stressful?
We've only ever sold one house and we did it remotely. Gawd, the increase in prices! We sold our victorian terrace for about £40,000. 'Twas over 10 years ago but I bet it's worth a hell of a lot more than that now .

Right.

Berrie.
Spill.

What happened to the take away????? What happened to the fillet steak and salad????????
C'mon, c'mon....
What did you do????????

Zebedeedoodah · 15/02/2008 11:00

It was Music & Lyrics, an instantly forgetable romcom with very little to recommend it. Yes, he was doing his usual schtick, which is at least amusing, if only slightly (and he's not really aging all that well).

But I did see the rather more lovely Aussie Hugh in Van Helsing the night before though, which is a little less forgetable

Berrie · 15/02/2008 11:16

Groooooooaaaaaaan...

Ok...

Brother was having a catwalk show and party at the Design Museum for his new collection / bespoke service. We couldn't go as the train tickets were too expensive and babysitting difficult. My Mum decided not to go as she is nervous of travelling alone and in London. Turns out my Dad was on holiday and my Brother's wife was too ill at the last minute. No-one from my family was going and my brother was miffed and upset.
At 3pm when my Mum came to babysit while I tutored, she said let's go, I'll pay. I cancelled my last lesson and we rushed with minutes to spare and caught the train. All I can say is thank goodness for our London trip and all the months I spent planning what I was going to wear etc cause it was all hanging in the wardrobe! I wore the red dress I had planned to wear in the evening.
At the party they had a champagne fountain, sushi, tapas and a chocolate fountain with cocktail named after my brother..all free...groooaaaan. I over indulged, not bad since we could only be there less than an hour and a half. It was really really lovely and the poshest 'do' I've ever been to(Berrie imagines the others yawning with recognition at such an event - I thought it was great anyway)
Anyway we raced back and I got to sleep sometime around 3am which is surely very late even by ordinary people's standards?

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 15/02/2008 11:52

Mixing with the glitterati no less .
Sounds like a fabulous evening (of course I attend these sort of do's on a weekly basis so I'm rather blasé about them now )
What does your brother do?
Link to a picture of your dress please.
Describe the food in detail. Minute detail please .
A champagne fountain , a cocktail called "Berrie's Brother" .
Wow. A night to remember then?

Zebedeedoodah · 15/02/2008 11:57

How the other half live Berrie. All this 'Londoning' is going to go to your head, you sophisti-cat you

Berrie · 15/02/2008 12:39

No link to dress I'm afraid. It was in the Monsoon sale. It's red fine knit wool with a long bow at the front. It's really nice actually but I need my spanx.

After the champagne fountain there were big jars of sweets and you could have a scoop in a paper bag. I didn't btw. I couldn't possible describe the sushi as I am not in the know but there was one raw fish with rice and avacado thingy that I liked. There were strips of raw pink ginger, and other little fishy ricey things - all delicious !
The tapas was various bits of meat and sausage, big fat most delicious olives I have ever had, er...cheese things...bread and roasted pepper things...nutty things...er...
At the enormous chocolate fountain you could dip in all sorts of chopped fruit, marshmallows, doughnuts, profiteroles but I didn't partake. Lastly there was the freeflowing blue cocktails...grooan (it's getting smaller)
I particulary enjoyed the catwalk show the 2 male models were very nice and dear Bro helpfully arranged a swimwear set (he designs glasses by the way)I had to stop myself whooping at this point lest I lower the tone.
Lastly I have never, ever been amongst such a concentration of lot of dishy men in one place...even some ones with Lee hair...sigh...if only we could have stayed longer

OP posts:
Berrie · 15/02/2008 12:39

Weighed in yet Oggs?

OP posts:
Berrie · 15/02/2008 12:43

How about weekly loser has to send something through the post to the winner? Only something very silly that will go in a normal envelope...and you have to jog to the post box ...no forget the jogging bit
And not a bar of chocolate!

OP posts:
Zebedeedoodah · 15/02/2008 12:59

I think I can categorically claim this week's prize. I'm having an eating week

LyraSilvertongue · 15/02/2008 13:56

I dunno, you take a girl to London and you can't keep her away!
Berrie, it sounds fabulous. Free champagne and cocktails! How did you resist the chocolate fountain?
It's exciting to do something spontaneous like that even if you do suffer for it the next day.
You know, I used to live almost next door to the Design Museum, in the flat above all the restaurants. It's such a fabulous area. I still miss it but we had a one-bedroom flat with a balcony and no garden so somewhat unsuitable for the DSs.
I've spent all afternoon baking and icing bloody gingerbread men for DS1's class's cake sale.
