Afternoon. Rain stayed away so washing dried. Did another load today. Gosh, life's exciting round here. Hmm

We're watching The Capture too, but I think I may have nodded off during one or two episodes because I haven't a clue what's going on.

Menopause section WW? What, like fans, towels? <googles> Oh, it's underwear, nightwear with anti-flush technology. Can't help thinking this is a gimmick. Confused

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/09/2022 18:26

Evening all. It feels like it's been a long day and I'm knackered.

WTF is 'anti-flush technology'? It sounds like something you use in the bathroom for a faulty toilet!

In other news, no rain here, and traffic was really busy here too Fancy - I'm wondering if summer hols are over and schools are back and it's just that more people are starting to resume pre-covid commutes.

I haven't started The Capture yet - I haven't even finished Gentleman Jack FFS.

<slumps on sofa HBF>

LetUsPrey · 14/09/2022 18:27

Evening wenches.

Don’t seem to have had any issues Helen but I won’t say it for definite.

Funny how it’s okay at work for folk more senior than me to say I only start work at X time so I won’t take calls or have appointments or basically work if I’m in before X time. What’s that LetUsPrey, you’re here but you don’t start for another 40 minutes and you don’t get paid for it? Deal with this, answer the phone, do this for me, etc, etc - come on, get cracking.

One set of lights gone so that made a massive difference to the traffic. Hope it’s not too bad for you Fancy.

I’m going to have a look at that Primark stuff.

First proper batch of homework annnnnnnd meltdown.

FancyFancy · 14/09/2022 23:56

Evening
Traffic not bad but a surprising amount of it given I go into & leave work late to avoid school traffic.

Anti-flush technology? Like helen says - sounds like some toilet-based water saving device.

LetUsPrey · 15/09/2022 07:26

Morning wenches.

Had a look at the vest top and given how I’ve woken up with a soggy vest which then cools and makes me feel unpleasantly cold, I’d give the top a go because it says it stops that feeling happening. Silly name though.

Couldn’t get to sleep for ages, woke up in the night, very weird dreams and awake before 6. And today I have to try and work out some very complicated calculations. That’ll go well then.

<hides in hayloft>
<snoring may give the game away>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/09/2022 07:58

Morning. It's daaaaaaaark (cloudy) and cold (I had to put my dressing gown on). I also had a book and bath and then stayed reading the book until stupid o'clock (in bed) so I'm tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiired, and it's my own stupid fault.

KillerKitty crunched his way through a rabbit at about 11pm, and, unsurprisingly, didn't show up for breakfast first thing. He appeared while I was feeding chickens and ran about like a loon, climbing trees and yowling, then discovered I was wearing the dressing gown and wanted to come up for cuddles.

FancyFancy · 15/09/2022 13:50

Afternoon
Am working at home today & sulking at FancyCat who bit me last night when I was getting my bed all cosy & sorted when I got into bed. Stroppy madam - never had this trouble with ScaredyCat Sad

So far, am not getting on very well at ignoring certain clients so I can get on with working on the one I really need to work on <sighs>

Still, the window cleaner has been, so now I can really see how much the inside of teh windows need cleaning Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/09/2022 17:55

Shock and <cbf> at FancyCat. (She was similarly unimpressed with DH and DS when they tried to stroke her without waiting for her to come and see them.)

My windows are filthy inside and out <le sigh> Yet another job I'm failing to do. Also, guess who forgot about school photo day? I have a shaggy-haired scruffpot photo of DS Grin

LetUsPrey · 15/09/2022 19:36

Evening wenches.

We don’t seem to get regular notice of school photos. Some years yes, some no.

Oh FancyCat that is not acceptable. Is it appropriate to do a <cbf> to a cat?

Fecking knackered at work today so the usual post-3pm rush was even less welcome than usual and having to stay until after 5 was not ideal.

I would say I intend to have an early night but even if I do, chances are I won’t sleep. Tippity top.

LetUsPrey · 15/09/2022 19:37

I missed that Helen had already done the cbf at FancyCat so I shall take it that is is acceptable and will also do one.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 15/09/2022 19:56

Booked a trip to London in May! Wohoo 😀

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/09/2022 22:01

Whoop! That's good news Wicked.

<cbf> at bitey cats is 100% appropriate LetUs and I think you should have an early night - have some inspiration/encouragement....

LetUsPrey · 16/09/2022 07:38

Morning wenches

Excellent news Wicked!

At least there are many reasons there for not sleeping Helen.

Is sunny today but it looks like that chilly sunshine. Friday though so hurrah!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/09/2022 07:49

Morning wenches. Showery here, and it's proper cooling down. I even put wellies on to go out and feed chickens (to keep my feet warm).

Hurrah for Friday, and I'm out after work for pizza and blether, which will be nice.

