Afternoon. Nice day here, washing has dried nicely.

Awww at reuseable cat fluff.

Hope backs are better soon.

Have a good evening all.

Evening wenches.

That’s so sweet about the cat fluff on the bird feeder! Sort of a building supplies shop for the birds.

Not done much really. Just nearly had a knitting disaster. I was checking number of stitches having cast on 54. I only had 45. Checked again and thought I must have miscounted when casting on. Was just about to slide the whole thing off the needle and unravel it - probably about 15 rows - and start again. Realised just in time I’d done some decreasing about 10 rows back and 45 is the correct number of stitches. I’d have been rather cross with myself if I’d unraveled it all.

Just waiting for DS1 and his girlfriend to get here.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 10/04/2022 19:42

Resting after a hard shopping trip. Traumatized after having to get up at 5 two days in row Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/04/2022 22:04

Eek! at near-knitting-disaster. And also phew, that it was averted.

I have been gardening most of the day. One wheelbarrow is full of weeds (mostly grass) and one bed is pretty much done. That leaves another 4 beds and the vegetable patch to do Confused FMStupidlyEnormousGarden. I also taxi'd DS and filled up the car with fuel, which was good. No diesel, but there was some petrol. (Hope that Fancy got fuel and over to see FancyMan.) Washing and airing was done as well

The birds never seem bothered about hair and fluff when I put it out for them. The latest offering was DS's hair cut leftovers, but they're just sitting in a feeder being ignored (probably because they're not food). Next door's jackdaws are fine - the chimney fire was after they'd hatched their chicks and flown. I'm waiting to watch them diving down the chimney with this year's sticks.

I think everyone's had quite a good weekend though? Shopping/gardening/washing etc Grin Shame it's Monday tomorrow of course.

LetUsPrey · 11/04/2022 08:41

Morning wenches.

Hope you got some lovely things to make up for the early starts Wicked.

This is me leaving for work. Off I go. Honest.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/04/2022 09:07

Morning all. Lovely weather, and lovely lie-in until about 8am - got woken by a small bird cheeping in the manner of an alarm clock. Not that it was unreasonabley early to be woken up, it was just I hate beeping alarm clocks and bird doing an impression is not how I want to be woken up Athos etc.

This cupboard door seems to be jammed shut. What a pity.... Grin

ApricotCrush · 11/04/2022 17:38

Afternoon. Lovely day, I went a walk around the road after mini-food-shopping trip.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: WE'RE ADOPTING A..... CAT!!!! Sooooo excited! I saw her on the FB page of a local rescue centre and had to have her. I applied and we've been accepted. I haven't seen her, only one photo which they say doesn't do her justice. She's 9 years old and sadly her owner is old and ill and can no longer care for her. Sad We're going to the caravan on Wednesday for the holiday and they'll bring her some time the week after, and do a home check which I'm sure will be fine.

Grin at WW being traumatized.

Evening wenches.

That is such lovely exciting news Apricot! What a lucky cat to be adopted by you, although sad obviously re her current owner.

Chirping birds very nice and everything - nature etc - but perhaps go and do the chirping elsewhere and away from wenches trying to sleep.

Unfortunately I did have to leave the cupboard. I expected work to be totally crap and it pulled out all the stops and didn’t disappoint.

On a positive note, I’ve booked cinema tickets for me, DS1 and his girlfriend, and DS2 to see the new Fantastic Beasts film on Wednesday.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/04/2022 20:32

FFS LetUs. How can we fix your crappy job? Sad

Yay for the impending cinema trip and Apricot's impending cat though. How exciting! What does it look like?

Tonight's nature news was more deer being surprised in a field while I biked past.

In unrelated news, I'm knackered. urgh.

FancyFancy · 11/04/2022 21:36

Evening, had a nice time at FancyMan's yesterday and did get petrol yay!

Have been pottering around with FancyMan today - bit of a walk and some gardening and an exciting trip to the tip Grin Have also got him hooked on Quordle.

If anyone needs cheering up I can recommend Derry Girls, new series starts tomorrow, think on Channel 4.

Fabulous news about the cat apricot, she will have a fantastic life with you and MrA.

LetUsPrey · 12/04/2022 07:54

Morning wenches.

It would be helpful Helen if lots of —usually senior— people could stop being so bloody lazy and useless and then shunting stuff they “simply haven’t had time to do” mine and NiceColleague’s way. Might help if you hadn’t just been chatting and shrieking hilariously for an hour with another “oh so busy” colleague. That’d be a start though I’m not sure how that can be achieved. In the meantime whinging to wenches and many wenchy hugs definitely helps.

Hurrah for fuel and lovely time with FancyMan! NiceColleague raves about Derry Girls so a Wench recommendation just cements it.

