I woke at 5am and then dozed, so I'm not on best form. I also forgot to water the veg patch yesterday, so I should do that now before it gets too hot. <wilts more>

Bastard of a day at work but two more days to go.

Evening, have had a very dull day, mostly hanging around while the car had its MOT. All went ok - needed new brake discs and pads which was not a surprise. Am now under a cat feeling tired and a bit headachey. Would love some rain and cooler weather but it doesn't look like there's any on the way this week. Am going to have a cup of tea and give myself a relaxing pedicure.

Already quite warm here but at least we’ve not had constant hot and dry.

Just offered DS2 my Biscoff biscuit I got at the end of my meal out as a special treat for later today but he refused! Hope he isn’t ill

Morning all. My car had an MOT yesterday too Fancy One advisory on a tyre "but I wouldn't bother changing it" was my feedback (I had to do new brakes last year). Hope that the cup of tea/pedicure.cat sorted out the headache.

Yesterday involved some painting of the house. There's more to do, but the poor wood cladding is parched. It's the usual thing of not realising how bad it is until you get newly painted wood next to the not-yet-painted.

Hot and sunny again today. Missed the closing ceremony last night because DS wanted to watch one of the StarWars films. 'I am your Father' - that one, whichever one that is.

DS2 refusing the biscuit is a good thing LetUs - all the more for you

Hope that apricot has a nice relaxing day (or gets lots done, depending on preferences) and that wicked hasn't been swept away by rain and thunder!

No relaxing I’m afraid as we have DGS again. DH is keeping him occupied though as I’m packing and getting stuff ready to go to the caravan tomorrow. I’d rather not go this week as it’s forecast to be hot and I like to be at home to do the watering etc. but DS wants to go next week so I need to go to sort the linen and stuff out.

I have finished painting one end of the house. As a result, I can give you a handy list of things you don't want when you're at the very top of the ladder, painting the apex of the gable end:

1. A wasp bouncing off your nose
2. A sudden awareness that you're actually very high up
3. A breeze (which feels like a roaring gale up there)
4. CuteKitten climbing the ladder to join you, and sitting on the rung beneath your feet (Fortunately, I'd needed the extension on the ladder, so the rungs were doubled up, and IdiotKitty was able to just walk back down when DH came out to 'rescue' him.
5. sunburn - oops.

Spent an hour or so jigsawing outside after work today which was very pleasant.

Today was the usual round of frustration and supressing the urge to hurl laptops out of windows. I sat next to someone on our tea who doesn't usually sit with me and was entirely amused by the constant stream of muttered swearing. We established that I was channelling an outraged chicken, but I wasn't saying 'cluck' Also that my brain is full, it's like a library of VHS videos - all but one of then have had their tabs taken out so you can't record over what's stored there, and now I only have one tape left for recording, and the contents is continually being erased and replace by something else - hence I can't remember nothing.

Morning wenches. It is hot and only going to get hotter. I spent at least 2 hours in the garden tidying prior to holidays and now I ought to actually pack But at least the patio is tidy now and the plants are all gathered up together for watering.

Working at home today so am a bit warm, but someone needs to keep FancyCat company - don't like her being on her own all week The cup of tea, pedicure & ibuprofen worked a treat thanks. Headache buggered right off and hasn't returned. Am still feeling a little lethargic, but I dare say I would have more energy if it were cooler & outside wasn't so brown and crispy.

Yikes at your adventures up a ladder helen & hope the packing is going well.
