Thread 173 Shock. Break out the duvets and huddle round the scorching hot brazier HBF-of-choice.

Yet more domestic drivel and shameless perving.

Can’t believe it’s Monday tomorrow already. Whyyyy?

Fräsan and I slept in this morning 😀

Done some tidying, changed the bed so Fräsan claimed it at once as usual 😂

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 12/03/2023 20:00

Watching Border Force Sweden, some of the officers are quite hot Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/03/2023 22:00

Can't image why the birds would have objected to FancyCat joining you Fancy Grin Our two mooched about outside for a bit today while I was attacking brambles and bamboo. I canned the walk idea and just flaked out after digging out about 10 foot of bamboo root, and now it's much later than I realised but I'm going to soak in the bath anyway.

We've got two new chickens - Sgraggy1 and Scraggy2. Rescue hens that are mid-moult, hence their 'names' Hopefully they'll start laying again in a few weeks.

Morning wenches.

It’s on Sky Movies or Cinema or whatever it’s called these days Apricot. Free if you have those channels as part of your tv package.

Sounds a good way to spend a day Wicked.

Hope an HBF or two popped by to help work out any knots <tae> Helen. Awwww at new rescue chickens.

Already bored of Monday.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/03/2023 07:50

Morning all. Monday seems to be overdoing it on the wind front Hmm IdiotKitty is being an idiot (and now I know why my Christmas Cactus has been disintegrating). Also, tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiired and got a headache. Woe is me, etc.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 13/03/2023 16:50

Afternoon. Pouring down all day which is depressing and I can’t get motivated to do anything.

Ah, we don’t have Sky Movies LetUs, I’ll have to wait for it to crop up somewhere else.

Awww at new chickens, keep us posted about them Helen. Hope the headache didn’t last.

LetUsPrey · 13/03/2023 18:48

Evening wenches.

Rain all the live long day here too. Hope the headache didn’t linger Helen.

That’s a shame about having to wait Apricot but I’m sure it’ll be on before you know it.

I’m so tired. Being able to sleep properly might help.

FancyFancy · 13/03/2023 18:54

Yay for new chickens and boo to the wind - 2 brick columns have blown over in my garden this afternoon, so that's 3 fence panels buggered <sighs> we were alerted by the sound of the fence splitting. It's still windy, so keeping FancyCat inside for now as needless to say, she found it all very interesting and wanted to sniff around the fallen bits which is probably not wise in case any other bits are unsafe.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 13/03/2023 18:58

It’s been snowing all day here.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/03/2023 21:26

Evening all. The headache eventually went early afternoon after two lots of drugs. <le sigh>

I'm watching Dan Snow talking about the 14th Century Black Death outbreak. (It was on a day or so ago, but it's on catch-up LetUs - because I know you're interested in the history of disease Grin )

No snow or rain here, but plenty of wind. DH was marvelling at some IdiotKitty footprints splatted into the mud then dried in the wind - completely oblivious to the tree that had come down and was resting on the washing line Hmm Fortunately it was fairly small and already dead. Eeek re. your fence pillars Fancy - that'll be your fence, yes? Sad At least your chickens (and FancyCat) weren't under it.

ScraggyHens are still settling in, and very suspicious of everyone/thing.

Wicked -best stay in and watch Watching Border Force Sweden. It's only sensible.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 13/03/2023 21:38

Very true helen - lucky the chickens were inside (in solidarity with real life chickens cooped up because of bird flu Grin ) as they'd have been completely squashed. I'm not sure whose fence it is tbh - it's on the right as you look from the house down the garden & I think the bulk of the wall is on the neighbour's property if you take a line from where the houses join as the boundary, but I think we'll need to check the deeds, which I couldn't find a copy of & the Gov.uk website was playing up earlier when I tried to get hold of a new one.

FancyFancy · 13/03/2023 21:41

Anyone seen the Only Connect final yet? <avoids spoilers>

LetUsPrey · 14/03/2023 07:21

Morning wenches.

We are waaaaay behind with Only Connect here. Might suggest to DS2 that we skip straight to the final.

Helen’s suggestion on how to keep warm is an excellent one Wicked.

I must look up that history programme because history is of such an interest to me because cultured.

