🍷 for Letus

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/10/2022 21:27

The HBFs say that it's definitely bedtime LetUs - sympathies on the actual manshapes.

Computers updates are a pain in the arse. Speaking of computers and pains in the arse, our delightful new system at work has decided to make one of the existing processes twice as long and complicated. It's been slow, but working for months. Now it's twice as slow. F.M.L. etc. It's been a very long day and I have no attention span left.

Hope that work went well and you got lots done Fancy, continued fingers crossed for Apricot's computer.

<pours Wine and Gin for everywench, and also Brew and Cake because why not.>

LetUsPrey · 08/10/2022 09:15

Morning wenches.

That’s quite a selection there Helen.

What is it with work systems that get updated and make things worse?

<saves the Winefrom Wicked for later>

Today is wrapping presents for various people, washing, baking, bookshop visiting, then out for meal tonight for my mum’s Big Birthday which we’re not allowed to mention.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/10/2022 09:29

Morning all. It is bright and sunny outside. DS is still asleep (or in bed), DH is also in bed. I have been a cat bed and then turfed him off for turning into KillerKitty whilst on my lap.

Today we have to go through the freezer to see what's in there that is taking up so much space. Chest freezers are great, but they do just accumulate unidentified things that collect and the bottom where you can't see them Sad. Then there may be some 'helping BestFriend' move house activities. Right now I am doing 'sitting on the sofa' activities.

Have a good day all, the birthday meal out sounds lovely LetUs - have lots of fun.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 08/10/2022 10:54

One bonkers dream coming up: My mum and I was walking around a lot of cliffs, she dumped a lot of sardines (WTF) there for the birds to eat so they wouldn’t go to waste. Suddenly she started whining about wanting to go to Africa and the next thing I know I’m there, not her, and was in a TV studio with some other people, and the we went on a golf cart through a mall to a restaurant and I was thinking about what I wanted to order and then I woke up.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 08/10/2022 10:55

Have fun tonight Letus 🍷

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/10/2022 14:32

Grin Wicked that sounds suitably bonkers.

ApricotCrush · 08/10/2022 16:33

Afternoon. Nice day. We had our flu jabs this morning and now my arm’s painful as usual.

In computer news, we won’t hear from PC man until Monday so we moved the laptop upstairs for me to use and that won’t work either. It’s always been a bit temperamental and obviously objects to being moved. <cries>

We’ve got a chest freezer Helen, amazing what you find at the bottom. Hope the house move went well.

Lovely dream WW. I dreamt someone was building an extension on our house and I was annoyed that I hadn’t been consulted. Confused

Happy Birthday to LetUsMum. Have a lovely time.

Evening. Did a bit of work this afternoon, but was rewarded at the end by a cracking view from the desk of bats flying round the garden.am now just lolling around thinking about what to do with the rest of the evening. As Aramis doesn't appear to be an option (rude) a warm bath sounds appealing.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/10/2022 22:31

Evening. Bath sounds good, but I think I've left it a bit late.

Today has been digging out block down-pipes, and cooking. We did the freezer, which wasn't too painful and now we have a lot more room that we did, just by stacking stuff a bit more sensibly.

We've got the last Star Wars film on - Kylo is mooding about. I think I may head for bed.

LetUsPrey · 08/10/2022 23:08

Evening wenches.

Back home after a very lovely evening out. Much food and drink so I shall catch up in the morning. Night lovely wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/10/2022 08:32

Morning all. The sunrise was probably lovely and misty and golden here - but I slept through it, hurrah! It's bright and sunny with some fairly big clouds floating about.

Glad you had a good night out LetUs. Today will be more drains (if we have time) and more house moving shenanigans with BestFriend.

Hope everywench has a good day.

LetUsPrey · 09/10/2022 12:10

Afternoon wenches.

Hope your arm’s feeling less sore Apricot. I’ve got my flu jab in a couple of weeks.

I’m planning a bath this afternoon whilst the football’s on.

<sends HBFs round to help Helen help BestFriend with the move>

Didn’t sleep at all well. I think the food, whilst delicious, was a bit rich for me because I had bad stomach pains all night. Plan to not do much today.

FancyFancy · 09/10/2022 12:42

Afternoon, sunny here so laundry and gardening.

How's the arm apricot? My flu jab is on Tuesday, hoping for as little reaction as in the past.

ApricotCrush · 09/10/2022 17:16

Afternoon. Sunny and windy here and I’ve just remembered the washing is still on the line, better go and fetch it in.

