Thread 173 Shock. Break out the duvets and huddle round the scorching hot brazier HBF-of-choice.

Yet more domestic drivel and shameless perving.

Morning wenches.

I think moving a cat is allowed if you’re heading to bed Helen. It’s when you have to go to work that you’re not allowed to do it.

Back to frosty mornings for a bit here so it’s a good job I found my ice scraper.

Seem to have got the hang on new knitting pattern, or if I’m doing it wrong I’ll do it wrong all the way through and will make my own design Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/02/2023 11:57

Morning wenches. (Just about.)

Woe is me, etc. I've never been his knocked out by jet lag before, and the manshapes are as bad. It's grim, and not helped by dull, grey, damp weather. Ho hum, onwards with work, etc.

Maybe we could have knitted HBFs? Grin

Afternoon. Nice day, but cold.

Scientific LetUs? Scientific??? I swear his eyes are turning to look at me accusingly. I’ve even got a ruler out to measure him. <nlt> DH thinks he’s found it but I’m not convinced; it’s not as obvious as the other two. Confused

Your jet lag sounds awful Helen. Hope it clears soon.

LetUsPrey · 23/02/2023 19:49

Evening wenches.

I did a proper lol at you getting a ruler out to measure him <nlt> Apricot Grin

Perhaps you’ve caught a bit of a bug too Helen? Whatever it is, that jet lag sounds awful.

Goodness knows how a knitted HBF would turn out if I made it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/02/2023 20:32

Evening all. I don't think there's a bug LetUs - I think it's just jet lag and the fact that I don't sleep as well/easily as I used to <side-eyes sodding menopausal symptoms>
I'm enjoying the idea of using rulers on HBFs Grin

FancyFancy · 23/02/2023 21:40

Well those eye tests have been keeping me busy 😁

Otherwise it's just been work and more work really, then coming home and researching Downton Abbey - always good to have something frothy to watch.

Hope you're feeling better soon Helen

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/02/2023 07:46

Urgh - guess who stayed up late to finish a book, and thought that would be fine and I'd fall asleep faster... Nope. Big mistake. Massive. At least I'm WFH <goes back to bed again with Athos >

Hope everyone has a good day

LetUsPrey · 24/02/2023 07:47

Morning wenches.

Ah yes, the shite sleep. Given how I feel this morning after yet another rubbish night, I’m astonished that you’re even functioning with jet lag on top of that. Feel better soon.

I’ve got a couple of days off next week with the mornings to myself so I’m planning to continue with Downton then.

ApricotCrush · 24/02/2023 17:37

Afternoon. Sunshine and showers again.

Nothing going on here. DD came round for a natter earlier and that’s it really.

Have a lovely evening all. Wine

LetUsPrey · 24/02/2023 19:08

Evening wenches.

Was nice to have the sunshine today, even it was whilst I was at work. Natter with DD sounds a very lovely way to spend time Apricot.

Tonight I plan to do not much other than perhaps bath’n’book.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/02/2023 22:48

Evening all. Mostly dull here, with some sunshine and showers too.

I have had a day of spreadsheets and invoicing (once I woke up).

Bath'n'book sounds like a good plan, though it's a bit late now.

LetUsPrey · 25/02/2023 09:39

Morning wenches.

I did do bath’n’book until the water got quite cool (and it was time to get out really) so then I finished the book lying on my bed.

Today is hair cut, house stuff, perhaps knitting. Perhaps I should calm things down a bit.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 25/02/2023 10:18

Been to the supermarket, yikes, some stuff is really expensive, the only vegetables I buy nowadays is cabbage and carrots. Did find a shrimp sandwich at a good deal so treated myself to that one 😋

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/02/2023 12:57

Afternoon wenches.

Mega-lie-in here, which was lovely. Since then I've been cleaning sinks Hmm and trying to get a stain out of a bathmat when a pen fell on the floor and leaked on it. It's sunny outside, so I need to go into the garden too, just to get some sunshine. Then do more cleaning. Unless I'm interrupted by a passing HBF of course. In which case housework can do one. On the balance of probabilities, I shall be doing housework.

Afternoon wenches. Sun and showers again. I feel sorry for DH as he’s still working on the roof.

Housework and general pottering about here and I’m now a cat bed.

That looks lovely WW.

FancyFancy · 25/02/2023 18:16

Evening
Have been fantastically lazy today Grin and have achieved pretty much bugger all. May do a few chores now before settling in for an evening of frothy tv - i.e. more bugger all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/02/2023 18:47

Hurrah for lazy days Fancy - you deserve them. I have, for once, actually done the things that I wanted to get done today. Though the towel wash went out late and is being darked on tonight.
<puts crash mat down for MrA>
<admires LetUs's swishy hair>
<pinches shrimp from Wicked>

Evening wenches.

Very important to treat yourself Wicked. Looks lovely.

Hurrah for mega lie in Helen, not so much at housework.

General pottering about sounds nice Apricot. Hope MrApricot’s nearly done on the roof - overall not just for today.

You sound like you’ve had an excellent day too Fancy.

Hair got done, lots of stuff got chucked from the loft which was actually quite tiring, made flapjacks, not done any knitting.

LetUsPrey · 26/02/2023 09:14

Morning wenches.

Typical Sunday here. Stuff I need to be getting on with so I’m sitting down, not doing any of it. Perhaps I should check down the back of the settee for any enthusiasm.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/02/2023 11:26

Morning. urgh. One load of washing on.
My enthusiasm is on a spa break with yours LetUs.

I have a sociable day of going to see lovely friend and then being visited by another lovely friend. I'm sure it will be fun, but I feel more like crawling back under the duvet just now, not going out.
<gives self a shake>
<crawls off, slowly>

Afternoon. Nice day again but cold.

I had a nightmare last night, a man was climbing in through the bedroom window. Not an HBF unfortunately. Wink I screamed and woke DH and Misty up. I sleep badly enough without that. Urgh!

Not much done today but it doesn't matter. I've no idea how much longer DH will be on the roof and am reluctant to ask for fear of a run down of what still has to be done. Hmm

Hope everyone's had a lovely day.

LetUsPrey · 26/02/2023 19:44

Evening wenches.

Average day. Couple of days off this week as DS2 has appointments so I sacked off the ironing today and will do it on Wednesday morning with some Downton Abbey.

Did some knitting which seems to be coming out quite well.

Hope your day of lovely friends was enjoyable Helen.

Grin at your reasons for not asking MrApricot how long the roof will take. I totally understand. That nightmare sounds awful - no wonder you woke up screaming.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/02/2023 20:09

Is it Friday yet?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/02/2023 21:54

Evening wenches.

If I knitted it would turn out things worse than in this: www.theguardian.com/technology/2023/feb/26/chatgpt-generated-crochet-pattern-results? Grin

I did have a nice time with friends; the 4yo was delightful/exhausting as ever! Then I helped cook tea for hours (and ate it in minutes!)

Eek re. the nightmare apricot! Only HBFs are allowed to burst in through windows. Fact.

Also, good chance of Northern Lights tonight for up north...