Slept badly again. Fun fun fun.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/03/2023 08:12

Morning all. It doesn't seem so windy today, but it has been raining overnight/when I woke up, so wearing crocs to feed the chickens wasn't my best plan at the point when I reached the muddy part of the 'lawn' Confused (Mild alarm, but I managed not to fall over - I there's just a nice slip mark on the ground now!)

I finally achieved a properly sensible bed time last night and was in bed before 10:30. I did also wake up at 1-something and 5-something, but I don't feel completely trashed for once. Hurrah. (Though I could happily go back to bed again).

Yes LetUs - but you're not just cultured, your scientific too - all our rigorous testing of HBF hypotheses etc etc.

I was thinking that would be your boundary Fancy because when the front wall fell over, it was next doors, though just because the wall is on that side doesn't mean it's yours. MN does love a good boundary debate Wink Hopefully gov.uk will start working today.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 14/03/2023 10:24

I think the wall out the front was mine, but the neighbours insisted on fixing it, which I was very grateful for, but it took them months to do!

ApricotCrush · 14/03/2023 16:53

Afternoon. Nice morning but it has rained since and there's a very cold wind.

Sad at snow WW. I think we're due some more here soon.

Nuisance about the fences Fancy. All three fences are ours as we're on a corner. We replaced them a few years ago, so hopefully won't have to do it again. We don't watch Only Connect, no idea what it's about. I remember Connect 4. Grin

Lol at LetUs being interested in the history of disease. Actually Dan Snow aside I wouldn't mind watching that, will have a look.

Eeek at fallen tree and slippy 'lawn' Helen. Glad the chickens are settling in.

LetUsPrey · 14/03/2023 19:14

Evening wenches.

Sunshine, dark skies, hail, sunshine, sleet, sunshine, etc etc all day.

We are all scientific and cultured us wenches, dead interested in tons of stuff Grin

Hope you get your boundaries sorted Fancy without any complications.

I’m sure you managed the slippy slidey with grace and style Helen and there were no cartoon style whirling arms.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/03/2023 21:02

Evening all. I think today was mostly dry, but it's rained this evening.

We've finished watching Last of Us (Ooooh!) and now I've been watching Our Flag Means Death with DS.

LetUs - I achieve everything with grace and style Hmm (Flailing arms and chaos are inherently graceful and stylish) Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/03/2023 21:11

I agree Letus, personally I’m very interested in security issues regarding our borders, I think that’s very important in this day of age 🤔

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/03/2023 07:29

Morning all. Bright and sunny outside, but quite a heavy ground frost with a silvery gold sunrise. KillerKitty is in a food coma after scoffing his breakfast and then going out to add a mouse to it.

Today is BoringOfficeJob and I must not slob on the sofa...

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 15/03/2023 07:52

Morning wenches.

Car’s going to need scraping as lots of ice. Dry and not windy though.

So important Wicked <nods>. Merits a careful and in depth study.

DS2 on a late start so I said he could have a lie in. Not this much though.

ApricotCrush · 15/03/2023 16:41

Afternoon. Heavy frost this morning and much rain since.

I’ve been performing keyhole surgery on DGS’s teddy who is looking a bit the worse for wear. He’s actually one of three identical bears, one of which has lived here since DGS was a baby as an emergency if he forgot him, and a spare at home in case the other got lost. DD still has her dog teddy. Hmm

Hope everyone’s had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 15/03/2023 18:59

Evening wenches.

Brrrrrrrr. Cold rain on the way back to the car. Made some flapjacks when I got in.

Is the three bear thing common knowledge or does DGS think there’s just the one (which would be very sweet)?

Watching more Endeavour with DS2.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/03/2023 20:33

Evening.

DS is blethering on about Star Wars universe 'lore'. I'm trying to follow, but he lost me very quickly.

Grin at all the back-up bears. WE got a back-up for one of DS's toys that was battery operated and much loved. Astonishingly, the battery never ran out Shock So now I have this 'as new' little plush that plays 'Twinkle Twinkle' Grin

Evening

A damp day here, have been WFH as FancyCat had a vets appointment to start on some new-fangled arthritis treatment. Eye wateringly expensive (and she's getting blood pressure meds) but she assures me she's worth it. Let's hope she's grateful enugh to not nip me when I take too long getting comfy in bed tonight Hmm <side eyes furry overlord>
