Thread 173 Shock. Break out the duvets and huddle round the scorching hot brazier HBF-of-choice.

Yet more domestic drivel and shameless perving.

Morning all.
<tiptoes round LetsUs shaped lump under HBFs blankets>
<puts on Brew>
<pours water and locates paracetamol>
It doesn't look very enticing outside... <le sigh> oh well.

Morning wenches.

It would have been a lump you saw too Helen. Delicious steak and sweet potato fries and lovely sauce. And then “do you want to see the dessert menu?” BestFriend and I looked at each and then went “might as well please”. It was such a fab evening and went very quickly.

Going to see DS1 today so I’m trying a new flapjack recipe. It’s got Biscoff spread in it.

<locks Helen in cwtch cupboard>
<sends out CloneHelen to do the stuff>

ApricotCrush · 28/01/2023 17:06

Afternoon. Grey and dull here but perhaps a little warmer, or less cold!

Glad you had a good evening LetUs, and enjoy your day with DS1. Also hope Helen has enjoyed her outing.

It's DH's birthday today and we're having a Chinese at DD's.

LetUsPrey · 28/01/2023 20:05

Evening wenches.

A very happy birthday to MrApricot! Hope dinner is delicious.

Very drizzly today. It was so lovely to see DS1. Lunch out was very nice. Hopefully at some point when we go up the weather will be nice enough for a stroll round the city, although I’d probably need to be on my own to properly enjoy the sights and shops and not have everyone triddling after me like a little family of ducklings.

LetUsPrey · 29/01/2023 09:09

Morning wenches.

On and off sleep with very weird dreams.

Usual Sunday here with possibly added Downton.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/01/2023 11:40

Morning all.

<arf> at the duckling family LetUs - I know exactly what you mean though.

We are currently at ChateauFancy, having a lovely time and about to go out for Brunch, because you can do that sort of thing when you are near civilisation and not living the bucolic rural idyll thing. Though by the time everyone is rounded up, it's going to be closer to just lunch. I'm also pooped because it was a very late night.

Hope that MrA's birthday meal was as nice as it sounds

Happy Birthday MrApes 🥳

Envy at visit to Château Fancy.

Glad you had a good time Letus 🍷

FancyFancy · 29/01/2023 16:35

How was the birthday meal apricot?

And how were the Biscoff flapjacks letus?

Have had a lovely mini-meet & I don't think FancyCat bit anyone this time Grin
Am having a quiet few minutes for the rest of the afternoon, both DD & DS are supposed to be arriving this evening at various vague times.

ApricotCrush · 29/01/2023 16:41

Afternoon. Quite a nice day here.

Yes, the birthday meal was lovely, thank you. Not much done today, but well, it’s Sunday.

Yay for meet-up and have a nice evening with the DC Fancy.

Grin at family of ducklings.

LetUsPrey · 29/01/2023 19:20

Evening wenches.

Hurrah for mini-meet and also Envy at ChateauFancy stay.

Biscoff flapjacks have been a success. Enjoy the evening with the DC Fancy.

Also haven’t done much today.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 29/01/2023 19:48

Why is it Monday tomorrow already???
Worked 4 hours today, then vacuumed the house (cat hair everywhere) and unclogged the bathroom zink Confused

LetUsPrey · 30/01/2023 07:46

Morning wenches.

Truly we live a life of glamour Wicked.

Monday again is it? It’s light though so that’s something.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/01/2023 07:57

Morning wenches. Last night's post doesn't seem to have posted, but I don't think you missed anything.

The cats celebrated our return home with a fight, cat vom and mouse stomachs. They're so thoughtful Hmm

I went to bed last night with a headache and woke up with it too. I have chugged 3x asprin to make it FTFO (#rebel, also Dr told me to for migraines) I also have sniffles and a sore throat and apologise profusely to Fancy for bringing a lurgy to her house Sad

The sunrise was nice, and now I am going back to bed to feel sorry for myself.

Afternoon. Nice day, washing on the line but haven't checked if it's dried at all. Hmm
Gosh, that sounds very productive WW.

Hope the aspirin worked Helen and that you feel better soon.

LetUsPrey · 30/01/2023 20:33

Evening wenches.

Oh Helen, you poor thing. Have all the drugs you can safely take and all the HBFs you want. Feel better soon. Good of the cats to give you such a welcome.