FancyFancy · 12/04/2022 08:59

Morning
Back to work

You'll like it Letus - watch out for Sister Michael, a particular favourite of mine. Truly the Queen of Eyerolls Grin Oh, and the scene with the mum and the full load of washing is comedy writing genius.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/04/2022 09:29

Morning all. I went to bed with a headache last night, and got up with it this morning still. FMHeadache. Another day of tedious-beyond-belief freelance works awaits me. Though I'm hoping that I'll get the worst of it finished today, which will be a relief.

DS is out this morning being sporty and active, so I'll be off again later to retrieve him.

I keep meaning to watch Derry Girls, the clips I see always make me laugh.

ApricotCrush · 12/04/2022 18:00

Afternoon wenches. We've had DGS all day today, so I've got bugger all done. Hmm

The cat is a grey British Shorthair, and she reminds me a bit of the lovely Frasan. She has the same cute feet. I'll post a pic when we get her.

Oh LetUs I'm so sorry about work. DD is in the same situation. She also has a nice colleague with whom she job shares and they are having more and more work pushed onto them. The only thing that kept her sane was the one day a week she worked from home, but her vindictive boss has now taken that away from her because she dared to complain. Everyone else goes off sick with stress but she wouldn't do that because she cares about her team. Sad

Yay for cinema trip and walks and gardening, but boo for headache. Hope it's gone Helen.

We're going to the caravan tomorrow. The first visit is always very busy cleaning and setting stuff up and also we understand the TV aeriel blew away in one of the storms so DH has to sort that out. Confused

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 12/04/2022 19:15

Squeeeee at getting a cat Apes SmileSmile Oh, and Fräsan thinks you’re lovely too Smile

LetUsPrey · 12/04/2022 20:28

Evening wenches.

I like the sound of Sister Michael Grin. Hope work wasn’t awful.

Has the headache fucked off Helen? Sad Doesn’t sound an ideal combination with tedious work.

Oh Apricot your poor DD. Vindictive bosses are fucking dreadful. Similar re the colleagues off sick with stress but NiceColleague and I staying on. Squeeeeee at impending arrival of cat with cute Frasan feet!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/04/2022 21:59

Evening all. The headache was beaten into submission eventually. Still tired though. Have finished the bulk of the tedious job.

That's shit re. ApricotDD's boss Sad I've had bloody useless ones, but fortunately never an outright vindictive one. Squee (still) re. the cat though. Have a good break at the caravan!

LetUsPrey · 13/04/2022 08:09

Morning wenches.

Trying and failing to be sunny here.

Have a good break at the caravan Apricot, and good luck to MrApricot fixing the aerial.

Work first, then dentist, then cinema.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/04/2022 08:52

Morning All,

It's also trying to be sunny here, but the clouds look like they're winning. Sad

I am running late, haven't even eaten breakfast, and have to log on to the BoringOfficeJob. Have a good day all, and safe travels for Apricot's caravan expedition.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/04/2022 19:49

Evening all. It has been a day of playing catch-up with an email backlog. DH is out, so I should be cooking...

LetUsPrey · 13/04/2022 20:32

Evening wenches.

We had rain but then it was lovely by the time I left work. Work was work, dentist was fine, film was excellent.

DH has been struggling with back pain for quite a few days. Been to a physio. I don’t doubt he’s in a lot of pain and he does just get on with things —unlike me— but fuck me if he doesn’t stop being a grumpy sod, I will lose my shit.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/04/2022 22:58

Ouch for MrLetUs, but also FFS at grumpiness. Glad to hear the dentist went well, and the film was good. I was going to see the TB film, but discovered that the the arty cinema was showing for a week and a bit - not two weeks as I thought. So, oops. Serves me right for assuming that if it was on at the start of the week, then it was on for the whole week. DVDs are a thing, so... Grin

FancyFancy · 13/04/2022 23:36

Evening wenches. Mostly work, washing and ironing. Did watch another episode of The Man in the High Castle. Some things are less confusing, bit the sheer number of different characters and the dim lighting still make it hard to follow at times.

LetUsPrey · 14/04/2022 07:42

Morning wenches.

Sun doing its best again.

I’ve done that Helen with films. Oh it’s on for a few weeks I bet. No, no it is not.

Good that MITHC is a bit less confusing Fancy. I’m getting to the stage these days with dramas where I’d quite like everyone to be wearing name badges.

Last day this week hurrah!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/04/2022 09:08

Morning all. Nice and sunny here at the moment. (Hope that apricot is having decent weather.)

I've just seen that 'Life After Life' has been adapted for a BBC drama - the book was good but a bit complicated, so I'll be interested to see how they're making it work on TV.

Killer kitten caught another wren last night Sad I haven't told DH since he gets very grumpy about birds getting caught and last time it happened he annouced that we were never getting another cat. This is only the 3rd or 4th bird he's caught, so it's not like he's utterly decimating the local population. But still, Sad for the wren.
