Went out for lunch with work which was very pleasant, work itself was work-y, did have a flurry of activity at the end of the day though 😁

It is gloriously sunny here, pretty chilly though & am working at home wee wrapped up. DD is probably back tonight so may make a start on series 3 to warm us up.

Afternoon. No frost this morning and it has definitely warmed up a bit.

Not much going on here except that we have to have our flat roof resurfaced when the spring arrives and DH is doing preparatory work. I’ve had the usual detailed ‘presentation’ of what’s happening and been shown samples of the materials to be used. I don’t care, just get on with it.

I’ve started a new knitting project that I’d been waiting for measurements for. Have decided I’m going to treat myself to some new, posh knitting needles at the weekend.

DH will be watching The Apprentice soon so I might go upstairs and read.

Brain was whispering “Saturday” to me when I woke up. I was feeling quite relaxed. Then I heard DH downstairs and thought “why’s he up so early on a Saturday, it’s still dark?” Checked the time, yes it is early for a Saturday. Then, the horrible realisation, it’s Friday. What a way to start the day.

Oh Helen, you pauvre thing. J’also deteste le travelling on les occasions tres rare quand nous have gone abroad. When they invent teleportation and I can get from my house with luggage straight to my hotel in an instant, I will definitely be up for that. Enjoy le ski-ing!

I think some of my knitting needles were my grandma’s. I definitely don’t have multiple pairs of needles in the same sizes.

Evening wenches (morning when you get this?) le time difference is a bit bonkers. Nous avons done le premier day of skiing. Il y a un grand splat by me, including perdue a ski et then following it down le slope. Le oops. Mais no harm done (apart from le dignity).

Up early today and went in to civilization to the hairdresser at 9. Then food-, and wineshopping, bought yarn for my mum. On the couch now relaxing.

Donc, cette matin tout-le-mond etait v. grumpy - DS et un teenager et il y a beaucoup de sighing and there etait no pleasing anyone. Petit-dejuner took several attempts to find anywhere pour eating avec le space et no mahoosive queue. Fortunately Je took over route-planning, et nous avons un happy apres-midi avec everyone having le fun. J'ai un tiny unscheduled sit-down sur le slope, because un numpty cut in front de moi. Today je also get a gold star, comme le dentist stickers : 'Je skied le runs noir alone, avec rien de chaperones'.

DH and Friend are 'mooching in town'. J'espere ils come back soon, so nous can mangent le dinner, et je can go to bed. Le 'jet lag' etait still in evidence this morning, et je am pooped.

Hopefully les chickens are not trying to hatch the cats...

The only productive thing I did today was vacuum, otherwise I just jigsawed and watched Netflix.

I’ve spent a very relaxing well over an hour in the bath, first reading a Mary Beard book and then the third Richard Osman. Did lots of ironing earlier and some knitting. Might do more knitting later but it’s dark coloured yarns which really needs daylight for my eyes.

Have had a good weekend - theatre & mini-meet up yesterday, which was fab as ever, then afternoon tea at a neighbours. At which we planned a theatre trip - I'm so cultured, me

TB in a 'strange movie' wicked? Surely not. I watched The Show recently which was well weird, but then it was written by Alan Moore, so I'd expect nothing less.

Anyway, today j'ai un petit sit-down sur le slope, et aussi le squeaking et le unscheduled sliding. Et nous avons tout le knackered. Tomorrow nous avons ski-ing with friends, so pas de let-up there. Il y a un peu de neige, mais whatever 'drizzle' is en le form de snow - pas le grande fluffly flakes. Pas de soleil either. J'ai another sticker pour ski-ing another run noir (avec le petit sit-down).
