Thread 173 Shock. Break out the duvets and huddle round the scorching hot brazier HBF-of-choice.

Yet more domestic drivel and shameless perving.

Afternoon

Hope the recovery is continuing apricot, do you need any further medical men in attendance?

In the office today, have been somewhat stitched up by having a team member poached for the day. It is a truly inconvenient day for this to have happened on, so this afternoon I will have to do their work instead of my own. Am quietly seething Angry

Had a nice day yesterday thanks, only a short walk, but enough to enjoy the sunshine.

ApricotCrush · 24/01/2023 17:03

Afternoon. Foggy and cold here all day.

I'm fine thanks WW and Fancy, the lump on my head is still painful to the touch but that's all. The HBF docs can still tend to me though. Grin

Oh dear. The car battery was flat this morning so DH got the car started on the charger and I went to Lidl. Brought the shopping back and it was flat again. I didn't leave the side lights on, on no. Shock Phoned DH and he thought I said I was on the little car park so went to Sainsbury's. There are two car parks there but neither are referred to as little. Confused Another phone call later and he arrived at Lidl. I'd managed to keep the space next to me free so he pulled in there but the jump leads wouldn't reach, so we had to do a load of pushing my car and moving his to get them aligned. Nightmare, but we managed it in the end. Fortunately, Lidl wasn't busy or I don't know how we'd have managed.

Hope everyone's had a good day in spite of annoyances.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 24/01/2023 17:08

Don't think we will be able to join NATO anytime soon, great Confused

LetUsPrey · 24/01/2023 20:14

Evening wenches.

Not sure (understatement) about NATO stuff etc. You’re in a much better group here Wicked.

Grin at Lidl and little car park mix up Apricot. Glad you got the car battery sorted eventually and your head’s feeling better.

I am harrumphing on your behalf Fancy at the colleague poaching and having to cover their work.

Another stupid busy day at work and I’m tired. I should have an early night.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/01/2023 21:32

Evening all.

Today has been work and that's about it. Also cooking, and I need to make lunch for tomorrow. Rock'n'Roll etc.

Argh at the car battery shenanigans Apricot, and Sad about NATO Wicked. Massive <CBF> at Fancy's assistant-thieving colleagues, and fluffy pillows and dvuet for LetUs. Plus HBFs all round.

I'm watching Deadpool with DS. Grin

Morning. It's grey and mizzly out there. V. uninspiring. BoringOfficeJob calls, and I need to feed the chickens still.

Morning wenches.

<orders more chicken feed to keep the stocks up>

Disappointingly dark here again. DS2’s parents’ evening today. First face to face one for a while!

FancyFancy · 25/01/2023 13:36

Afternoon, the day ended better than expected as the staff member poached must have worked at the speed of light and managed to get the important stuff for me done too.

Very grey and uninspiring today, also quite icy outside. Can't wait for it to bloody warm up <harrumphs>

Glad the head is ok apricot

ApricotCrush · 25/01/2023 17:12

Afternoon. Grey and miserable here too.

The car seems alright today after a full charge. The battery is quite new but I don’t do enough mileage to keep it charged. It’s a bit of a worry when they start to let you down. Sad

Shame about the NATO thing WW. I googled it and it does seem a mess.

Hope parents’ evening goes well LetUs.

LetUsPrey · 25/01/2023 19:24

Evening wenches.

<poaches Fancy’s colleague for myself>

We had quite a bit of rain today. Misery drizzle.

Parents’ evening was very good. He seems to be on target to get the GCSE grades they predict. Lots and lots of hard work ahead though. All his teachers say how lovely he is Smile

I’m carrying on with Downton, starting series 2.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/01/2023 21:17

Evening all.

I'm glad the parent's evening went well LetUs - shall we just ignore the hard work and stress that's ahead?! Grin Hurrah for your super-efficient assistant Fancy, and for Apricot's re-charged batteries.

'Misery drizzle' is exactly it LetUs - we had it all day here until dusk, and then it turned into rain Hmm Today has been (apart from drizzle) a day of spreadsheets and finance meetings. As ever. Plus a stepper session and cooking tea. Currently watching Grand Designs and wincing a lot at everything going wrong Confused

Oh - also, I was listening to random music on my way home in the car, and 'Skip to the Good Bit' came on, which made me Grin and think of wenches. Grin

Morning wenches.

