e-tickets not transferable...trapped!

I have bought my son and DIL and their young children tickets in their city to see Disney on Ice in November. You get sent straight to TicketMaster...there was no choice other than e-tickets. I looked that up and it said they could be transferred and you could print them out (I have a printer - do it all the time) so I booked. four tickets £160. I now find out that they are nontransferable and unprintable and the purchaser has to be present at the door as the tickets will only be available on their (my) phone. I am deeply distressed by this. I can't go there. I have already told the family they are very excited. I don't know what to do. Have any other Mumsnetters come across this?
I have tried contacting TicketMaster to no avail.

I bought tickets for another event, which I went to a few days ago, on Ticketmaster and showed screenshots of my tickets on the door. All they were concerned about was being able to scan the QR code (which works fine with a screenshot .

beachcitygirl · 03/06/2022 11:50

Just give him your log ins. For the love of god woman. Read the comments

Cas112 · 03/06/2022 11:51

Screenshot and send them the screenshots, should be fine they only scan them, they won't check

its not I agree. But I still can't transfer. I just get a message saying I cant transfer.
My Tickets
×4 Mobile Tickets

Transfer Unavailable
Your Phone is Your Ticket
Just display the barcodes below on your mobile device, to be scanned at the door.

So you think no one else can login to your account?

So when I bought tickets on my work laptop, how did I then login to my husbands phone outside the venue to show them the QR code?

tabulahrasa · 03/06/2022 11:54

If they log in as you... then it’s on their phone.

They scan whatever’s there, not check the IMEI of your phone.

Caaarrrl · 03/06/2022 11:54

Why can't your son log in to your account? This has been suggested lots of times, but you keep avoiding answering and this would solve your issue immediately.

NerrSnerr · 03/06/2022 11:55

Where are the tickets? Are they on an app, In your apple wallet or email?

ivy4iona · 03/06/2022 11:56

thank you latest posters. I will put them in the wallet...etc. feel a little bit better already.
although ticketMaster say they have linked tickets only to the purchaser...and I have to show photo-id at the door. ???? the person who has booked this show in December...do you think different venues have different rules? did they buy them as gifts or are they going? Mine at Manchested O2.

Dont take screenshots that wont work

just get him to download the ticketmaster app and use your login and then he'll have the tickets

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 03/06/2022 11:57

Can’t they just borrow your phone for the evening, if it is a family member ?

They won’t ask for ID, the only time ID is required is to prove a child is old enough to attend an age restricted event/venue.

IdiotCreatures · 03/06/2022 12:00

Have you tried phoning them? Not sure if it's open right now but here is the number 0333 321 9999.

ivy4iona · 03/06/2022 12:02

I'll ask my DIL to get a ticketmaster account and I will get her email address...and see if that works thanks.

She doesn’t need to use her own account, she hasn’t bought any tickets. She needs to login to your account.

I was asked for ID for the first time ever earlier this year.
I've been to two more gigs since and not been asked, v random but I make sure I have it now just incase.

Ugzbugz · 03/06/2022 12:06

I've been to 100s of concerts etc that say about the ID crap and it never happens.
Just read what people are saying and let son log into your account. It's simple.

titchy · 03/06/2022 12:11

Christ alive this is hard work. Are you doing it on purpose. Your DIL doesn't need a ticket master account. She needs the login details to your ticket master account. Job done. Everyone happy.

LilacPoppy · 03/06/2022 12:17

Are you on a wind up op? You just give your dil YOUR log in details that’s it’s simple , nothing else you need to do.

WimbyAce · 03/06/2022 12:28

She just needs to log into your account and use the tickets from there.

ivy4iona · 03/06/2022 12:33

I've got this info from ticketmaster : transfer not available.
We’ll provide the option to transfer eTickets whenever we can, but it isn’t available for every event at the moment – it can vary depending on the event.
If you don’t see the option in your account, this means that the transfer facility isn’t currently available. It may be made available nearer the time, but unfortunately this isn’t something we can guarantee or confirm in advance – we can only advise to keep checking back to your account.
If transfer isn’t available, this means that your entire group will need to arrive together for the event and the tickets can only be accessed from your account.
so that's it. at the very least my experience might warn others.

Why are you refusing to give your daughter in law the login details? Are you now just using this as an excuse to stop them going?

LilacPoppy · 03/06/2022 12:36

It’s not a transfer because she can log into YOUR account. Why are you ignoring every poster?

Disney will not ask for id. Just get them to log in to your ticket master account on their phone and show the tickets. It isn't difficult.

MountainClimber22 · 03/06/2022 12:42

I'm confused. The bit you copied states disney on ice is not included in the rules you are going on about.
