Thread 173 Shock. Break out the duvets and huddle round the scorching hot brazier HBF-of-choice.

Yet more domestic drivel and shameless perving.

Morning all. Sunrise today was all pinky-orangey-purply and now grey.

Killer kitty has demanded a cuddle and then tried to kill me, and the world is turning a usual. We also need to do a food shop today - I know because DH keeps telling me.

Still not finished Strike and DH is out again tonight, and we're all out tomorrow, so goodness knows when we'll get it watched. Never mind Dark Materials... just as well it's Xmas and we have time off work soon!

Today promises to be a manic shitshow work wise - supposed to be my last day, but still waiting for some info to be sent to me. Am also running late as FancyCat has been limping terribly today, so I had to squeeze in an emergency vet visit - she has meds so hopefully that will make her more comfortable poor thing. All in all, probably a late finish. I am at least working from home today.

letus do you remember this sketch from the Kenny Everett show? I feel the catch phrase is apt for us both.......

ApricotCrush · 21/12/2022 16:37

Afternoon. Lovely sunny day.

I went to Sainsbury's to do the last food shop, but since coming home I've thought of two things I've forgotten. <sigh>

However, on a positive note, DGD's present which has come from overseas and was caught up in Royal Mail's sorting office, has arrived. I've already warned her that it might not come in time, so that's good.

Oh Fancy hope FancyCat is alright.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 21/12/2022 19:14

Hope FancyCat gets better soon ❤️❤️❤️

LetUsPrey · 21/12/2022 19:39

Evening wenches.

Ah Fancy, Kenny spoke a lot of sense Grin, particularly bearing in mind today a really arsey email from someone who referred to an email they’d sent me (they hadn’t) asking again that they be sent something (not even asked me once for it) and having a right old strop about paying for something. Unfortunately for this person I’m quite good at updating records with emails and phone calls, so basically don’t lie and try to drop me in it.

Hope FancyCat’s okay.

I did similar this morning Apricot. Went into a Sainsburys and got some shopping, went to M&S and checked my list <nto> and saw I’d forgotten something so had to go back in.

Good news re the present arriving.

How many times did MrHelen remind you about the shopping Helen? And did you shove him in one of the giant freezers?

Nice decorations Wicked Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/12/2022 22:21

Evening all. Today has been another round of spreadsheet reconciliations and concentration while I try to merge two systems into one.

FFS at other work annoyances. Complete CBF at lying arseholes though.

I hope that FancyCat is ok Sad Killer Kitty had a very puffy face last week, but it settled down without any vet involvement thank goodness.

No shopping has been done, and no laundry because it's been miserable weather. I'll have to do some tomorrow, rain or not.

Morning wenches.

Seems to be extra dark this morning. Have woken up with stiff neck and hips. It huuuurrrtttttts.

Anyway, two more days to go. Let’s see what bullshit they can come up with before end of tomorrow.

<clones Helen>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/12/2022 10:41

Morning. Grey and miserable here. Not actually raining but it looks like there should be a persistant mizzle outside.

Still, the washing is on, and another day of spreadsheets and domestic meh is underway.

Afternoon.
Finally finished just before 11pm yesterday, still hadn't got all the information needed through, so have already had one work phone call today & more expected Xmas Hmm

Poor FancyCat was very sick yesterday afternoon, hopefully a reaction to the meds rather than anything else, so there has just been a return visit to the vet, an anti-emetic jab & some tablets in case of stomach inflammation. Am supposed to be going away over Christmas, so it's doubly stressful. In the last year and a bit I have not had much luck with holidays.

Ho hum

ApricotCrush · 22/12/2022 16:14

Afternoon. Dull and damp here today.

I took DH for his covid booster this afternoon in my car to give it a bit of a run for the battery. When we got to the walk-in centre at one minute past two, it was closed. DH looked it up on his phone and confirmed that, yes, they closed at two. Hmm So we had to go to another centre in town. Never mind, it's done now.

Two more days to go and I'm getting to the panicky stage.

Oh dear Fancy hope FancyCat gets better soon.

Also hope work wasn't too bad for everyone.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/12/2022 17:47

<cwtch> for Fancy and Fancycat Sad Hope she's perked up a bit with the anti-emetic. Also hope MrA sails through the booster with no side-effects, what a pain about arriving just after the first centre closed <le sigh>

I have done a bit of work, but no-one is replying to email any more, so I gave up and read, and then did some gardening/house tidying. Plus delivered a few xmas cards.

Off out for a quiz night tonight. I'd rather be snoozing in front of a fire to be honest. I'm sure it will be fun once we're there.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 22/12/2022 18:03

She's still not great, but has eaten a little and moving a little more.

Fingers crossed MrA is fine after his jab

Ooh I do love a pub quiz helen, have a fab evening

What fuckery did work manage to come up with today letus?

LetUsPrey · 22/12/2022 20:06

Evening wenches.

Poor little FancyCat and poor you Fancy. Really hope she’s on the mend soon.

Also love a pub quiz. We had a festive lunch today and one of the activities turned into a music quiz. Won a bottle of wine. Good luck Helen.

Here’s hoping MrApricot doesn’t have any side effects to his booster.

Work was quite busy. Trying to contact a client who hasn’t replied to any emails, can’t write to their address and they don’t currently have their phone. Also trying to contact a Court - 10 minutes holding yesterday, 20 today, haven’t managed to speak to an actual person yet. Have emailed - no response yet. I mean, I like a challenge but there are limits.

Had intended to wrap the remaining few gifts tonight. Struggling to summon energy to even move.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/12/2022 23:22

Go wenches! Bottle of wie for LetUs and 1st place for our team Grin

<cbf> at people who don't answer phones, and gentle (cautious) <cwtch> for FancyCat

Morning wenches.

Excellent Helen!

Friday at last. Hoping traffic is on the quieter side but I’m not sure as I work in a quite big shopping town. No school traffic though now.

DS1 came home last night. We weren’t expecting him until tomorrow so they decided to surprise us, which was lovely.

Everything crossed for FancyCat.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/12/2022 12:57

Hurrah for DS1 being home! DH is wanting to tidy up; this process consists of him asking me if I knew we hade a box of xyz upstairs (yes, I do), and what to do with everything. FML. (Much as I love him, etc.)

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 23/12/2022 16:59

Yay for DS1 being home letus, that is the sort of surprise that is welcome Xmas Smile

How's the tidying going helen? Grin

FancyCat seems a bit better again today - has been asking for food, which has all stayed down, and has even jumped up onto her cat tree platform, so fingers crossed all will be well to go away. Lovely neighbours will pop in to check on her.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/12/2022 17:05

Fancy - is this you? Wink
Glad to hear the FancyCat has perked up - fingers crossed she's on the mend.

I don't think any tidying has been done - I went to DF's to ice the christmas cake (where I burnt a finger slightly on the saucepan), DH says he's been wrapping non-stop since I went out. I have just put a log on the fire (and burnt another finger slightly). <Wraps self in Athos and cotton wool. And a fire blanket.>

Hopefully we're going to binge on the rest of Strike tonight.

Afternoon. Rain, rain and more rain.

I did the final bit of shopping this morning and if there's anything I've forgotten, tough.

DH is feeling a bit off and headachey but doesnt know whether it's the jab or the root canal he had on Monday. He's phoned the dentist who has left a prescription for some antibiotics just in case.

Yay for successful quizzes, LetUsDS1 coming home and FancyCat improving.

We're going out with friends tonight but I really cba. I'll enjoy it when I get there.
