Happy travels LetUs - we are also puddles of sweat in shorts and T-shirts and very glad for air con in the car. Just packing up for the next stage of visiting.

FFS did I not post yesterday? Could've sworn I had, but I have a new work laptop and we have had some ongoing internet issues, so maybe I didn't check I'd posted properly. Or maybe my memory is just crap - it was a disjointed day with the IT issues mentioned and setting up interviews for new trainees. Have had lots of applications so fingers crossed some are good candidates. The chap I called up seemed decidedly unenthusiastic, if that wasn't just his inexperience talking (is only 18) it's going to be a very short interview next week.

Evening all. We are in a Premier Inn with air conditioning. It's actually a bit chilly

at 'hotter than Greece' I think we're cooler than Southern Spain though - Madame is off there as far as I know.

Eek at issues with the new laptop Fancy - I'm due to get one soon as well. I got a new work phone recently and that was traumatic enough - the usual shenanigans with the set-up instructions not matching what the phone was doing

Am very jealous of you being in a Premier Inn tonight helen - fierce air con and comfy beds, what's not to like? A couple of summers ago I stayed in one in the middle of a warm spell. Bliss, the novelty of feeling chilly was fabulous - I had a bath to warm up 😂

Similar to Helen, we are in a Travelodge with air conditioning. I am full of very delicious pizza and a couple of vodkas. Looking forward to the cooked breakfast tomorrow. Went to a park this afternoon just after we’d arrived to play rounders/baseball. On a scale of stupid ideas, that’s fairly need the top.

Hope your candidates are better than some of the ones we’ve been having this year. Let’s say they’ve been a mixed bunch.

What's not to like Fancy? well the air con was nice, but the room above is being used by elephants who came in at midnight, the comfy mattress rolled me towards the middle of the bed, and the pillow was really uncomfortable. I am a moaning minnie, but I'm knackered. DS is also grumpy. DH is usually grumpy in the mornings anyway in the bathroom, but was complaining about his back last night, so he's probably grumpy too. (On the plus side, the black-out curtains are excellent - the sun is splitting the sky outside, but you'd never know.)

We're not going to attempt rounders. Doesn't work with three anyway. <slouches off in tired huff>

Mattress was excellent, pillows less so. Noisiest gulls in the entire world flying about - I’d opened the window. Nice to have a full cooked breakfast that you don’t need to wash up afterwards for.

Gone a bit cloudy but still warm. Forecast for the week changes every couple of hours so I think we’ll get to the point of the “looking out of the window” forecast

Hope wenches are having weather that’s cooling even if only a bit.

Afternoon. Hotter than ever today as there’s no breeze. It’s been a sudoku and Magnum afternoon.

Very envious of the air-conditioning, though not the elephants, gulls and uncomfortable pillows. I always take mine with me when we stay in a hotel, I’ve had too many bad nights on hard pillows.

Evening wenches. We are at holiday destination. About 20 minutes outside of holiday town it started raining and the weather has decided to cling to that theme It’ll be fine and it’s not like we come for the weather. Be nice to have a few clear days though.

Forgot to say, had a very Wench dream about Paella last night. Can’t recall the details of how we met, etc. What I can recall is that he is absolute filth <very much iagw>

Very warm here - didn't feel as fierce as there were some clouds around, but that just means it's more muggy and less clear tonight so won't cool down. The forecast changes by the hour for the next few days - first rain, then none, then thunder. Think I'll follow letus's method of looking out the window

Excellent news re. wench dream! We have potential rain and thunder tomorrow afternoon, and it cooled down to be pleasant this evening while we were having a BBQ on the patio. But it was mostly roasting again.

Quite cloudy today but still quite warm. Rain forecast, possibly some thunderstorms but who knows.

Wander round holiday town today, a bit of shopping and a visit to a yarn shop. Might help if DH got up though.

Well all the thunder has disappeared from our forecast as has today's rain. And tomorrow's rain is now less than 50% probability FFS.

Am going with DD to pick up the keys for her flat for next year and be roped into buying stuff no doubt then dinner afterwards.

I think it’s not raining. We’re off out for forest walk today which DH always says definitely don’t need a coat because it’s all under cover and each time it rains and we’re out in the open

Didn't I post yesterday? FFS. We had a few spatterings of rain, but nothing else. Today we are off to indoor activities with a small her of children. Whoop!

Afternoon
We actually have some rain <does happy dance> admittedly, not much and certainly no satisfyingly heavy downpour with thunder and lightning, but a couple of showers so far that hopefully will actually soak in and soften the ground a little.

Yesterday was nice - good to see the new place and briefly meet the landlord, but by god it was hot, got back late evening to a hot and stuffy house absolutely knackered.

Afternoon. We came back home last night to a house that felt like an oven. Even the carpets were warm to walk on. I couldn’t sleep and ended up in the lounge which was the least hot room. Today I’ve got a headache and don’t feel like doing anything. On the plus side we had a bit of rain in the night and it is cooler now.

Hope holiday activities have gone well.

Indoor activities went well and exhausted the small herd of children. Though not so much BabyElk who felt a bit ill. Mlle Elk, her friends, and DS kept rampaging for a couple of hours though - then got home and plugged back in to xboxes and phones.

We’re getting rain when it’s not forecast. Not entirely unexpected given our location

Today is a walk up the hills and “a drive somewhere to do something” according to DH. He has no idea what. If only someone had been looking into possible things to do and putting suggestions to people for weeks beforehand and getting no responses.
