This morning I am mostly tired, with the energy of a slug. We watched the final 'Discovery of Witches' last night which felt very much like an anticlimax. Are the books any better LetUs? But anyway, that meant in bed at midnight, and then waking up again at 6am.

I shall sit at BOJ today and gaze blankly at my screen! At least I'm WFH, so no need to look alert

Another sunny day and I already have the weekend washing planned.

I haven’t finished the latest series Helen because it differs so much from the books. So I need the mindset of “forget the books and enjoy the programme” to get going with it again. I’d say the books are better.

I suppose I should get a bit of a move on but I don’t especially want to. Still, at least it’s Friday and DS1 is home this weekend.

Afternoon. Another lovely day. I did the food shop this morning and it was most pleasant out.

DH has gone to DS's. They're having the concrete laid for the log cabin. I hope his GF's teenage boys are doing the barrowing as they promised. I'll be so glad when it's done. DH has been project managing as well as doing much of the preparation and it's been a worry for him. So many things have gone wrong.

Hail? Can't see any forecast for here, but it's definitely going colder.

I have worked and biked and am cooking tea. Someone I saw on Wedsnesday is down with Covid which is a bit of a sod since since we were in the same small meeting room together for an hour. I'll keep my fingers crossed I've avoided it.

Thought I'd posted yesterday, but clearly not. Was manic at work, and was very tired when I got home. Did at least get our pay rise letters this week, I wasn't expecting much after getting a hefty one with the promotion last summer, so was pleasantly surprised to get a reasonable one.

Did stay awake long enough to watch episode one of Bridgerton, there seemed to be more hammy acting than last series and Lord Shagger seemed to have turned into a comedic turn. Still - did get a view of his naked arse and bare chest, so there were some good bits It's still diverting, and very pretty to look at.

Watching a ball scene and recognized the song they’re dancing to, ”Dancing on my own” by Robyn

I have got gardening and polyfilla-ing done. plus two loads of washing which didn't get dry and next door smoked us out with a bloody bonfire and put fresly cut grass on it. Just... Idiot

DS1 should have been coming down tomorrow for Mother’s Day and a week or so after but his girlfriend has tested positive so he’s not coming down. Main thing is she’s not particularly ill with it so as long as she’s okay, that’s okay.

Weather's a bit miserable - cloudy and a bit dank. I think it's actually getting worse as the day progresses since I thought the cloud was burning off when I first got up. Hopefully it will improve and dry off yesterday's smoke-scented duvet cover, which is still on the line being damp

Happy Mothers day and all that. Yesterday, DH & DS asked me what I wanted to do today and I said I'd do whatever exciting treat they had planned for me. So today we are mostly doing nothing.

I hate this hour thing, I've been behind with everything all day. It takes me a week to get used to it. At least it'll be light while I'm cooking though.

The DC came round separately with flowers and cards. Poor DD has a bad throat, so sat on a wall in the drive with a mask on. Negative for covid, but this is the fourth cold she's had in as many months.

Evening all. The weather turned out to be rather lovely in the end so we had a walk - DS's concession to Mothers Day was that he came too and didn't winge about it. Plus I got some chocolate and a card. I have daffs too, but I picked them myself.