The arm’s not too bad thanks although I couldn’t sleep on it and for some reason my right leg is painful when I sleep on it, so I couldn’t sleep on the other side either. Consequently I didn’t have a good night but then I never do really. No other side effects from the jab.

Hope everywench has had a good day.

Evening wenches.

<preps soothing HBFs for Fancy, sends extra to Apricot>

Stomach still not great. Fortunately I’m off tomorrow but still have the usual start to the day with DS2 and then someone‘s coming to service the boiler <nae> at around 8.30.

Had hoped to watch the final episode of Karen Pirie tonight but there’s zero chance of me making it to 11pm.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/10/2022 18:56

What you need apricot, is a set of HBFs to make sure you sleep comfortably. Or at least to entertain you if you can't. Grin

I have been house moving all day and I'm a bit pooped. The weather has been good here as well, thankfully (trying to move in the rain would be horrible). No HBFs turned up to help, which is just rude and inconsiderate. DH and DS helped a bit though, and DH also did domestic stuff at home - sorted out the washing that I put on before I left, and stuck a casserole in the slow cooker. And got stung by wasps. (I think he may have forgotten that we have a wasp next by one of the fruit trees, so we have lots of wasps who are drunk on rotting windfalls, and not keep on being disturbed by gardening.)

My plans for this evening are food and a bath. And sleeeeeeep. <snores gently to self>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/10/2022 07:47

Wenches, I'm tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiired. Woe is me.

I fell asleep in the bath last night, dragged myself out and into bed and then couldn't get back to sleep. Woe, woe, etc

In other, less whiney news, it's raining and KillerKitty is camped outside the catflap eating a rabbit (which was presumably too much work to bring in).

LetUsPrey · 10/10/2022 08:25

Morning wenches.

<pushes Helen to hayloft>
<covers with blankets and HBFs>

Stomach still a bit iffy so glad of the day off. Things to do though which explains why I’m sitting watching tv.

ApricotCrush · 10/10/2022 19:06

Evening. Nice day, bedding washed and back on the bed.

DD just came round from work as we haven’t seen each other for over a week. We had a good natter and catch up.

No news about the computer. I’m fed up of everything going wrong, it’s depressing. My car is in for an MOT tomorrow and I’m convinced it will fail. No reason really.

Hope the boiler is okay LetUs and you got done what you wanted to do.

Oh dear, bad KillerKitty. I will wait in vain for the HBF’s tonight Helen. Hmm

LetUsPrey · 10/10/2022 20:04

Evening wenches.

Boiler tickety boo so this can be a sign that your car will pass its MOT Apricot. Catch up with DD sounds an excellent way to spend some time.

Went to the surgery to see nurse for a few bits and pieces. All good there. Did a bit of jigsawing this afternoon, which was my reward for doing washing, ironing, putting clothes away, and washing up in the morning.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/10/2022 21:42

Evening all. Hurrah for the boiler and fingers crossed for tomorrow's MOT (and the computer).

We had nice weather and got washing done today as well, though I was late getting it in, so it probably needs to be hung out to air overnight.

Killer Kitty spent most of the day in a food coma - I suspect he had already eaten one rabbit before the one he brought back to the house, because his eating effort was pretty feeble his usual standards.

LetUsPrey · 11/10/2022 07:38

Morning wenches.

KillerKitty definitely living up to the name. Wonder if those skills are transferrable?

Another shit night’s sleep so if anyone sees me, don’t mistake it for the start of the zombie apocalypse. It’s just me trying to get through the day.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/10/2022 09:54

Morning wenchs
<passes matchsticks and Brew to LetUs>

I packed DS off to school and have been cooking up windfalls since then. Rock'n'Roll. Minorly concerned about DS - he kicked off last night about something relatively minor (though admittedly unfair), but it seemed an over-reaction. He insists that there's nothing wrong at school or with friends that made last night the straw on the camel's back, but Hmm Sad Something's up and he's not talking about it. Does anyone have a handy mind-reading kits I could borrow? I miss the days of easily solved tantrums over obvious causes, like a broken banana.

Work-wise, I'm in that awkward lull of having loads of stuff that needs doing, but it's all waiting for other people to do their bits first.
<twiddles fingers>

<keeps everything bar legs crossed for ApricotCar's MOT>

ApricotCrush · 11/10/2022 16:57

Afternoon. Well, I got my knickers in a twist over the MOT. After taking the car to the garage we found out that it’s not due for another month Blush. So that’s one worry over with for the time being.

We’re going to the caravan tomorrow. The weather’s not looking amazing but at this time of year it doesn’t really matter.

Hope you get a better night LetUs and that you find out what’s bothering DS Helen. <cwtch>
