Thread 173 Shock. Break out the duvets and huddle round the scorching hot brazier HBF-of-choice.

Yet more domestic drivel and shameless perving.

Evening. Ink Black Heart has a bafflingly big array of characters.

Nothing interesting has happened.

FancyFancy · 12/01/2023 20:58

Another day rather like yesterday tbh <is dull> It's very rainy and gloomy here so hard to see any benefit from the lengthening days, but if we do get a sunny day I'm sure I will. DD is due back this evening for a couple of days - have to pick her up from a friends, so hopefully not too late.

LetUsPrey · 13/01/2023 07:39

Morning wenches.

Gosh it’s a bit breezy.

Hurrah for FancyDD being back for a couple of days.

Is dark and fairly miserable outside but it’s Friday so it’s alllllll okay.

I suggest staying in the Tav wrapped in HBFs for warmth.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/01/2023 07:52

Morning all. Yes - very windy here too. It's getting light outside but generally grey and uninspiring. Wrapping up in HBFs is def. the way to go.

Hope that Fancy is fully stocked on pink and FAF Grin

Afternoon. Quite a nice day but the wind is cold.

DD and DGS came round this afternoon after school for a cuppa and a chat.

Have a lovely weekend with your DD Fancy.

LetUsPrey · 13/01/2023 19:57

Evening wenches.

Brrrrrrr wind and rain.

An after school treat for everyone Apricot.

I’m spending my Friday evening washing and knitting. Rocknroll Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/01/2023 22:04

Evening. Agree with the weatehr assessment.

I have spent most of the day swearing about spreadsheets that I haven't looked at for several months, and have now been resurrected like zombies to lurch across my screen while I try to figure out how on earth they're set up (by me) and how all the figures are calculated. And then recalculate everything with updated information. FML, etc.

Morning wenches.

None of that sounded fun Helen, although parts sounded familiar.

More rain which seems to be everywhere. At opticians with DS2. We were late because see aforementioned DS2. Can’t wait for when he gets to the homework part of the day.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/01/2023 11:17

Morning all.

Rainy, windy, cloudy. Perfect weather for staying in and getting on with part two of furniture rearrangements. Or I could wrap up warm and go outside to avoid the tidying/furniture rearranging.

Had a wonderful wench dream last night of us all being out for a meal somewhere and bumped into Jess Pope and then Jason Momoa stopped by which made Anne very happy, and TB was about too. For some reason I was spent a lot of time reading my book. But I woke up feeling quite cheerful after that - we should have another meet-up - the dream extras won't show up, but catching up would be good. (That was then followed by another more bonkers dream involving frenetic tidying up because I was sharing a house and the owner was coming home, interrupted by a visit from an Aunt who was thinking about splitting with her husband because she'd found a 'top shelf' magazine that he'd bought, my cousins doing some cooking while I did more tidying and my father being unimpressed that my aunt wanted him to not tell my mother about the situation. I have no idea what that was all about. Confused ) Honestly - my brain provides a very good 'friends'n'FAF' dream, and then follows it up with that random nonsense! <gives brain a wobble>

Afternoon. Miserable sort of day weather-wise, but we’re getting through the month.

Those spreadsheets sound tedious Helen. I ought to get our expenses one up to date, but it’s scary. Shock Bonkers dreams.

Hope the optician appointment went well LetUs and the homework got done.

LetUsPrey · 14/01/2023 19:13

Evening wenches.

I’ve had one drink and I’m already quite tipsy. What a lightweight.

Even in your dreams you cannot escape us Helen! Another meet up sounds excellent. Mad dream. Have been having some mad, very vivid dreams too.

New glasses for DS2 and he did a fair bit of homework, although not as much as he really should have.

I’ve finished another set of the pattern rows of my knitting. Thought I’d be nearly done but I’ve measured and it looks like I’ve another full set to go.

I’m off to fight the urge to have an ice cream. I’m blaming the vodka.

FancyFancy · 14/01/2023 20:21

Evening
Have had an afternoon of trying to fix the slight leak in one of the windows in the Morecambe and Wise Suite - I don't want the new paintwork to get spoilt! Have corrected the attachment of one piece of the weatherproofing that hadn't been installed correctly - let's see if that does the trick.

We did have pink and faf last night - series 2 episode 8. Dr Lemay was being a total sweetie - unlike Dog, who was being an arse - which of course has sealed his fate. DD can't remember what happens to him, but I am feeling traumatised just anticipating it Grin

I have some pink left over for tonight to enjoy with some tv and FancyCat warming my lap.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/01/2023 21:34

Evening all. Miserable weather today.

