Thread 173 Shock. Break out the duvets and huddle round the scorching hot brazier HBF-of-choice.

Yet more domestic drivel and shameless perving.

Morning wenches.

I like your follow up question suggestion better Helen? Grin

Follow up from yesterday is that lower back, hips and legs are very sore. I shall just have to do very little today. Another day off as there’s another thing this afternoon for DS2 but he doesn’t need to go to this one.

Grey and drizzly here. <stages lock in>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/03/2023 12:31

Afternoon all. Urgh.

DS hurt himself doing sporty stuff last night, so this morning has been written off with trips to Minor Injuries etc. Nothing broken thank goodness, just a sprain (splinted up) and related grumpy/obstructive attitude (I pointed out that I was his mother, not his doormat, and there there is a difference between those things). And now there is also a backlog of work for me. Hurrah Hmm

It's not drizzly here, but grey and miserable anyway. I have had a hot chocolate to compensate for the weather. I think that crawling back under the duvet would help too. <side-eyes work>

Afternoon, my Welsh act on St David's day was clearly doing my Duolingo, may do Welsh cakes at the weekend.

Glad DS is alright Helen and yay for getting the appointment done letus, well done for DS2 too, that's a stressful thing for them to do at his age.

Misty and FancyCat clearly have similar tactics, seat stealers the pair of them. 😁

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 02/03/2023 14:21

Fancy, Apes, bold of you to assume that it’s your seat Grin

ApricotCrush · 02/03/2023 16:30

Afternoon wenches. Nice day, sunny after lunch.

Oh LetUs, I feel your pain re hospital parking. On one occasion DD came out of her office to meet me in the car park and stay with me while we searched for a space, the idea being that if it got time for my appointment, I would go in and she would take the car to continue the search. That was what happened but it was so stressful as she’d never driven my car before and when I’d finished she had to come out again to take me to the car because I didn’t know where it was. Just what you need when going for a heart scan and blood pressure check. Shock Well done to DS2 for going in alone.

Oh poor MiniHelen. Hope he’s alright.

I know WW, I do realise they own everything. Grin

LetUsPrey · 02/03/2023 18:29

Evening wenches.

That’s the opposite of what you want before an appointment like that Apricot. I think he’ll have another appointment there soon so I might just ask NiceColleague if I can use her parents’ drive again.

Ouch for MiniHelen! Pleased nothing’s broken.

LetUsCat more or less kept out of our way for sitting, although he did like to claim one of the stairs which wasn’t always terribly convenient Grin

Today’s appointment thing went okay, not sure it was worth it in the end but it was a day off and I did a bit more jigsaw and binged more Downton Abbey.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 02/03/2023 19:23

If I was in Sigrid’s spot on the couch she would just stare at me until I apologised and moved Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/03/2023 19:55

<snort> at entitled WenchCats. (IdiotKitten has just flopped onto the beanbag and curled up - IntelligentCat has been asleep on me upstairs most of the afternoon.)

Oh - the other stress from this morning - I ran the car low on fuel, thinking I'd fill up in the cheap supermarket near BoringOfficeJob yesterday - except I forgot to take my purse with me. My car tells me how much fuel I have left in the car 'xx miles left in the tank' - that sort of thing. When got home last night I had 13 miles (that's ok, the petrol station I was aiming for today is only 5 miles away). I left this morning with DS and I had 8 miles when I started the car, so I set off driving there on fumes and hope... I checked at the petrol station and it was on zero Shock!

Glad that today's appointment went well LetUs

Morning wenches.

I’d expect nothing less Wicked

That’s very daring Helen! I get in a bit of a flap if the petrol thing says anything close to 50 miles.

Back to work today but at least it’s Friday. Got an email saying something I’m after is back in stock at the yarn shop so I’ve that to look forward to tomorrow.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/03/2023 08:01

Morning all.

It's grey and dull outside again. Illing chicken seems to have perked up properly now though, so that's good. If she'd just start laying again now... Hmm #FeatheryGardenOrnaments

DS has trundled off to school with not protests, so that was good.

Have a good day all.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 03/03/2023 16:27

Afternoon. Cold and grey here. I’ve been out with DD to Next to pick up a parcel. That’s the excitement for the day. Hmm

Oh gosh, Helen, that was close. Yay for perked up chicken.

Grin WW.

