Thread 173 Shock. Break out the duvets and huddle round the scorching hot brazier HBF-of-choice.

Yet more domestic drivel and shameless perving.

Morning all.

Grey and a bit damp and gloomy outside. I liked yesterday's sun, could we have some more of that during the day please? I don't mind the rain, especially overnight. But I'd like to wake up in the morning and know it's actually the morning.

So far today I've had to clear up cat vom, and mouse stomach, and smeared bllod. All hail our furry overlords. Hmm

I just put my breakfast down to see DS off to school, came back in and found fucking furry overlord on the table helping himself to my breakfast Angry Chickens are happy with their bonus breakfast scraps though.

Morning wenches.

Tales of The Furry Overlords. I can see the illustrations now of IdiotKitty helping himself to breakfast with a cherry “morning!”

Hope FancyCat’s okay.

Don’t really want to go to work but I suppose I must.

FancyFancy · 16/03/2023 13:53

FancyCat seemed fine this morning thanks, it will be a while before I'll see a difference apparently - we shall see. She also has blood pressure meds, so that starts tonight. Hope she won't notice the tablet in her food......

One advantage of her being so food obsessed is that she is predictable - I never leave food unattended with her around. Not since the time I left the room for a millisecond & on my return was heard to shout 'are you licking my biscuit?' 😱

ApricotCrush · 16/03/2023 17:24

Afternoon. Miserable day again, raining now.

Regarding the three bears <nto>. Teddy2 was introduced to DGS when he was about 18 months old and Teddy1 needed a wash. He looked him all over, sniffed him and threw him to the floor. It was a ‘that’s not my teddy’ moment. It’s captured on video. Anyway he got used to him and they are alternated for washing purposes.

EmergencyTeddy (Emerge for short) was never needed and we told DGS about him when he was about 8 so now he comes out of his cupboard on occasion when DGS is here. He is also best friends with Teddy1 or Teddy2 whoever is in use at the time. The three of them were once all photographed together which was pretty traumatic for them we’re all bloody daft. Grin

Eeek at cat vom and breakfast pinching Helen.

Good luck with FancyCat’s tablet Fancy. I tried to give Misty a worming tablet in her food once but she chucked it onto the floor. I put it back and she ate around it leaving it in the middle of her dish. When she had her check up the vet just opened her mouth and dropped it in. She wouldn’t let me do that. Shock

LetUsPrey · 16/03/2023 19:58

Evening wenches.

That’s so adorable about the bears Apricot. Also <snort> at three bears <nto>

Good luck with the medication for FancyCat. LetUsCat sounds similar to Misty. Would put a tablet in his wet food - nope. Would put it in his biscuits and it looked just like his biscuits - there’d just be the tablet sitting in the bowl.

GrinGrin at are you licking my biscuit

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/03/2023 22:03

I used to crush tablets and pour the powder into cat mouths, when tablets were needed. It was about the only way to get them in. The worming stuff is now done with a spot-on treatment, thank goodness. (And Idiot Kitty is unimpressed with that!) Fingers crossed for FancyCat's medicine all working.

LOL at the photo shoot for the bears.

Morning wenches.

Friiiiddaaaayyyyyy! Not raining at the moment but I doubt that will last.

Have excellent days wenches

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/03/2023 07:51

Morning all. Not raining here either, but I don't have a clue what the forecast is.

Everything is fed, both cats are asleep.

Um.

Ditto to everyone having a good day.

It's raining.

Afternoon. Sunshine and showers here.

I went to do the food shop at Lidl this morning, then went a walk round the road. Then ironing which I haven’t finished. <sigh> That’s it really.

Have a good evening all. Wine

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/03/2023 18:18

TFIF Wine

That stuff about the bears is adorable Apes Smile

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/03/2023 18:20

Hope FancyCat is doing well ❤

LetUsPrey · 17/03/2023 20:07

Evening wenches.

I like the sound of your day Apricot.

Lovely weather to just after lunch and then raaaaiiiinnn.

