Thread 173 Shock. Break out the duvets and huddle round the scorching hot brazier HBF-of-choice.

Yet more domestic drivel and shameless perving.

Morning wenches.

<gentle cwtch> re painful tooth Apricot. Hope it’s all sorted tomorrow. Pub lunch sounds nice.

Did the hunting/gathering go well Helen?

I’ve ironed and visited - including bonus surprise from baby! - made flapjacks and finished the fingerless mittens. Now not doing much for the rest of the evening.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/03/2023 21:22

Evening all. Thank goodness the tooth is coming out at last apricot. I hope it all goes well.

My hunting expedition was a success - I stalked a rolled lamb breast through the chilled section, and brought it down with a pincer movement between a well placed shopping trolley and my credit card Grin Unfortunately, during cooking I managed to pick up one of the dishes out of the oven - without wearing oven gloves Sad One sore finger later... (it's ok, all slathered in anti-burn cream)

<cbf> at MrA - what does he think he is? A Teenage boy on a growth spurt? <side-eyes DS>

Also <cbf> at Monday - again? Already?! FFS.

Hurrah for surprise baby visit LetUs Grin always nice to get baby cuddles and squidges.

Evening, could've sworn I'd posted yestrerday, but apparently not. Have mostly been pottering in the garden, filling some new planters and putting in some plants - when it's not raining that is. Have also made a big pot of soup Smile Oh and watched lots of Downton - historical tosh at it's finest Grin A decided lack of faf, but the clothes are gorgeous.

LetUsPrey · 27/03/2023 07:41

Morning wenches.

Noticeably colder here but hurrah for lighter nights!

Ouch Helen. HBFs available as ever to kiss it better.

Excellent day Fancy. I’m waiting for series 5 to start on ITV3. I think they’ve just finished series 3 so it shouldn’t be long now. I have borrowed the box set but my brain tells me it’s too much effort to have to change discs so I’ll wait.

Running a bit behind so better get a move on.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/03/2023 09:58

Morning all. Sunrise which rather scenic this morning, but has been followed by sleet and hail and rain and general chilly unpleasantness.

The finger is not too bad. There's going to be dry scaly bit a some point soon, but it's not blistered up or gone puffy or anything.

This morning has mostly been taxi-ing people about (dawn chorus sounded quite pleasant), and this afternoon will be a repeat I think (with less birdsong!) <le sigh> Hurrah for freelancing and being able to work around stuff. Best crack on though. Hope everywench has a good day.

Afternoon. Well, the tooth has gone after a rather traumatic experience. The dentist couldn’t stop it bleeding and had to resort to the suction thing to mop it up. Shock It stopped eventually and bless him, he cleaned my face up with a damp tissue, saying he didn’t want me to go out looking like I’d been in a fight. Grin It was painful for a couple of hours but feels alright now.

<snort> at Helen’s rolled lamb breast hunting. Also teenage boy on a growth spurt. Grin

You finished those mittens quickly LetUs.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 27/03/2023 19:08

It’s a snowstorm here, great.

Great that the tooth is gone Apes, but Confused at the blood.

LetUsPrey · 27/03/2023 19:33

Evening wenches.

Good that it’s gone Apricot but eeek at the blood. Make sure you take it easy.

The mittens were very straightforward to be honest and seemed to do the trick today as I could really tell a difference when I took them off.

Hail and sleet Helen?! Snowstorm Wicked?! A big no thank you to those.

The washing machine is beeping away and wants me to empty it. Think I’ll just ignore it for a bit longer.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/03/2023 22:03

FMAL wenches. Off on taxi-run part god-knows-what, and I was waiting behind another car at a junction. They pull away, but sadly pull away in reverse instead of 1st gear, and ram into my frantically hooting car. And my 'wonderful' insurance company isn't answering their claims line. F.M.A.L.

I am 100% done with people driving into my car Angry

(The driver was mortified and we're all fine; I am channelling my annoyance at my useless insurance company.)

Glad that the mittens have done their job LetUs.
Wicked - wrap up warm in HBFs
Apricot Shock oh that doesn't sound good. I have a dentist trip tomorrow with a broken tooth Sad I do hope it's less traumatic that yours Sad

FancyFancy · 27/03/2023 22:52

Yikes apricot that sounds unpleasant, I hope the healing process is speedy.

Boo to snow ww and to car crashes helen, relieved you're ok. Is the heating still not fixed letus?

