e-tickets not transferable...trapped!

I have bought my son and DIL and their young children tickets in their city to see Disney on Ice in November. You get sent straight to TicketMaster...there was no choice other than e-tickets. I looked that up and it said they could be transferred and you could print them out (I have a printer - do it all the time) so I booked. four tickets £160. I now find out that they are nontransferable and unprintable and the purchaser has to be present at the door as the tickets will only be available on their (my) phone. I am deeply distressed by this. I can't go there. I have already told the family they are very excited. I don't know what to do. Have any other Mumsnetters come across this?
I have tried contacting TicketMaster to no avail.

Can you just give your ticketmaster login details to your son, so he can load the tickets on his own phone?

missymarrk · 03/06/2022 11:16

Can you screen shot the tickets and send them on? Or allow whoever is taking your tickets access to your ticket master account for the day? They won't check names or anything.

DorotheaDiamond · 03/06/2022 11:17

Screenshot them on your phone? Give your son the login to your ticket master account? Have never ever been asked for id with tickets so that wouldn’t be an issue!

Joopy · 03/06/2022 11:17

Can you forward the email with the tickets to your son?

Shrimpseyelashes · 03/06/2022 11:17

I’m presuming you have already seen/tried this? From the Ticketmaster website. Sorry if you have but just in case!

Ticket transfer

I hope you get it sorted.

MagicTurtle · 03/06/2022 11:19

If none of the above work, could you just give your son your phone to take with him?

HunterHearstHelmsley · 03/06/2022 11:19

I've booked tickets for Disney on Ice in December and also been emailed the tickets so maybe check your junk.

If not - Either screenshot the tickets and send them via email, WhatsApp etc or give your son your log in details.

IncompleteSenten · 03/06/2022 11:20

Why does it have to be your phone? If it's an email it can be forwarded, if it's an app it can be downloaded etc.

If it has to physically be your phone then courier it to them?

Username917778 · 03/06/2022 11:21

Just give your login details to them for the app.

Shrimpseyelashes · 03/06/2022 11:21

This is interesting too-

Lead booker

Lds1 · 03/06/2022 11:26

I think you'll have to do the ticket transfer, linked above.

I've seen lots of posts like this in a festival group I'm part of.

ivy4iona · 03/06/2022 11:27

I agree with all of you. You'd think that wouldn't you. The email with all the tickets on says this cannot be transferred and no entry by it...it HAS to be the phone of the purchaser. It really is mad. You can only contact them via already set questions and set answers. no help at all. I'm going to look at Lead booker from Shrimpseyelashes as that might help.

Do they do Twitter?
Companies tend to respond pdq because it's so public.

titchy · 03/06/2022 11:34

How can they verify which phone you purchased in though? And what would happen if you lost your phone.

Seraphinesupport · 03/06/2022 11:36

what if you lost your phone. call them say youve booked and now phone has been stolen lost whatever and ask what to do

If they log on to Ticketmaster app as you then to all intents and purposes that IS your phone.

You are overthinking this.

Lds1 · 03/06/2022 11:37

Disney on Ice isn't on the lead booker list.

I think you need the transfer link posted earlier.

Jeansgoals · 03/06/2022 11:39

You can't screenshot, but you can give them your login. It will be absolutely fine.

ivy4iona · 03/06/2022 11:40

"For some events, the lead booker for the order will need to attend the event in person and the tickets can’t be transferred or passed on.
The lead booker is the cardholder for the order – that’s the person named on the card used to pay for the tickets, and is the only name that we take during the checkout process. We advise that if you can't attend the event, that you don't book tickets as a gift for someone else.
If the lead booker has to attend for your event, this will be made clear on our website when you book."
It then lists events for which this applies. Disney on Ice not included. It was not made clear when booking. In fact I lost three lots of tickets because I read so many of the rules and conditions I took so long and although I'd have preferred physical tickets it did not say they would be untransferrable.
Thanks for your comments. Looks like I will have to sell them..Which apparently I can do but not to my son or DIL. Then I could ask them to book and I would send them the money. Could I send them my iPhone ? by post? well yes but a bit extreme and then they would have to to post it back to me I would be without it for quite a while and it might get lost...
I feel so bad. I only knew about the show because my grandchild has a form of muscular dystrophy and the charity had made it their prize show ...and I thought what a good idea!! gutted.

They can just login to your ticketmaster account from their form, we have done this multiple times when going to events, the most recent being last week. Do you think people who buy them on a laptop take their whole laptop with them?

HerLadySheep · 03/06/2022 11:44

Download the tickets to your Apple wallet and you can then send them from here, click on the three dots top right corner and forward them. I did this recently and it definitely works.

beachcitygirl · 03/06/2022 11:45

You're totally overthinking this. Get your son/dil to download the app & give them your log ins.

The end.

tabulahrasa · 03/06/2022 11:46

Just get them to log in ad you either in the website or on the app, the qr code is then there to ge scanned - my DD logged in as me on Monday to go to a concert.

ivy4iona · 03/06/2022 11:48

its not I agree. But I still can't transfer. I just get a message saying I cant transfer.