Am impressed with your DIYing Fancy
My tidying didn't get very far - I did a bit, and then went out and by the time I got home... don't know. I don't think I got much done anyway. Ho hum.

Dr Lemay actually is fine, the axe missed and he went off to have a nice laid back medical practice in the French Countryside. Fact. Definitely.

<lobs wool at LetUs, and virtual ice cream so you don't have to eat the real stuff>

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 15/01/2023 10:35

Morning wenches.

I think it’s actually stopped raining.

Here’s hoping your DIY skills did the trick Fancy. Grin at laid back medical practice in the French countryside.

Unfortunately I had an ice cream for real last night. Idiot.

Usual visiting, ironing, etc today.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/01/2023 11:39

Morning. We have some sun! Shock Well, we did anyway. There was a nice golden sunrise and now there's lots of cloud but also some patches of blue sky behind hazy clouds.

No real plans today. It's still very windy and the outside world isn't overly enticing.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 15/01/2023 17:12

Afternoon. Cold, damp and grey here.

Very well done on the DIY-ing Fancy.

I've been sorting the pics from Christmas into their various albums and must remember to back them up this time. Hmm

That's a relief about Dr. Lemay.

LetUsPrey · 15/01/2023 18:46

Evening wenches.

The stopped raining didn’t stay that way for long.

Well done on the picture sorting Apricot.

Caught the end of the latest Downton Abbey film today so I’ve decided to start the series from the beginning. Not watched it before. I think everyone in new programmes should refer to each other by name throughout at least the first episode. Have made good headway on the knitting today.

Will watch His Dark Materials tonight. Enjoying it but not entirely sure what’s going on.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/01/2023 21:45

Evening all.

I've been trying to sell SportingActivity stuff online. Lots of photo taking etc. I have a strong suspicion that I may just end up at a charity shop with it, but as long as it stops cluttering up the house, I don't really care!

Cute kitten is currently curled up in a new box, with his head buried in his paws - it's v. good.

Also - Dr Lemay? He's probably married to Agnes and is stepfathering Baby Henri, and they're all 'living their best lives'. Grin

Dark Materials definitely needed a refresher at the start of the series. I spent a lot of time thinking well there was something about witches, but I don't rememeber...'

How is it Monday tomorrow again? <le sigh>

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 15/01/2023 23:35

I like your Dr Lemay theory helen <clings to tiny hope>

LetUsPrey · 16/01/2023 07:38

Morning wenches.

Squeeee at CuteKitten being cute. Not squeeee at Monday though.

I liked the witches in His Dark Materials last series. Haven’t read the last book so don’t know if they’re supposed to be in this one. I’d like them to be.

No idea what it’s like outside, I suspect it’s on the chilly side.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/01/2023 07:42

Morning. It's daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaark Sad DS has gone haring out the door and hoping that the school bus is late (it usually is). Cute kitty is currently being cute, but may also be hanging off my dressing gown by his teeth the second he stops purring. Hmm

I think I should feed the chickens and go back to bed - it looks liek that sort of morning.

At least the wind has dropped.

Have a good day all.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 16/01/2023 16:34

Afternoon. Lovely sunny day but very cold.

Loved Downton Abbey LetUs, particularly the Dowager Countess, she has all the best lines.

Hope HelenDS caught his bus.

We have a funeral tomorrow, a cousin of DH’s. We haven’t seen her for years but he was close to her when they were young. Sad

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 16/01/2023 16:46

We actually had a bit of sun today Shock

Why do the weekends always go by so fast?

Learning a new medical record system (?) and it totally sucks Confused

FancyFancy · 16/01/2023 17:37

Wine ww?

It was bloody cold out today - a bitter wind, nice to be indoors now.

Where is the Downton Abbey film available letus, I missed it at the cinema, so would love to catch it now.

LetUsPrey · 16/01/2023 19:38

Evening wenches.

Hope MiniHelen made the bus. So relieved that DS2 doesn’t need to catch a bus. Hopefully college will be the same - either a lift or walking distance - as it was a bit stressful watching DS1 barely make the college bus every day.

Bit bloody cold today, but was sunny so at least it looked nice through the window.

You have my sympathies re new system Wicked.

I’ve only done an episode and a bit and I already love Dowager Countess Grin It’s on Sky Cinema Fancy.

I’m still knitting the blanket. It does look good even if I do say so myself, but I’m concerned I’ll run out of yarn. And that means I’ll have to go to buy more yarn. Oh no, how unfortunate.