KillerKitty had another rabbit last night (I just cleared up the debris) He was understandably disinterested in his breakfast, but wanted to pilfer IntelligentCat's - because it's not his. Hmm
Have a good day all, with lots of HBFs and no roadworks. (I suspect that both of these aspirations are unlikely.)

ApricotCrush · 16/09/2022 17:24

Afternoon. I attempted to sit out in the garden this afternoon and it was lovely when the sun was out, but freezing when it went in.

It was DGS's birthday yesterday and we went out for a meal in nearby big city . The traffic was horrendous on the motorway and although we allowed half an hour extra we were still late getting there but they held the table for us. He's having a party for his friends today.

Yay for London visit WW but boo for bad TavCats.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 16/09/2022 19:53

Evening wenches.

Definitely on the chilly side of things now.

Hurrah for pizza and blether Helen.

Happy birthday for yesterday to ApricotDGS. Pleased they held the table for you.

I’m watching the vigil on BBC. Can’t help wonder how they dust the beams in the hall and all those high up fiddly carved bits.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/09/2022 22:33

Evening all. It's cold and wet and windy. Hello Autumn!

Glad you had a nice meal Apricot, what a faff with the traffic though :(

I haven't seen any royalness today, <snort> at the dusting though - the devil is in the detail... If it was left to me, the place would be standing in for Hammer Horror with the layers of dust and cobwebs! (I keep finding cobwebs about the place here.)

FancyFancy · 16/09/2022 23:10

Evening
You are very welcome to <cbf> at FancyCat - she will give you backchat back though Grin I hope she didn't actually bite either of them helen? Shock I am surprised she was unfriendly to MrHelen as she's normally quite a fan as he feeds her

Hope work wasn't too irritating letus? A certain client mostly left me alone today which was good. Left me free to concentrate on the one who always manages to not quite provide all the information I need <sighs>

Yay ww - visit to a cat cafe perhaps?

What is it with traffic at the moment apricot?

LetUsPrey · 17/09/2022 08:51

Morning wenches l

Yet another rubbish sleep and sore itchy eyes.

Work wasn’t horrendous Fancy, but what is it with I’m going to ask you to do something but I’m not going to give you all the information you need?

Today is usual washing, housework and homework. Also a visit to yarn shop and bookshop.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/09/2022 09:40

You read my mind Fancy, I mean, it’s tradition 😀☕️🐈🐈‍⬛

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/09/2022 09:41

Sad for crappy sleep Letus

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/09/2022 12:29

Morning afternoon wenches, it is tipping down here - rain then sun, then rain, etc.

Cute Kitten is being adorable - lots of purring and kneading and snuggling (and forgetting to put his tongue away) Grin and a certain amount of glaring when I dare stop stroking him to try and type.

That's shit about rubbish sleep LetUs - the HBFs insist you get back to bed right now - they have ways of making you sleep (eventually).

A cat cafe & meet-up sounds like a good plan.

I have no plans for today other than tidying the house and trying to find a dead shrew that apparently Killer Kitty was playing with this morning. There is no sign of it now. I live in hope that DH or DS threw it outside before they left, but I suspect not... (Killer Kitty has slid off my lap and is now having a wash and brush up.)

Fancy - yes, she was bitey with DH and DS as well. (I did the feeding - not that she needed much, what with the labrador-sized portions that were left out when we arrived!)

ApricotCrush · 17/09/2022 17:40

Afternoon. Nice day, sunny but cold. DS had his children today and we all went to a classic car show in a local village. <yawn> Actually I think my car would have qualified as it’s 25 years old next month but it would need a bit of bodywork. Hmm Anyway we had a meal in the pub after so it was worth all the standing around not having to cook.

I think our traffic the other night on the motorway was people travelling down to London, although it seems to be bad everywhere at the moment. Confused

I’ve been watching a bit of the vigil. I find it quite hypnotic, particularly the changing of the guard.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 17/09/2022 20:10

Evening wenches.

I have no idea how I managed with broken sleep when the DC were babies. A few broken nights now and I can barely function. I like the HBF idea.

Cut short my yarn shop visit as my eyes were still very sore and it was a bit distracting for me. Woe. Got the new Natalie Haynes book and the Robert Galbraith book. Won’t be reading that in the bath as it’s bloody heavy! Also got a Philippa Gregory from a charity shop for 50p so was pleased with that.

I’ve watched some of the vigil too. Agree about the bit where they change the guard. Started watching a programme about the Crown Jewels last night, presented by Clive Myrie. It’s on iPlayer. All those sparkly jewels - all the pretty.

FancyFancy · 17/09/2022 21:05

Evening, has been bright and a little chilly here. Well, it feels it after all the hot weather.

I'm sorry FancyCat was bitey, she's definitely getting grumpier with age like me she probably couldn't hack the excitement of all those cat sitters - she has a quiet life now it's just her and me!