Washing done but it’s on the heated airer thing.

Work was blaaahhh, DS2 got sent home from school feeling not very well so he’s had to look after himself all day. Dentist/hygienist on the way home for me which was running late. I think the LetUs household need a collective early night.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/01/2023 21:46

Evening all. Nice weather here too - I got two loads of washing through the machine and mostly dried. I have been having a nice chatter with next door, and now I'm pooped and I should have an early night, because <sniffle, couch, etc>.

Hope that mini-LetUs is ok. And everyone else stays lury-free.

LetUsPrey · 31/01/2023 07:39

Morning wenches.

Dark again, but it seems quite rainy so does that mean it’s a bit warmer?

Earlyish night seems to have helped me a bit. DS2 is being a right grumpy wotnot when I’ve told him it’s time to get up so normal service seems to have been resumed.

Hope you got some rest too Helen.

Here’s to an excellent wenchy day for all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/01/2023 07:53

Morning all. Still illing here and not a great night's sleep so I'm going to be heading off to bed again now that DS is out the door and the livestock is fed.

The bits of sunrise I saw were not as pretty as it looked like it would be, but I only saw bits of it, so <shrug> It's up anyway, which is the main thing Grin

Cute kitten was playing with a new toy this morning (traumatised shrew) so I scooped it up in the dustpan and put it out on the woodpile while he wasn't looking. He was most bemused to look back and find it gone. CK is now snuggled up on me, purring, so he's not realised I liberated it holding it against me.

Clearly I forgot to post last night!

Am in the office & have an uninspiring week to look forward to - ought to clean some of the things moved from my back room where the decorator is this week. The frames for my new pictures are dure to arrive today though, so am looking forward to putting those up in the Morecambe & Wise suite tonight.

Had a nice dinner on Sunday night with the DC & then DD & I watched the last two episodes of series 2. Some very pretty Aramis & fabulous Milady frocks.

ApricotCrush · 31/01/2023 16:29

Afternoon. Lovely day, sunny and a bit warmer.

Well done for saving the shrew Helen and Grin at bemused kitten.

Hope DS2 is alright LetUs. I’ve got the hygienist in the morning.

Have a good evening all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/01/2023 19:11

<wanders in wearing HazMat suit>
Evening all. Greetings from Covid Central Sad I did a test this morning and got a positive result, which means that DS is almost certainly the same, despite only appearing to have a snuffly cold, and DH probably has it too. <le sigh> School don't care as long as he doesn't have a temperature so I assume it's probably running rampant there and DS brought it home with him.

Other than that, I have been working and being a cat bed. (and illing)

Good luck with the hygenist tomorow Apricot

LetUsPrey · 31/01/2023 19:20

Evening wenches.

You poor thing Helen, it sounds like you’ve got quite the dose of it. Hope MrHelen and MiniHelen either avoid it or if not, then they’re not more ill and can look after you. Hopefully there’ll be no more shrews!

Ooo nice frocks and TM reminds me that there was someone in Downton who’d been in Musketeers. Woman with the baby in The Exiles whose name I’ve forgotten was playing a gobby housemaid. Kept trying to remember where I’d seen her - thank goodness for IMDb!

Fecking windy walking to the car after work which made it feel a lot colder than it was. I’m not half looking forward to complaining about it being too hot.

LetUsPrey · 01/02/2023 07:51

Morning wenches.

Lighter but my goodness it’s a bit breezy out there. The weather app calls it a fresh breeze. I would dispute this.

DS2 is doing remote lessons in some way today so he is of course awake bright and early and chatty.

Dreamed I lived next door to Helen and I stayed over, despite only being next door, so that was a very nice dream for a change.

LetUsPrey · 01/02/2023 08:21

Also hope you’re feeling better than you were Helen

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/02/2023 12:36

Awww, you can stay over any time LetUs - though maybe not just at the moment <sneezes all over laptop>
DS did a positive test so I phoned him in and asked school to call back re. what their current protocol is (DS found guidance that said 'stay home' so...?) He is merrily slaying giant spiders on the xbox. #LifeSkills - I'm sure that will come in handy for him in the long run Hmm

I have done a bit of work this morning, but I think I'm popping back to bed for a snooze now. Had the worst night's sleep, so I'm not sure how I'm awake anyway.

PS - Agnes was the TM character who is doubling as a gobby Downton housemaid Grin
