Another nice relaxed start today, though DS wants to go and see friends so I'll need to get dressed and do the taxi thing in an hour or so. Today is cool enough for me to put my fluffy dressing gown on, so KillerKitty is being CuteKitty and snuggled up being all purry and kneading. Awww (He has forgiven me for persecuting him yesterday - aka putting on his anti flea stuff.)

I think we still have two blackbird chicks - I put some crushed seeds and nuts out for the mother, who looked at me with disdain and will probably completely ignore it.

Evening wenches. DD brought DGS round this afternoon while she went to have her nails done. He remained glued to his iPad and hardly said two sentences, while I knitted. It does get easier when they’re not wanting you to do things with them.

Back to work for me today although still a bit tired. Fortunately is not exactly a manual job or on my feet all day so I’ll manage.

Morning all. Hot and sunny this morning. There's definitely 3 baby blackbirds in the next still, and there might be a father helping out. It was hard to tell without getting too close to scare it off this morning, since I'd only opened the curtains a tiny bit. The sparrows are currently stuffing their faces on the bird table, and I rescued a mouse from the hoover's extension pole. Clearly something went on overnight, since hoover and bits are everywhere. I know DH was up in the middle of the night because he couldn't sleep (so by default I was woken up too) but he didn't mention moving the hoover about the floor and KillerKitty isn't capable of doing that. This feels like a case for CSI Paris <puts in a call to the HBFs - more fun than just asking DH>

Afternoon. The weather app promised sunny intervals all day so I got jobs done this morning and thought I'd sit outside this afternoon. Nooooo, the sun disappeared at lunchtime.

Yay for three baby blackbirds and a possible father. Hope the Case of the Moving Hoover has been solved.

I am currently making soup from a glut of tomatoes.

In wildlife news, all the blueberries that I put out for the blackbirds went - hopefully taken by the blackbirds. In other be nice to wildlife news, I put out a plastic tray of water for passing wildlife to drink from - hedgehogs, deer etc. There is currently a very happy magpie sploshing about it in. I suspect I'll need to go and re-fill it. At least the surrounding grass will be watered

DD and I toasted her with pink fizz last night. We were going to watch comedy and maybe a Lucifer, but got drawn into the men's team gymnastics in the Commonwealth Games, which was a good distraction.

Rain on and off here alllll day and it’s forecast all the way to Thursday when it improves, just when I go back to work.

She does look very sweet in it Apricot but then tried to grab at it when it was taken off because she thought it was a toy. I’ve started the baby cardigan today.

I once saw a wood pigeon taking a shower - it was perched on a high branch in a rainstorm, lifting its wings in turn to let the rain wash it's erm, wingpits?😂

We had 6mm of rain ovenight - hurrah! It was still mizzling when I went out to feed the chickens this morning, but now it's just cloudy and breezy.

We have men's gymnastics on TV just now - it's a bit mind-boggling, but I have to take DS out and buy last-minute footwear for his sports camp next week, because we got an equipment list last night I'm somewhat unimpressed. DS is, obviously, being uncooperative and grumpy because I'm asking him questions about what he needs. How very dare I. (FFS) (I'm also a bit grumpy because I asked him to sort out footwear a while ago and he wouldn't.)
