Thread 173 Shock. Break out the duvets and huddle round the scorching hot brazier HBF-of-choice.

Yet more domestic drivel and shameless perving.

Evening. Miserable day with much rain this afternoon.

We’ve fetched all the Christmas stuff down and it’s back in the loft. Everywhere looks a bit bare but I’m glad it’s over. I like January because there’s no pressure to do anything and I can just sit and knit or whatever and look forward to the lighter nights.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 05/01/2023 18:16

Three days of work now, wohoo 🍷🍷🍷🍷

LetUsPrey · 05/01/2023 20:41

Evening wenches.

Excellent Wicked!

Everything’s away except for the tree. DH is going to do that, but obviously he can’t do this whilst the football’s on even though the tree and tv are in the same room.

For a short week, this feels like a long week.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/01/2023 21:16

Evening all. Just typed a message and then lost it - poop/FFS etc.

Hurrah for a long weekend Wicked - enjoy!

Our decorations are down now, but not boxed away yet. I'll save that joy for another day.

Miserable weather here too. I didn't realise it had been raining until I got the washing out of the machine and went to the back door - sodden patio. Then DS fell over in the mud on the way home from the bus, so that was another bunch of washing to be done. <le grand sigh>

The very thought of MrLetUs being able to multitask and sort out the tree while watching football Shock

We've just watched the New Year taskmaster - there was much giggling Grin though now we're onto Rick and Morty, which is DS's latest obsession.

Evening
Decorations will be taken down tomorrow, although I foolishly stacked up furniture from the room being decorated this week outside the cupboard where I need to put them away <facepalms>

Thank goodness the days are getting longer, even if it's only marginally. FancyCat has very little desire to go outside for any length of time which is nice for me - a veryfurry lap warmer Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/01/2023 07:21

Morning all. The horizon is looking vaguely orange. It might develop, or it might just fade to grey/blue.

Horrible night's sleep last night so I'm feeling trashed and will def. go back to bed once DS is out the door. It's partly my fault for forgetting to do physio exercises until late which made me even later to bed, but... urgh. There was no need to be awake at 1:30 still.

No furry lapwarmer for me this morning - Idiot Kitty isn't in yet, and Intelligent cat has legged it upstairs with DH (who I woke up early this morning by tripping over the bedroom bin).

Hope all wenches have a good day. I shall cling on to the fact that it's Friday and sob gently over my spreadsheets.

Morning wenches.

I shall quietly hurrah about the longer days then FancyCat doesn’t hear me and she continues being a lap warmer for longer,

You’re inspiring me to do my physio exercises Helen. My left hip in particular will thank you.

He did end up putting the tree away whilst the football was still on!

Hurrah for Friday!

ApricotCrush · 06/01/2023 17:29

Afternoon. Not much going on here.

Yay for long weekend, furry lap warmer and tree-putting-away and boo for extra washing and not enough sleep.

Have a good evening all. Wine

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 06/01/2023 19:10

Evening 🍷 Went to the supermarket and bought lots of healthy stuff cheese doodles, ice cream, and after that had a lovely lazy day.
Ate lobster this evening, not fresh, a cheeper deep frozen one, first time for me, with aioli and garlic bread. It tasted good but not as mind blowing as I thought it would be.
Fräsan and I are chilling on the couch now.
Hope all wenches has a lovely evening 🍷

LetUsPrey · 06/01/2023 20:20

Evening wenches.

Sounds like wenches are having enjoyable days and evenings, as is only right and proper.

Work was average. I’ve done some more knitting and am now heading for bath’n’book.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/01/2023 22:24

Evening all. It has been a day of spreadsheets and invoices and being hit in the face with a metaphorical shovel from the amount of stuff I need to keep on top of. It feels like year end levels on madness, and it's not even close.
<wilts>

Still, hurrah for the weekend!

Morning all. It's Windy McWindFace out there - I woke up from dreams of trees fallen down along out road - and snow as well, but that's just my brain being random Grin No HBFs, obvs <le eye roll>

I have no plans, I should probably tidy the house; I might go out and help a friend redecorate instead.

Afternoon wenches.

Have been out doing a bit of shopping with DS2. Gosh what a joyful experience that was. Can’t wait to remind him about his homework.