My day has been pleasantly uneventful in comparison, FancyMan was here, we pottered about, went for a walk and had a chuckle with the neighbours - there was a lady crouching at the end of their drive for some time, she seemed perfectly ok but rather slunk off when the neighbour came out to put something in the bin. I did wonder if she was stealing plants, but nothing appeared to have been dug up so we decided that maybe she was from a rival Britain in Bloom town & was sabotaging mytown after our success last year Grin <removes tinfoil hat> Grin

Anyhow, tomorrow we are off to BigCity to see a film

LetUsPrey · 28/03/2023 07:33

Morning wenches.

Oooo intrigue in the gardens Fancy! Enjoy day out.

Oh fucksake at car crash Helen. Pleased you’re okay. Hope dentist goes smoothly.

Today I have sore hip and back so I might actually do some stretches for it tonight.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/03/2023 08:15

Morning all. I've just managed to get hold of my insurance company, so that's a better start to the day.
Am a bit achy this morning, but no more than usual #OldAndCreaky

Hope that everywench has a good day and that Fancy has a fun trip to BigCity and the film.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 28/03/2023 16:39

Afternoon. Rain all morning and there's a really cold wind. No snow though, thank goodness. Where's spring?

How annoying about the car crash Helen. Hope the dentist went well.

Fascinating about the neighbour Fancy. Confused Hope you enjoy the film.

Nothing going on here.

LetUsPrey · 28/03/2023 19:03

Evening wenches.

<restocks linaments and oils and advises HBFs of same for Helen>

Rain all the live long day here.

DS2 being a shouty snappy PITA this evening. I may go upstairs and read.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/03/2023 21:10

Evening all. It's doing the rainy thing here too.

I recommend a hot bath and book LetUs - including linaments, oils and HBFs.

I AM ON THE TRAIN 😁

Have had a lovely day - relived my youth while watching the film, a re-release of Dance Craze. I last saw it when it was first released in 1981. I thought my sister and I went but she can't remember it, so I think my poor mum must have been strong-armed into taking me 😂. We then had an unexpectedly fab meal and ended the day with a talk - the venue had been kept under wraps for security reasons until this afternoon, when we found out it was in the Houses of Parliament!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/03/2023 21:44

Ooooh - that sounds very mysterious, fun and exciting Fancy Grin Well done that wench.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/03/2023 07:27

Morning all. It's a bit grey and meh outside.

DH didn't sleep well, so neither did I <le sigh>

Dentist yesterday - yes, they can fix the tooth. They've booked me in for the repair, it won't be long... end of May. <eye roll> Though I'm, sure they would have squeezed it in sooner if it had been hurting.

Hope everywench has a good day.

LetUsPrey · 29/03/2023 07:36

Morning wenches l

That sounds an excellent day Fancy! Love the secret venue part!

Bit of a pain to have to wait Helen but at least it’s not hurting.

Seems a bit warmer here which is just as well because we are still without heating at the office. We’re hoping it’s fixed before the end of the week.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 29/03/2023 07:40

Wow, that sounds fantastic Fancy!

I woke up at 4 with backpain and stomach issues, the blob have arrived, yay.

Also -11 this morning.

ApricotCrush · 29/03/2023 16:49

Afternoon wenches. Grey and drizzly here.

Minus 11 WW??? Shock Hope you’re feeling better now.

What a lovely day Fancy.

I’ve finished another jumper today and done some ironing that’s been hanging around for weeks days.

LetUsPrey · 29/03/2023 19:09

Evening wenches.

I prescribe chocolate and 🍷 Wicked. And ignoring the -11.

Another jumper Apricot! Bloody hell! Going to carry on with the project I’ve got on the go and then start a baby cardigan.

Watched the last episode of Endeavour with DS2. It was excellent.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 29/03/2023 21:17

I had some lovely Ibuprofren so feeling much better now 😀

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/03/2023 21:36

Evening all.

Financial year end is a PITA. On the other hand, I've ditched my insurance and am dealing direct with the other driver's ones, since they're paying for everything, and are a model of efficency. (So far.) I had no idea that you could just notify your insurance of an incident and use the other party.

Also, randomly, I've had an email from Turtle Doves advertising their 'seconds' sale. <tin hat, etc>

It's doing the rain thing here, though not cold, so that's not too bad.

LetUsPrey · 30/03/2023 07:27

Morning wenches.

Hope everything continues to go smoothly Helen.

Apparently the heating at work is fixed! Woohoooo!

Not really loving the idea of today but I suppose one must.
