Evening wenches.

That’s a relief about the car Apricot. Have fun at the caravan.

Could just be hormones Helen. God knows DS2 doesn’t need a reason to kick off. Of course, there could be something bothering in but I’d lean towards teen hormones really ramping up.

Also have a pile of files at work that I can’t do anything with until I get responses to my emails.

Am hoping to get a better night’s sleep tonight.

FancyFancy · 11/10/2022 20:47

Evening. Well work was frustrating, meeting at which the usual issues weren't resolved. Just once would it kill the bosses to try things our way and see if it's any better? Or should we just try asking again but after we've grown cocks? <Eyerolls>

Instead I shall pretend it's yesterday - had a nice day with FancyMan and then in the evening we saw a NT broadcast of Jack Absolute Flies Again. Very diverting and I have a new euphemism : '<insert hbf of choice here. Literally if possible> really turns on my taps' 😁

Hope all wenches are having a relaxing evening and miniWenches are all ok.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/10/2022 21:10

Evening all.

Good news about the MOT and a nice caravan break for Apricot

I think you may be right about teenage hormones LetUs - if it's anything else, he's not going to admit to it, so there's not much I can do. Fingers crossed for your piles of files to reduce soon. I ended digging out the rest of our blocked drain while I waited for emails.

Shock Fancy - are you saying that management ignore the advice of the people actually doing the work? Hmm FFs and all that. Glad you had a good day though. Didn't Anne see Jack Absolute as well? <snort> at the new euphamism Grin

LetUsPrey · 12/10/2022 07:51

Morning wenches.

Can very much relate to your ignored suggestions Fancy, particularly with the probability because no penis.

<cwtch> hopefully it’s just the hormones Helen. Bastard hormones though.

Running a bit late this morning so better crack on.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 12/10/2022 18:01

Turns out we're in London during the coronation, don't know if that's a good or a bad thing?

Good news about the car Apes. Hope you have a good time at the caravan Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/10/2022 18:21

Evening all. Manic morning today - get DS out the door and then stewed up some fruit that was threatening to liquidify, herded out 3 or 4 wasps and a big house spider, then raced out the door to work where I did... stuff.

Bit of rain this afternoon, but not much at home. Hope that Apricot's not had too much - I think it's come over from that direction Confused.

If you like coronation crowds then it's a good thing Wicked, otherwise, probably not so much - I imagine it will be another bank holiday with everything shut. Though I've read nothing about it (apart from a headline giving the date) so I don't actually know.

<cbf> at work twattery - “That’s an excellent suggestion, Miss Triggs. Perhaps one of the men here would like to make it.” etc. Fortunately most of my colleagues aren't stupid enough to pull that shit. Higher up in the management is could well be another matter, but one particular dinosaur is on his way out to pasture.

FancyFancy · 12/10/2022 20:56

Evening.
The non-penis having is I think relevent. I think they also just like to hear 'yes it can be done to that timetable' rather than looking at past experience and realising that the timetable is only achievable without the inevitable interruptions caused by being understaffed and never having time to finish a job before the next one starts. Grrrr.

Well that will be interesting ww, hope you like crowds!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 12/10/2022 21:01
Confused
LetUsPrey · 12/10/2022 22:34

Evening wenches.

I am convinced that my workplace is my industry version of yours Fancy. <passes pink and HBFs>

That’s a busy day Helen squeezed into a few hours!

What Helen and Fancy said Wicked (although my knowledge is limited).

It’s DS1’s very special birthday today and I was a bit fed up this morning at not seeing him - even though there’s been other birthdays we’ve not seen him - but his girlfriend messaged me earlier this afternoon to say they were coming down. He didn’t know until this evening and only I knew here so it was a lovely surprise Smile

LetUsPrey · 13/10/2022 07:39

Morning wenches.

Was dark and rainy and now seems to be foggy. Was awake from about 5.30 and was just managing to drift off back to sleep when the alarm went off. <stumbles around the kitchen>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/10/2022 08:04

Morning wenches. It's not foggy here, but it's grey and a bit dismal. Realised that I haven't picked windfalls up for a couple of days, so filled a bucket up on my way in from the chickens.

Awww, happy birthday (yesterday) to LetUsDS1, how lovely to get a surprise visit Grin Less lovely to wake up at 5:30. <opens new box of matchsticks and adds extra caffeine to the Brew >
<passes time-turners all round to give a few extra hours in bed/more time to get work done>

FancyFancy · 13/10/2022 08:29

I'M ON THE TRAIN
Heading into VeryBigCity to see a client.

Yay for surprise visits!

