si, it's scan day for hhell today!

X fingers for Hot, I hope she gets the results she needs to get the CVS (not that I want the baby to be ill, I just hope she gets the points needed to be referred for a cvs to put her mind at rest, IYSWIM).

DD is fine today, packed her off to nursery. She's still not eating much but her cold is on the whole better so I'm sure her appetite will pick up soon.

Much crap on telly at the moment, although we've been assiduously watching X factor. anybody else watching it? Simona Ventura is really beginning to get on my nerves. Now that she's had her lips redone she looks like Julie Walters in that film where she played the old biddy in glasses. Did you know Morgan comes from Monza? Both of Blu Vertigo do, DP even saw Andy when he popped into a bar for a coffee. There you go, I'm sure your lives are richer for that bit of information.

No, I won't get sucked into watching il grande fratello. I never have and you don't need to watch it to laugh like crazy with the Gialappa's band.

I don't like Simona Ventura either, I watched that bit where she argued with Morgan about being "popolare". I hate people who are proud of appealing to the minimo comune denominatore, or whatever it is.

I like her the most out of the 3, she says what she thinks which is better than the falsità of Simona Ventura. she seems quite a character. Have you met her too?

don't know re consultorio, I've always had my smear tests done at mangiagalli

Consultorio is the way to go. I used to go to the one in the piazetta behind my house, but I think there's one at the bottom of Corso Italia too, at least that's where the consultorio pediatrico is so I should imagine there's a familiare one too.

If not there's the one in via Conca di Naviglio where I used to go. The nurse/ostetrica is called Antonella and is very nice. If she's still there, that is.....

Well had scan this am, normal nuchal scan, 1.7mm, wont't tell me percentage risk though till they get the blood results, that should take 2 weeks, if they find anything wrong only a couple of days. Found the service very slipshod, not sure about doing a private cvs, boh, non ci capisco. Asked to speak to a consultant to discuss nuchal scan, ended up with another midwife, explained dodgy family history (you know the cousin who had ill baby , blah blah) she said that they would only recommend a diagnostic test if myself had had a previous sick baby...almost laughed, anyway told her that is the whole point, i don't want a sick baby and learn from experience...boh, boh, boh.
I guess we wont' know about pippi till she goes back home, she might have had the baby by now.....piiiiiiiiiiipppppiiiiiii

You should try Buono la Prima with ale and Franz on Italia uno . I sometimes find it hard to laugh at Italian comedy but these guys are good . I liked them on Zelig as well. Must go and start the risotto for dd but doubt she will eat it after seeing zia and nonna un lindt bunny andata ( ok diviso on il cugino)

Glad your scan went OK Hhell, it's a shame you can't get through to these people. It's probably too late now but with hindsight it might have been an idea to invent a problematic pregnancy when you were still in Italy (unless you've been in the UK since you were 10, that is) as they're hardly likely to check up. Oh well, you can use that for your next pregnancy. I'm sure everything will be OK but I understand your need for certainty.

Rosa, I am not a Simona Ventura fan, thank you and I've always hated GF, right from the first series, so there! I'm not a huge fan of Italian comedy shows either, Zelig had some good acts at the beginning but lately most of them have been singularly unfunny, even by DP's standards. DP likes Ale e Franz though, even went to see the film.

Right, off to invent something for dinner. I have no imagination atm but a fridge full of vegetables to get through....

I'm a great fun of some Italian comedy programs, Gialappa's band, Corrado Guzzanti, Crozza and all the Serena Dandini's ones (have recently found out that there is a new one on rai tre but very late at night)

Serena Dandini is amusing, I watch her quite often. I do like the satirical programmes, it's the stand up acts I don't find funny. But then I don't really find them funny in the UK either.

TV is crap, Ibut at least there's CSI and it's not a replica (gasp!).

we watched Brainiac last night nothing else on DH is up on CSI as watches it on sky. But I went to bed early ( quel surprise).