We’re watching Endeavour and I’ll shortly be having a drink.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/03/2023 21:18

Today I have been spreadsheeting and financial profiling. Do try to control your excitement. Hmm

Now I'm eating chocolate on the sofa, and I think I may head for a bath before bed.

<lines up Wine Gin etc. on the bar>

Morning wenches.

Spreadsheeting and financial profiling Helen? Wild times.

Not much planned for today.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/03/2023 14:11

Afternoon all. I have been hoovering and waiting at my father's for a delivery which didn't come. On the plus side, his house is thoroughly hoovered Grin

Off to dig up the garden again now (cue more rain, probably).

ApricotCrush · 18/03/2023 16:26

Afternoon. Sunshine and showers again.

I coloured my hair this morning first time since November and then DH cut it.

DD and Co came round this afternoon for a cuppa and a chat. That’s the excitement for the day.

Curry from the freezer later. Wine

FancyFancy · 18/03/2023 16:47

Afternoon. DD is back for a couple of nights, so yesterday was pink fizz & fish and chips night. Didn't get round to the trash tv - that'll be tonight. DD is cooking me a Mothers' Day meal this evening as she is working tomorrow. So today we have been to the shops so I could buy the food for tonight Grin It will be nice not having to cook though & it's only vegetarian noodles, so not expensive.

FancyCat seems ok thanks, and so far is eating her meds that I've hidden in her wet food which is a relief. I can usually manage to get worming tablets down her as it's only once every few months - if I'm quick I can do it before she's realised what's going on. Regular meds are another matter altogether as she's prepared for resistance!

How're the new chickens getting on helen?

Love the multiple teddies Grin DS had a back-up Lamby that fortunately was never needed.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/03/2023 19:37

Evening all.

The chickens seem to be settling down - Scraggy1&2 are out together with the rest of the flock in the mornings now, rather than hiding inside.

Hurrah for Pink'n'fish'n'chips and food being cooked for you. DH and DS came home with a bunch of flower today, which I was mid-gardening (bamboo is extracted, plus more brambles, and other general gardening). I think I'll be soaking in the bath later to try and stop my back protesting too much.

LetUsPrey · 18/03/2023 19:38

Evening wenches.

Not done much today. Put some washing on the line - first time this year - and it even got an extra rinse.

At least you managed to be productive Helen so that’s something. (And more than I’ve done)

<admires Apricot’s new do>

What a lovely way to spend a couple of days/evenings Fancy. Good news so far re FancyCat. Don’t recall either DC being particularly attached to a toy which is just as well as we left a Humphrey elephant behind in a Scottish hotel when DS1 was little. To be honest, he probably wouldn’t have bothered because laid back child. DS2 however - he’d have been like Liam Neeson in Taken … “I will find you”

LetUsPrey · 19/03/2023 10:37

Morning wenches. Just at mother’s house. Have been given 💐 and a bottle of vodka so that’s my Mother’s Day sorted.

Usual Sunday will follow. May start series 5 Downton Abbey with the ironing.

FancyFancy · 19/03/2023 13:13

They know you so well letus - vodka for Mothers' Day Grin

I sort of had Mother's Day yesterday as DD cooked dinner & we had a nice evening of beer, food & trash tv. DS has at least remembered to message me today, although that seems to be as much as he has remembered to do!

Downton & ironing will probably be my evening too. This afternoon will be chores - very exciting.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/03/2023 14:48

Afternoon all. I have had a card and some chocolates. I have also got two loads of washing on the line, and one in the machine. And I've been cooking and prepping for tea. Thrilling stuff Hmm I may also go out and attack the garden.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 19/03/2023 16:29

Afternoon. Weather pretty much the same.

Glad that Scraggy1&2 are settling in to their surroundings.

Lovely to have a meal cooked for you Fancy.

Yay for vodka and chocolates and cards. The DC came round this afternoon with presents and cards and we’re going out for a carvery tonight.