In solidarity with your chickens Helen mine are indoors too as they kept blowing over in the wind

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/10/2022 09:46

VeryBigCity?! - how exciting to be on a bullet train to Tokyo Fancy Wink

My chickens thank yours for their inspiring demonstration of solidarity - are they also pooing on the kitchen floor and eating the catfood? That's what Houdini does if she gets in the house Grin

I should be working. I am a bit bored and demotivated - still doing lots of waiting around for other people. FFS. I don't really want to go and dig more holes in the garden in leiu of freelancing, though I have still got to dig down and investigate if the soakaway is working. I worry that it's not, if the downpipe was silted up - vague logic suggests that the soakaway probably got silted up too - unless the downpipe got blocked first. <le confusion/sigh>

ApricotCrush · 13/10/2022 17:33

Afternoon from sunny Wales. It’s been a lovely day. We went to NearbyTown this morning to do the usual Poundland thing and this afternoon I’ve been sodukoing on the decking. I feel bad when you’re all working so hard. Very impressed with Helen’s groundwork efforts.

<cbf> at Fancy’s bosses.

It would be that weekend, wouldn’t it WW?

Belated happy birthday to LetUsDS1. Yay for surprise visit.

Bullet train <snorts> Erm not quite Grin

LetUsPrey · 13/10/2022 20:30

Evening wenches.

Really really don’t feel bad Apricot Grin And let’s face it, it’s not like you do sod all the rest of the time.

Unsurprisingly I am zero help with your soakaway issues Helen. Have given up with actual responses I need to emailed queries because the replies coming back are sort of answering what I’ve asked but not really and I’ve lost the will to email them again and again.

Love the chicken tales Grin

Today I had someone on the phone ranting at me for something that’s absolutely nothing to do with me and isn’t even a department I’ve ever worked in. I just happened to be the person who answered the phone. People getting angry very quickly is becoming increasingly common, and they think it’s entirely reasonable for them to behave like that and speak to us like that. So that was nice.

Should have picked my knitting up for a bit tonight but I haven’t. Going to have a go at Duotrigordle which I actually managed to complete last week which made me happy.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/10/2022 07:41

Morning wenches. It's misty<nto> here and seems to be getting more so as the sun rises.

I ought to be dealing with more liquidifying fruit really. <wilts>

Oh - I found out that DS has had a falling out with some friends, which might account for his grumpiness, or not, because I think that happened a few weeks ago. Ho hum. He was very nice and helpful and even managed several 'thank you's without prompting yesterday though, so that was good.

Hope that Duotrigordle went well LetUs (I think I did it yesterday) and that work goes smoothly for everyone, without any worktwats or annoying ranty phone calls, and that Apsircot carries on chilling on all our behalfs!

LetUsPrey · 14/10/2022 07:49

Morning wenches.

Friend fallings out + hormones Helen. Fun fun fun. Sounds like he was lovely yesterday.

As far as work’s concerned, it’s Friday so there’s that.

Missed Duotrigordle by two.

ApricotCrush · 14/10/2022 16:49

Afternoon. We were going for a walk on the beach this morning but it’s tipped it down all day, so I’ve been knitting instead.

Going out for a meal later.

LetUsPrey · 14/10/2022 19:46

Evening wenches.

Work was thankfully quite quiet today.

Was going to have a bath tonight but DS2’s coming down with a cold so I think a bath will help him.

Even the rain isn’t spoiling your break Apricot. Enjoy the meal.

I shall pick up my knitting too seeing as I’m not having a bath.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/10/2022 23:01

FFS. I typed a message, got distracted, then sodding computer put the MN tab into hibernation and lost my post.

One of my teeth has just lost a big chunk off the side for no apparent reason, and DS has come back from SportTraining without the charging cause for his ear bud things. FFAS.

I'm not in a terribly good mood.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/10/2022 09:52

Charging CASE. Hopefully it will be wherever he left it, or in lost property. I'll find out later.

Anyway, morning all. It's sunny and breezy outside. I have a walk planned later, so really ought to have some breakfast.

LetUsPrey · 15/10/2022 10:56

Morning wenches.

Ouch at tooth Helen Sad and <glare> at MiniHelen. Hopefully you’ll have a calming walk in good weather.

I have baked, washed up, done washing, collected prescription, been to yarn shop, and now need to shower as we’re going up to take out DS1 for a birthday lunch.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/10/2022 13:37

OMG LetUs I feel exhausted just reading that list!<nto> (I've also had a two hour walk with new neighbour, and I'm a bit unfit tired). Have a lovely lunch.

DS has not found the case for his ear buds. <cbf> all round, though he'll be feeling really upset and annoyed with himself so I will be understanding and sympathetic when he gets home - DH has been the 'bad cop' in this scenario and done all the telling off.

Washing is on the line here <looks out window> yep - still there, not blown away in the wind yet. I have to pick windfalls, process windfalls, make soup... the list of chores is long today. I've also done hoovering and washed the filter, so now I can't do any more hoovering until it's dry - result! GrinHope everyone is having a nice day.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 15/10/2022 18:14

Cheers everyone 🍷
