Walk was good this morning, we went out in the afternoon and ended up having tea/hot chocolate and ice cream/scone so that was nice. I think I am about 70% ice cream at the moment.

We got a little bit of rain and some thunder today, yay!

Visited mum yesterday and we took a trip to the forest, had a packed lunch with us, and picked som chanterelles. So tired when I got home so I fell asleep in front of the telly (haven't slept that well for several nights because of the heat and humidity).

Yesterday we had two claps of thunder and then a few hours later had 10 minutes heavyish rain 😠feeling cheated. There have been a few showers today but nothing to write home about. Oh and the interviewee cancelled. No reason given

DH has had a housework blitz this afternoon, which is good, but he keeps calling me to do things when I’m doing something else which is annoying.

Millionaires shortbread is fab. It's been cloudy and sunny here, and bloody hot when it's sunny. DS has been out meeting friends - they got rained on. We, five miles away, didn't. <rolls eyes; does rain-dance>

I've done a smidgeon of work, but mostly not much.

Intelligent cat is being very clingy since we got back - she's currently sitting beside me, purring. CuteKitten has also been mostly cute and not too evil. I'm out this evening meeting up with friends, where I will do lots of yawning and hope they don't take it personally.

Am now 95% ice cream. Today was biscoff and bubblegum. Not together - I’m not an animal. Both were delicious. As soon as we left the ice cream shop though, it started raining a lot so we sheltered under the awning of a quite posh bath smellies and body stuff. Went in there and got a few nice treats. Been out for food tonight and I’ve had to change into pjs as soon as we got back as my jeans were far too uncomfortable.

Why is it men generally need to shout for assistance with housework? Mate, if you commit to doing it <nae>, crack on.

Am starting to get paranoid - today's interviewee also cancelled. They cancelled so late last night that the first we knew about it was when my colleague and I arrived early for work specifically for the interview. We declined the request to rearrange. We have some decent applicants though so fingers crossed.....

Morning wenches. It's bright and sunny here, and the tractors are thundering up and down the lane. I have the joys of a mammogram today. There's no good reason for getting squashed like that unless HBFs are involved - and then then, not so much. <clenches>

So far today is going well - am out at a client's. Had to drive there because of the tube strike but traffic was light, have got a reasonable amount of work done so far & everyone out here is being lovely to me

Hope the mammogram wasn't too bad Helen. I don't get them any more, once you get to a certain age they don't care about you bother with routine tests. I was looking at my medical records this morning as I haven't had a result from the heart scan I had in February, and I noticed that I supposedly had a medication review in April. No, I didn't! I'm also overdue for annual blood tests. I think I've disappeared off their list. Can't be bothered to follow it all up though.

The mammogram was surprisingly not-too-uncomfortable, so that was good. Plus I was in and out in no time at all. Something happened when I was driving home, which I thought that I should tell you about. But I can't remember what it was now. 🙄

No rain here today, just sun and a bit of cloud, but mostly sun. And work, so I didn't see too much of the weather really.

Hope that the Friday afternoon commute was ok for Fancy (<CBF> at interview no-shows, but hurrah for nice clients); safe driving tomorrow for LetUs.

She spent the first 6 hours of it travelling back from their holiday, so went to bed when they got back. We've been round this afternoon to take her card and present and may be going out for a meal tonight if she can find somewhere to book at short notice.

Afternoon all. I have been watering garden and getting tomato plants back under control/upright. The 'we have no plans today' lasted until lunchtime, when I had a sudden thought and asked DH when his colleague's wedding is (we have an evening invite for it).

We are back home. Lunch was lovely. They’d arranged a cake which was brought out with people singing happy birthday. Birthday bonus was a good old wander around the Burrell Collection. It’s the first time I’ve been and I don’t think it’ll be the last. Loads of incredible exhibits and beautiful paintings and tapestries. Also, excellent gift shop
