Morning off as DS2 has another appointment for his immunisations. I think this is fourth or fifth attempt so everything is crossed.

Fingers crossed for DS2 LetUs - we have boosters booked for later this month.

Disorganised client gets a pass because they are ego-boostingly lovely about me (I logged on this morning to an email of "God, you're good!" from Athos and I'm feeling very smug/happy/appreciated.)

I'm also having a very late/disorganised start this morning due to logging on early for DisorganisedClient - must go and eat before my stomach digests itself.

Disorganised is definitely allowed in that situation.

Still a no for DS2. Poor love tried his best and was mostly fine until he got into the treatment room. They’re going to see if they can refer him to someone who deals with needle anxiety. I think he’s feeling a bit down about it, even though I’m doing all the reassuring and stuff.

Afternoon. Very pleasant autumnal day.

We had a good meet-up this morning. Ex-DIL hasn’t changed a bit, still glam and chatty and bubbly. Such a shame it didn’t work out, but there was fault on both sides.

Oh poor DS2 LetUs. Hope they can find someone to help.

We’re watching The Watcher in the evenings on Netflix. It’s bloody terrifying.

It’s a shame for him. Am getting concerned that time’s moving on and he’s not had these boosters and I think he really could do with them before going to college next September. So fingers crossed for him.

Absolute <snort> at the vision of cats/binoculars/squirrels. I'm in KillerKitty's bad books because he brought a mouse in, and I put him out with it. And he brought it in again, and I put him out and help the mouse escape.

There has been more work and last-minute shenanigans and phone calls and stuff. I am currently at ChateauFancy, where my trip was disrupted by my phone playing silly buggers and saying it had no signal and then refusing to bluetooth the music to the car, giving me a late night Radio 2 soundtrack Tomorrow I have more work (piggy-backing of ChateauFancy's wifi) and then a work-related evening out.

I'm also at the idea of someone being more glam than apricot

I’m going to organise my various ongoing knitting tasks in one of the notebook I bought for that purpose. This will a) frighten the life out of me as to how many things I’ve got ongoing/almost but not quite finished, and b) not prevent me in any way from buying more stuff to start another project.

Raaaaaiiiinnnnnnn. I have stuff I should be doing, errands to run, etc. I won’t accomplish any of them by sitting on the settee watching television.

Afternoon. Rain this morning but it cleared up this afternoon. We were woken up at 6 o’clock by the delightful sound of Misty being sick on the bedroom carpet. Lovely! She eats too much too quickly.

DH is now making his soup. Smells delish.

I like the idea of a knitting notebook LetUs, very efficient.

ChateauFancy sounds amazing.

I am back home and the car radio/my phone behaved themselves this time - phew. ChateauFancy is indeed a 5 accommodation, which doubles as a banking service when you discover that you've come out without your bank cards Fortunately I'd paid for work-related things up front, so Fancy* didn't have to drain her bank account. Bloody annoying though <rolls eyes at self>

Can recommend West Brompton Cemetary if you fancy a mooch round Victorian graves and monuments - lots of suitable OTT mausoleums and angles draped about the place. It's also got information boards about the meaning of different motifs, e.g. 'broken pillars' are a thing to indicate a life cut short - not a sign that there have been vandals about breaking monuments

I am blushing at all the generous guest reviews As I always say, wench guests are the best guests, so I shall give you all five stars in return.

Work-related-evening was very interesting, nice mixture of funny and thought-provoking. Brompton Cemetery was also good, I want to return with food for the squirrels as they were very bold.

Oh dear Misty, it's such a rude awakening.

Tipped it down all morning but wasn’t too bad this afternoon. I bought some circular knitting needles and had a go at knitting in the round for the first time. I’ve done a hat for DS1 and rather liked not having to do the tedious sewing up the seam. <ignores multiple part done projects, although they are all nicely noted down now>

That cemetery sounds very interesting, particularly the information about the different structures. There’s one in Glasgow (I think) that I keep meaning to visit when I go up.

Feeling rather tired but in theory we get that extra hour tonight.

Glasgow's necropolis is awesome - I was telling Fancy about it as we yomped walked respectfully around the graves.

Oooh, I'd forgotten about the clocks going back tonight! Yay for the extra sleep. DH woke me up with a WhatsApp this morning <nae> after not much sleep - I wasn't overly impressed, so I can catch up tonight.

... or, I can not get to sleep, and then when I do, wake in in the middle of the night from a deram where DS died. FML.

We went out for lunch en famille as DS had his children. We attempted to do a nearby nature walk after as we’d never done it before, but we had to give up as it was too muddy and we weren’t properly attired.
