Thread 173 Shock. Break out the duvets and huddle round the scorching hot brazier HBF-of-choice.

Yet more domestic drivel and shameless perving.

Afternoon.

Much wind and rain here too, so at least it feels like a good day to be sat in a dry office.

I am jealous ww - I've never had landlord/ladies as nice as that. One once brought round a video recorder for me that I suspect fell off the back of a lorry

The decorator is back so the house is in a state of upheaval again, it's only for this week though so not too bad.

ApricotCrush · 12/04/2023 17:02

Afternoon. Sunny first thing so I did a wash load and put it out only for it to pour down after an hour. It’s now languishing on the radiators and as the heating is off until this evening it won’t have dried much. Hmm

How lovely of your landladies WW.

Grin at the video recorder Fancy. Hope the decorating goes well.

LetUsPrey · 12/04/2023 19:11

Evening wenches.

Rain nearly all day. All of the rain and then some more. Got a bit soggy walking to the car.

Grin at KillerKitty nearly getting the automatic blame for kerfuffling birds.

I bet HBFs are good at keeping count of things so would be extra helpful in a knitting situation. Obviously.

Hope decorating goes smoothly Fancy.

<sends HBFs to Apricot’s to smoulder at the washing>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/04/2023 20:42

Evening.

We've had very nice weather until about 4pm, at which point we started getting heavy rain and hail showers.

I'm impressed by how adept HBFs are at domestic stuff - knitting, laundry, Aramis could certainly smoulder up a hot meal just by looking at it.

In timekeeping fiascos, I left work early to pick up DS. Then I went back to work because I'd left an hour early Blush. Then I got to swear very enthusiastically at our useless bloody finance system.

Morning wenches.

They’re very handy <tae> at everything Helen.

I think we have the equivalent document management system to your finance system, or at least it was yesterday.

Winds overnight turned out to be not as bad as forecast thankfully. Doesn’t look terribly pleasant out there though.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/04/2023 09:40

Morning. It's windy and sunny here and I'd rather be in bed really. <le sigh>

I bet HBFs would be handy with a paintbrush too. Though this is all academic- we'd have much better uses for their time. Grin

Afternoon. I got another wash load out this morning and it was almost dry when there was a downpour. Got soaked getting it in. There’s been hail this afternoon.

The shower in the bathroom has stopped working and all the plumbing stuff is in the airing cupboard so it has all had to be emptied into the bath so DH can sort it out. <sigh>

I’ve also put my back out. I think it’s from the bed in the caravan which is perfectly comfortable, but my back doesn’t like it. <moan, moan>

FancyFancy · 13/04/2023 20:19

Evening
Another day when I was glad to be mostly indoors - every so often the sun comes out & all looks bright & glorious then the heavens open. Rinse and repeat. Decorating going well so far, am looking forward to getting my front room back at the weekend. I think FancyCat will be too, she was a fidget yesterday evening.

LetUsPrey · 13/04/2023 20:25

Evening wenches.

The sort of windy today where even walking from the car to the house made me look like I’d not had a brush through my hair all day. Wonder if the hail’s working its way to us.

<directs Apricot to massage therapy area> HBFs will be along shortly.

Went to work, didn’t shout at a colleague for being a useless, bare faced liar.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/04/2023 21:41

Evening all. It's been sunny most of the day here, but cold still. I have done lifting and shifting stuff with Dad which made it seem a lot less cold outside, then worked and had a visit from cute 4 yo. who managed to entice DS out to play - he even cracked a smile Shock Grin

Sympathies on your back apricot I'm trying to persuade DH that we need a new mattress because the current one, though there's nothing wrong with it, just doesn't feel very comfortable any more. (And my back is not the young flexible thing that it was.)

FFS at your colleague LetUs - I'm impressed with your self control. The HBFs are unimpressed on your behalf.

Also, MN seems to have a separate gif upload now, but you can only have gif OR image, not both. And you can't upload a gif you have - only choose a giphy one. So that's no use.
Do ours actually work as GIFs now? It does in the preview... <tester...>

Morning all. It's sunny outside with high cloud, and there's been a slight ground frost overnight. also, forgot to say, we saw a swallow at the weekend! Seems a bit early, but hurrah!

