Been out to dinner with friends, the food was quite nice but loud music so don’t think we will go there again. We went to a café after where I got a very expensive latte but it was quiet and relaxing there ☕️

Evening all. Quite a productive day work-wise, but I'm tired and headachey Early night and stuff for me. I look forward to hearing about the adventures of ApricotCat tomorrow (though I suppose, being a new cat, the adventures may mostly be 'hiding behind the sofa')

How is the cat apricot? And yep, she will no doubt sleep wherever she wants, although a fresh pile of folded washing may tempt her 😂

Had my mammogram appointment this morning, so that was fun. Have definitely had worse however and the woman doing the mammogram was very pleasant and efficient so it passed mercifully quickly.

Woke up early again but then managed to get back to sleep. Dreamed that Helen had already posted this morning to say that she and MrHelen had been discussing a direct debit but then he didn’t want to do that anymore so he went off and married an antelope.

Friday at last. For a short week it’s been a long week.

Morning all. Nice and sunny and I have fed the livestock and done a quick dig-over of the compost heap to stop the weeds getting too established in it.

Howling with laughter at MrH going off and marrying an antelope. That it the best ever bonkers dream. 😂 (OK, I'll give MN an improvement point for the wider range of Emojis on desktops) That's just fabulous! My head seems to be better thank you. I've had a breast screening thingy come through from the NHS. I just cringe at the idea of having bits of me squished like that. I ought to book in with them though [cringe] I vote for the HBFs to be in charge of breast examinations. Must more enjoyable and thorough.

Urgh to loud music at meals. It's completely unnecessary - unless you don't like the people you're eating with.

Today is Boring Office job. Yay! (not) More wrestling with the new and baffling finance system:
Instructions (I kid you not): "When you want to do XYZ, do not press on the button that says 'Do XYZ' because then the system will reject it. You have to leap through these menus and find 'Do XYZ' buried in the middle this list (hidden in a tiny window that you have to scroll through).... No, of course we can't remove the button you mustn't use."
FFS and all that. I shall book in a 'meeting' with colleagues doing similar jobs and have a winge-fest with them.

Afternoon. Wenches, meet Misty. She was hiding under my desk in the first pic. Picture courtesy of the rescue lady. OMG it's like having a new baby. We had about 3 hours sleep. We left the doors open and she came down to the lounge last night, did a recce of the perimeter, climbed on all the chairs and went back upstairs. We went to bed, she didn't! She spent most of the night squeaking to us, presumably to make sure we were still there. I ended up putting a night light on so she could see us.

This morning I went searching for her - nowhere to be found. We searched for half an hour, there were only 3 rooms she could be in, the burglar alarm was on and most of the doors were shut. DH decided he couldn't go to golf if we couldn't find her. I thought this is great, she's been here 12 hours and we've lost her. Anyway, DH found her eventually stuck in a tiny space right at the back of my desk. We thought we'd have to dismantle the desk which is bolted in, but she managed to get herself out in the end. She's spent the rest of today asleep under the chaise in DD's room.

I hate loud music when I'm having a meal WW.

Hope LetUs has had a better day. Your dream is hilarious.

Yes, we know you want to submit what you’re doing and there’s a big thing here that says SUBMIT but if you press that, it won’t submit it, and you’ll have to start again. You’ll have to go to the next page, do something else, then go back and submit. BUT DON’T FORGET TO PRINT IT FIRST because there’s no going back to print it after. However, we won’t tell you any of this.

DH and I have the Covid. I’m wondering if my “just a cold” earlier this week wasn’t that. DH looks, feels and sounds rubbish. I feel like a complete fraud not going into work. Have everything crossed my “just a cold” was the worst of it for me.

Oh dear - fingers crossed that your cold was the worst of it LetUs - enjoy the enforced break from work (and the HBF medics that I helpfully lined up this morning). I think Malc is in a similar boat, and her main problem is boredom! Also, your work system sounds very similar to our stupid 'improved' system.

Afternoon. We had a much better night last night. I think on the first night Misty couldn't find a place that suited her to sleep, but she's found it now. She's slowly emerging and exploring and learning to trust us. DD and DGS came this afternoon, but she stayed in her safe spot and they couldn't see her properly. It will take time but we're letting her take it at her own pace.

Sorry you and DH have Covid LetUs, but if you are reasonably well you can enjoy the rest. I wouldn't be surprised if what I had the other week was Covid, although I tested negative on a lateral flow. I've never had a cough like it.

Done a bit of work, the taxes, went for a walk and also managed to get rid of my old bike, I gave it away on FB and a woman collected it right away. The gears are not working properly but she knew someone whi could fix that 😀👍

Afternoon, so far it's been a day of domestic chores, nothing too strenuous though - sounds like ww has done more! It's still sodding windy out there - it's done for all the blossom which is a shame.

Evening wenches. Busy day of removing carpet and underlay as we’ve got new flooring being put down tomorrow. They’re still happy to come and we’ll just stay out of their way. Need to shift furniture in the morning which should be fun seeing as I’ve done my back whilst moving stuff today. Bath and a sleep should hopefully do the trick.