DH is going to the caravan tomorrow to inspect the damage from the leaks and hopefully sort it out without the insurance. Their excess is £500 so we don’t really want to involve them. Son-in-law is taking him in his company’s van so they can take everything that might be needed.

Have a good evening all. Wine

LetUsPrey · 03/03/2023 19:23

Evening wenches.

Not ideal start to the day as someone ran into the back of me on the way to work. Doesn’t seem to be any damage to the car but I’ll get it checked out. I’m fine, was a bit wobbly at first but fingers crossed all will be okay. It’s been a bit of a week all told.

Grin At FeatheryGardenOrnaments. Good that illing chicken has perked up.

Hope all goes well tomorrow for MrApricot.

Tonight’s rocknroll Friday evening involves the electric blanket going on and an early night.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 03/03/2023 20:24

Yikes Letus, are you ok?

LetUsPrey · 03/03/2023 21:15

I’m fine thanks. Was fairly low impact luckily. Knackered though, but that’s nothing new Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/03/2023 22:55

Eeek LetUs! Hope you've had a hot soak in the bath and some Gin to recover. Glad it all seems ok though. <Paddington Bear Stare> at the inattentive driver who hit you.

Fingers crossed that the water damage is easily repairable Apricot

So, today, due to crappy timing and deadlines, I've put in a 10 hour day Confused So I haven't really done anything other than shuffle figures about and swear a lot. Still, weekend tomorrow Grin I need to hack down a buddelja which is leaning on the boundary fence. Stupid tree.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 04/03/2023 08:32

Morning wenches.

I almost feel sorry for the tree Helen.

DH was out last night. When he did get in his snoring, grunting, heavy breathing and various other really fucking annoying noises kept me awake for most of the rest of the night (or that’s what it felt like). I’m not in the best mood.

Yarn shop today plus washing and homework reminding.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/03/2023 10:46

Not to worry LetUs - I took cuttings of said tree when it started falling down, so I will replant with CloneOfTree Grin
I'll start chopping once I've had breakfast.

Hope everywench has a good day - it's a bit cloudy and damp here, but ho hum.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 04/03/2023 17:25

Afternoon. Miserable day here.

Oh my goodness LetUs, you are going through it at the moment. My sympathy with the snoring and other noises. I think the snoring is worse if they've had some alcohol. I always say DH has got the noisiest body imagineable. I ended up in the spare room one night last week. Wine Chocolate [HBFs] for you.

Hope tree chopping went well Helen.

In caravan news, it's not nearly as bad as we thought it would be. They've done the plumbing work and cleaned the carpets and are on the way home now.

ApricotCrush · 04/03/2023 17:26

Oh, that's a really big block of chocolate. Grin Enjoy it LetUs, you deserve it.

FancyFancy · 04/03/2023 17:48

Glad to hear you are ok letus <cwtches>

That's good news about the caravan apricot, hopefully MRA won't need to go clambering on the roof!

Yay for perked up chicken Helen

Spent yesterday with DD, visiting her new flat which was fun. Got back late so have really done bugger all today.

LetUsPrey · 04/03/2023 20:28

Evening wenches.

I’ve very quickly drunk two glasses of Pimms Sundowners. Went down very easily - stop it - and now I’m fit for nothing.

Is like The Hobbit or LOTR Helen. I am CloneOfTree, Son of LeaningTree, Son of Tree.

I contemplated moving to DS1’s room last night but there’s a load of laundry on the bed and I couldn’t be arsed. I shall avail myself of that enormous bar of chocolate thank you. Good news re the caravan.

Doing bugger all sounds excellent Fancy.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/03/2023 22:50

<decorates in the style of LetUs's Pimms Grin >

I have hacked lots of trees and hedges about - before the birds get ideas of building nests in them and I can't cut them back any more. I also went for a quick bike ride - ye gods I'm not 'bike fit' Confused I plan to hack more of the hedge about tomorrow.

Excellent news re. the caravan Apricot, and also FancyDD's new flat. LetUs - the HBFs say that you're very fit for lots of things<ylt> Grin

Morning wenches.

Grin Helen. To be honest, I don’t think I am but am happy to be proved wrong. It’ll be an interesting sensation - in more ways than one.

Not sure I can be bothered with today but apparently I must.

FancyFancy · 05/03/2023 11:15

Morning.

Am also planning to spend time in the garden today, that does involve actually moving though <stays sitting on arse>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/03/2023 11:30

<sits next to Fancy contemplating the garden...>