Tonight I have a work leaving do, followed by a 'reliving my youth' gig in NearbyCity

Morning wenches.

Well that’s a bit of a <harrumph> moment Helen. <harrumphs>

Shock at MiniHelen smiling - it can be a challenge with them

Friday and it seems brighter today so hurrah for that.

ApricotCrush · 14/04/2023 14:57

Afternoon. Rain all day, no washing done.

I went to Sainsbury’s to do a food shop and whilst there a woman behind bashed into me. I turned to give her a dirty look only to see DD and DGS grinning at me. We often meet in there randomly.

Have a lovely evening Helen, and everyone else.

LetUsPrey · 14/04/2023 18:53

Evening wenches.

Raaaaiiiinnnnnnnn.

Have a fantastic evening Helen

Grin at the almost dirty look to DD and DGS in the supermarket.

DH is out tonight and DS1 is away for a few days so it’s just me and DS2 for the evening.

FancyFancy · 14/04/2023 21:32

Evening
Working from home today as FancyCat had a vet's appointment for her arthritis meds & blood pressure follow up - she was very well behaved. Had that been ScaredyCat there would have been blood on the walls Grin

The novelty of the rain has worn off now, the garden looks green & I want to go out & potter round the garden & go for a walk without getting soaked and/or blown away.

I would also like attendant hbfs every time I need to express disapproval. Preferably drawing their swords as they accompany me strutting, Queenie style, down a corridor looking menacing. I have a gif for that. On my old computer <sighs>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/04/2023 09:03

Morning wenches. Excellent gig last night - much singing along, not enough jumping about, but my knees probably wouldn't have coped well with that. It was a bit of a late night, and DS has dragged himself out to SportingActivity looking (unsurprisingly) as if he needs more sleep. (He was spotted smiling again though yesterday.)

<arf> at rearranging a <cbf> into a 'nice to see you' response to random supermarket encounters Grin

It's all very wet outside - I'm meeting a friend later with an instruction to bring wellies.

I know the gif you mean Fancy, but since it doesn't work have a tiny picture of it instead... (It's definitely a valid ambition though.) Grin

I bet you can be scary as hell Apes but also looking fabulous at the same time 😍

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 15/04/2023 11:09

I actually still have my VCR and some tapes, like a reminder of the olden days Hmm

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 15/04/2023 11:13

Glad you had a good time Helen 😀

It’s lovely weather outside so I feel like I should do something sporty so I’m on the couch with Fräsan. I’ve been to the supermarket and also bought wine so at least I’ve done something useful.

Can’t believe I’ll be in London in three weeks! Can’t wait 😍

LetUsPrey · 15/04/2023 11:56

Morning wenches.

That’s soon come round Wicked! Well done on the essential activity.

That is an excellent idea Fancy. I shall be mentally using that image for when I’m cross at work and going round the corridors. I may even give a little ho hey Grin May I suggest you do the same.

Glad you had a great time Helen. Well done to MiniHelen on getting out to sportingactivity. Very wet here too but at least it’s stopped raining so there’s a wash on the line.

Have been into town on a mostly unsuccessful shopping trip. Wanted some bits and bobs from a haberdashery shop. It’s closed down.

ApricotCrush · 15/04/2023 16:58

Afternoon. Cloudy with some sun here. Washing on line, haven’t checked if it’s dry yet.

Grin WW. Yay for wine.

Glad the gig was good Helen.

Shame about the shop LetUs, we don’t have a haberdashery shop round these parts either. Sad

Hope FancyCat is alright.

LetUsPrey · 15/04/2023 19:20

Evening wenches.

Couple of loads dried on the line today. Got back from shopping, did various house jobs with the plan of the then sitting out in the sun with my knitting. Was very virtuous and got housework stuff done, went to to sit out and the sun went in. Have made good progress with current project though.

There was a lovely fabric shop with a great selection of associated bits and bobs in NearbyVillage but that’s gone solely online.

Might try first episode of Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? tonight. I watched all of Magpie Murders last weekend.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/04/2023 19:58

Evening all.

It's been a rather lovely day here - the wind is still a bit cool, but the sun's been out all day, and I've been gardening and then seeing a friend. Tomorrow the chickens are unleashed and allowed outside again because (presumably) the flu-ridden birds have all migrated elsewhere? Hmm