Rain and sun and rain and sun here.

I’ve done some housework stuff and plan to do knitting this afternoon. I may retire upstairs at one point with a book.

ApricotCrush · 07/01/2023 16:57

Afternoon. Windy and rainy here again.

I’ve never eaten lobster, I don’t think I’d know what to do with it.

Hope the redecorating and knitting went well. I’ve been knitting too. I’ve got to the point where I want this one done. I’m always ahead of myself with the projects. Hmm

FancyFancy · 07/01/2023 17:21

Afternoon - took advantage of a lull in the rain to nip into town for some supplies. The little Waitrose has been rearranged, so lots of confused shoppers Grin

Decorating going well if slowly - lots of settlement cracks to deal with. The Morecambe and Wise suite is now finished though & is looking good, so tomorrow's job is moving the furniture back in if I can manage that on my own.

Otherwise just mostly pottering today and doing minor jobs. The excitement!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/01/2023 19:00

Evening all. It's been windy and cloudy all day, and has just started lashing down with rain as well - joy.

Redecorating didn't happen because my friend cracked on with it midweek and got it done, so I've been forced to spend my time being a hive of activity and sew on buttons/fix holes/put Xmas stuff away in boxes and cupboards, etc etc. Quite satisfying for the end results of 'jobs ticked off lists' but not that sociable. The DH came home and took over what I was in the middle of doing, because since he was there it should be done his way Hmm. Right you are then. <rolling eyes>

I've never had lobster either, I don't know if I'd dare - I've seen Naked Gun 2 1/2 Grin

<books self in to Chateau Fancy to check out the new decor Wink >

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 07/01/2023 19:25

I thought I was the only one that never had lobster Grin Not much to eat on it so I think I’ll stick to shrimps in the future.

Put away Christmas decorations today and sorted through some other stuff, starting to look more and more like a home here 😀

LetUsPrey · 07/01/2023 20:24

Evening wenches.

Finished the little knitting project I was doing for new baby, bigger project is ongoing. I really want to do something else along with bigger project but I need to hold off as new parents don’t have a lot of room.

Well done on decorating and sorting and tidying.

Massive eyeroll at MrHelen.

DH is out tonight so DS2 and I have just had McDonalds which I’m already regretting.

LetUsPrey · 08/01/2023 09:02

Morning wenches.

Rain. Lots of it it appears.

Usual Sunday of washing, ironing (whilst watching Marie Antoinette I think), homework, knitting, visiting. I’m quite happy with that level of non-excitement.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/01/2023 10:01

Morning all. Ooooh - we have sun (for now). And more domestic tidying/sorting plans. Boo. I should probably sort out some breakfast.

Idiot Kitten has just come in, and intelligent cat (who was stupid enough to come downstairs with me) has jumped onto a chair for higher ground and is growling at him while he chirrups at her. <le sigh> Idiot cats.

Afternoon. Very windy and rainy here, I shall not be venturing out but that's ok as I have lots to do in terms of cleaning and setting up the Morecambe and Wise suite.

I've never had lobster either, have never been a big seafood fan and went further off it when Ex developed an alarming gastric reaction to prawns. Not pleasant all round. It also looks fiddly to eat - I'd rather eat a bigger fish 😁

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/01/2023 15:21

Hmmm... See that Rain you had earlier LetUs? I think it's reached us now. Sad<side-eyes washing machine churning away>

Evening. Not much happening weather-wise.

DS came round this afternoon with his DC so that was nice, if a little exhausting. DGS2 is very full on.

DH had food poisoning from seafood, so I’m in agreement there Fancy.

I’m in awe of all your industriousness.

LetUsPrey · 08/01/2023 21:41

Evening wenches.

Raaaaiiiinnnnnn.

The usual Sunday stuff happened. Watched another episode of Marie Antoinette - it’s excellent.

Have had unexpected tiny baby cuddles tonight as new baby is visiting (with his parents obviously, he’s not that advanced just yet Grin. He is completely adorable.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/01/2023 22:27

Aaaaaaawwww at sqiushy baby!

I should be thinking about going to bed - or rather, going to bed, not just thinking about it.
