Sleet here and the wind walking to work from the car park this morning was biting.

Took car to local garage to get it checked and all is fine mechanically so that’s a big relief. Still need to deal with the damage to the bumper but chap who hit me is aware of that.

DS2 been to another hospital appointment but obviously an evening appointment makes all the difference. Parked fine, we were 15 minutes early and they called him straight in! I’d gone prepared with Ink Black Heart but didn’t get through anywhere near as much as I’d expected. I think I’ll carry on with it tonight.

Didn’t read any more last night. Started sewing up knitted dog coat but I’ve started at the wrong end FFS so I’ll start that again tonight. Won’t take long but what a muppet.

Glad to hear that the parking fiasco wasn't repeated LetUs, and that the car is (mostly) fine.

Nothing exciting happening here today, just the usual work and domestic-ing. I have impulse-entered a SportingActivity competition. I have been known to get a medal because there were less than 4 entrants in my category so that will save me standing about getting bored just watching DH and DS.

Afternoon
Another sodding power cut last night, just as I was about to head off to bed - reporting it and general faffing to check what needed switching off made me later to bed than planned. I then got disturbed by the text updates, so all in all, not a great night's sleep. Power was back in the early hours so at least the heating was on this morning, although I did need to wait for the water to heat up for my shower.

Hoping for an evening without power dramas tonight - lets hope the repair last night is more successful than whatever they did on Monday. Fingers crossed.

Afternoon. We woke up to four inches of snow and it continued all morning. It’s stopped now and there’s a lot of dripping going on, so hopefully it won’t stay around for long.

No working on the roof for DH which is perhaps a good thing although it is prolonging the job.

Hope there won’t be another power cut Fancy.

We have sleety-haily-snowiness going on outside, instantly turning to mud and water. Brrr and bleurgh.

Fancy - you probably need a hot bath (Capt. Poldark is waiting for you, though that image does rather look like his head is being presented on a platter ) and then a comfy bed.

Today has been a brief school run for after-school activities, and then just working. Nothing exciting.

Glad to hear MrA is safely off the roof in this weather.

Hope that LetUs's drive home isn't too grim, and Wicked is still avoiding the snow.

Eeeeek at four inches of snow Apricot and snowing all day for Wicked! We’ve had sleet all day and it’s been rather windy from about 6. Just been out to BigSister’s and the weather was grim.

Snow all over the cars and roofs etc but doesn’t seem to have stuck on the roads and footpaths so at least there’s that.

DS1 coming home for the weekend so I’m looking forward to that.

Morning all. The weather is continuing from yesterday and everything is suitably soggy underfoot. IdiotKitty is stir crazy because he wants to go out, but not in that weather. I gave him more food and he's escaped upstairs. I'm hoping he's flaked out in a food coma rather than traumatising DH and IntelligentCat (I'll find out if I walk past the foot of our bed and find the small furry idiot attached to my ankles.)

I struggled to get any internet this morning, which will be a complete pain if it recurs/carries on through the day.

Fingers crossed for no-one getting snowed in - lots of reports on the radio this morning of closed roads and stuck cars up north.

All rather soggy here too - lots of snow falling yesterday, but it didn't stick on roads & paths & has now been washed away. FancyCat is none too keen on going out, can't blame her.

Looking forward to the weekend already - an evening of trash tv and whatever alcohol is in the fridge :-)

Evening all. Proper big fluffy flakes of snow today - very Christmas card-ish. The snow settled for about 15 minutes and then all melted again.

A lazy day so far - did go in to town to get the new glasses tweaked and do some food shopping. It's grey & drizzly, but I think the garden needed some more rain, so I'm not complaining.

Sunshine went away early afternoon and it’s raining now.

Ran a few errands this morning and haven’t done much the rest of the day. Watched the Elvis film. It’s excellent. Must have been quite something to see him live.

Despite ironing every weekend, and despite thinking I’d not done as many washes as usual this week, there seems to be a much larger pile of ironing than usual. I shall accompany it with Inside The Tower of London. Usual visiting will also happen and DS2 will no doubt complain about his homework.

Have been mostly lazy again today, was trying to watch some garden birds at the feeder using my new(ish) binoculars, but FancyCat decided to join me & that seemed to put the birds off. Am doing a bit of work prep ahead of next week instead.

Have a nice lazy evening planned - trash tv, a bit of on-line shopping for some plants & dinner is easy - reheating a batch-cooked dahl

Usual Sunday of ironing, homework strops, and not much else. Did a few rows of knitting but can’t settle to it.

Afternoon/evening wenches. Much warmer today so I’ve done two wash loads of bedding and they have mostly dried outside.

What did you watch the Elvis film on LetUs and did you have to buy it? If so, I’ll wait for it because I’m stingy.