Dark. Harrumph.

I’m happy to stick my fingers in my ears about revision etc. Unfortunately I think DS2 is as well when he’s at home Grin Perhaps we could skip to the good bits. See what I did there?

Not really in the mood for work today, obviously as opposed to all those other days when I’m raring to go Hmm

Have excellent days wenches

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/01/2023 07:52

Morning. Dark and damp outside. I switched on the radio this morning and they seemed to be having a thing about 'Why am I so utterly knackered this morning?' My reason would be staying up too late and then doing wordles and stuff. urgh... I need to go and feed the chickens and then I can go back to bed and sleep until I need to get up again do the physio exercises that I forgot to do yesterday. <oozes unenthusiasm>

Have a good day wenches
<pretends to wave everyone off to work>
<opens back door so everyone can sneak back in and got back to sleep?

Afternoon. I walked over to the next road earlier to post a letter and it’s soooo cold.

Nothing going on here except DH has lost his credit card which he’s only had for a fortnight as his other one was cloned. Shock. He says it must be in the house as he hasn’t taken it out. It’ll turn up. <sigh>

Well done to LetUsDS2.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/01/2023 18:50

Watching Grand Designs and I’m almost feeling anxious, wondering how it all will work out Confused

LetUsPrey · 26/01/2023 18:58

Evening wenches.

<sidles out of Tav back door <nae>>
<walks in through front door> Gosh what a day at work I’ve had!

Actually wasn’t too bad today.

My sister loves watching those programmes Wicked.

Hope MrApricot’s card turns up soon.

Might do bath’n’book tonight.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/01/2023 22:42

Evening all. I've had a sneaky sxchool-night meet-up with friends. And I still haven't done my phsio exercises. Oops. The HBFs will be cross...

Also not done much today - well apart from work & re-hanging a few pictures. Am off for a cup of tea & possibly Question Time. If my blood pressure can stand it. Otherwise it will be some therapeutic Countdown Grin

LetUsPrey · 27/01/2023 07:38

Morning wenches

That is indeed a cross very HBF!

Hurrah for meet up. I’d stick with Countdown Fancy.

Doesn’t seem as dark this morning. And it’s Friday and I’m off for food and drink and chat with BestFriend this evening which I’m very much looking forward.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/01/2023 07:42

Morning all. It's being a morning to there - sky, clouds, vapour trails being illuminated by the flaming chariot driven across the sky rising sun. Not too cold. It's Friday, which is good. But I'm tiiiiiiiiired (as ever) and I don't even get a lie-in tomorrow becaues we're off for an outing to BigCity straight from SportingActivity. <teeny-tiny violin> Still, got to get through today's spreadsheet-fest first.

Must go feed the chickens - DS hasn't reappeared, so I assume that he didn't miss the bus, which appears to run as late as he does these days. Fortunately.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 27/01/2023 17:03

Afternoon. Nothing happening weather-wise.

DD is on a fitness thing and is doing as many steps a day as she can. She likes our road because it’s a circuit so she came over this morning and we did 2 laps which was quite enough for me in the cold, thank you. Hmm

Grin at very angry Aramis.

Have a lovely evening all.

LetUsPrey · 27/01/2023 18:25

Evening wenches.

Crikey what a day! Done now though and a lovely evening to look forward to l

Helen when DS1 used to get the bus for college he had a friend who got the bus about 10 minutes before him (depending on traffic) and would text him to let him know Grin

That sounds plenty of steps Apricot. Put your feet up.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 27/01/2023 19:57

Have fun tonight Letus 🍷

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/01/2023 21:42

Unfortunately DS is the first pick-up for his bus, so all he can do is ask friends if they've been picked up/he's missed it. Would be handy to have an early warning system via a friend though.

Well, anyway. I finished work at 7pm. FMWork. Then computer clinic for DF's printer which wouldn't connect, and then food for me, and not I'm thinking maybe a bath and book - except I have to go out early tomorrow, so need to throw an overnight bag together before I got to bed. It's all a bit never-ending.

Hope that all wenches have had a good day <side-eyes at LetUs work> and have a fun weekend lined up.
