Afternoon. Have done sod all today. DH has been bricklaying at DS’s. I feel guilty, but can’t do anything to help. My contribution is fund-raising for the project on eBay.

I went into town this morning. Bloody nightmare. There are road works all over the place so I had to go all round the outskirts to get to the car park. Then M&S have changed everything around and I couldn't find what I wanted. Same with Boots. I gave up in the end and decided to get what I need online. Then I went to pay at the machine and they've changed the system to vehicle recognition and I haven't used it before. By the time I'd worked it out I'd gone over the time and had to pay an extra £1. No wonder the towns are dying. Then I went to Lidl and the shelves were very depleted. No milk!!! So I had to go to Sainsbury's as we're out of it. I was glad to get home and have a sit down.

Am watching someone vaping as they walk to their car from the new local leisure centre - puffing out clouds of white vapour like a hyperventilating dragon

FancyCat seems a little better thanks, still not back to normal but some usual behaviours starting to return i.e. giving ScaredyCat the stink eye and sitting on laptop bags. Yesterday her miaows were practically silent but now she is regaining her voice - I think, hard to tell when up against ScaredyCat who can be very squawky. Can't see any obvious injuries, but it can be hard to tell under all that floof

Finished Bridgerton last night, Lord Shagger did look hot but I didn't think the chemistry was really there.

Day didn’t go quite as planned as DS2 refused to go to revision session he was booked in for at school. Was only for a few hours today. Full on episode from him - crying, coughing and nearly being sick, lots of unpleasant comments etc etc. Basically a sort of panic attack with added extras. So that rather took the shine off the day. TBH I’m not looking forward to the rest of the week that much now.

Urgh several times over at roadworks and shops and parking Apricot. They brought the number plate thing in at a town centre car park a bit ago and I’d no idea what was going on either. Luckily someone else who’d parked near me was used to it and explained it. Just as well as there weren’t any easily visible signs.

It's no consolation, but I had quite a good day, work-wise. Didn't do anything other than work though. Have been working this evening too. Tomorrow I have to go out (see 'no milk') and deliver a birthday present that I was too disorganised to post. FFS and all that.

Oh woe is me. I've got DD's cold. I've done a test, it's not covid.

I should have called it number plate recognition WW. When you pull into the car park a camera registers the time and your number plate. When you leave you put your reg no into another machine, it knows how long you've been there, and tells you how much to pay. Then when you leave the car park another camera sees your number plate and lifts the barrier. It's all done by magic! Don't you have that where you live?

Yes, NonShaggerton is disappointing. I've seen the gratuitous falling into the lake.

Oh dear LetUs. Hope today has been better and the clothes shopping was successful.

Oh no Apricot . Sick bay for you where various medically qualified HBFs will tend to your every need.

Clothes shopping was moderately successful and brief. Spoke to a pharmacist about a minor (hopefully) physical issue he has. Pharmacist wasn’t particularly forthcoming, I said what I thought it was, she said probably but go to GP. Next non-emergency appointment is beginning of May and that’s without trying to get one to fit in with school and work.
