Not been as warm today but got some washing done and sat in the back room with the door open in the afternoon.

I’ve hardly been out either today, slept in. Had a really weird dream again last night. Also been working a bit, we got extra paid this weekend since we have a lot of work.

morning all. I'm pleased to report that the dun is back again today, along with a decent frost that's iced over the bird bath as well as the grass. CuteKitten is being cute and DS is going to be late again if he doesn't get a wiggle on.

Monday can already get in the bin. Sun and frost here. DS2 being the usual. I suppose we have to get on with it though.

Evening wenches. Nice day, but I went to Lidl this morning and it started raining out of nowhere. Wasn't much.

We did the school walk this afternoon and now DH has gone to watch DGS at karate.

Oooo Helen, I must go to Dunelm for a mooch, love it there. Don't envy The Batman thing though.

The cottage sounds lovely WW.

It has been a laid back Monday again - a short walk with FancyMan then he helped me with some gardening. I want to change some of the pots on the patio, so we moved a small rose and planted some sweet peas in it's place and then moved the pot. We also sifted through the contents as I discovered bastarding vine weevil grubs in there. These were all put on the bird feeder and the local robins kindly ate them all for me

Evening all. That sounds like a nice day Fancy. I also had a rather nice day because I had my weekend lie-in this morning instead (Once DS was off to school.) Then I did the freelance thing, the taxi thing, the eating thing and then the watching-a-film thing. (We watched Glass, which was good - follow-up to Unbreakable.) Shortly I will do the bed and sleep thing.

Are you mentally planning how the cottage will look Wicked - picking colours in your head? Very exciting, even if it's taking longer than planned.

Monday is nearly done - let's finish on a high HBF (or two)...

I have been knitting all evening and have finished the second scarf/wrap. Bit tired now.

Morning. It's bright and sunny. CuteKitten has terrorised a shrew into a quivering wreck, I'm not sure if it will survive, but I've hidden it in the woodpile outside.
Today's vague plans involve work and maybe painting if there's not too much in my inbox. Plus stalking people (for work) -

We're going to the golf club Christmas do tomorrow lunchtime. It was cancelled in Decmber due to covid. Rather sadly it's the last one as the golf club has been sold and is closing in May. Most of DH's friends live south of the club and they're going to another club further south which is too far for DH to go so he's rather out on a limb. He'll probably join DS's club but they won't play together as DS plays at the weekend and DH plays in the week. End of an era...

There’s only one thing for stiff thighs Fancy. Tav stock cupboard has a variety of healing unguents available for application by HBFs.

Parents evening today for DS2. For all his struggles —and being a pain in the arse at home— he’s doing really well. All his teachers gave glowing reports of him, he’s exceeding his targets in a couple of subjects, and his confidence is growing. I might have a little happy cry.

I have worked a bit, but have been waiting for emails that didn't arrive. So the bathroom is completely finished with the painting. Now I just have to wait for it to dry and I can put it back together. Weather has been lovely here so I also did the bike ride.

Oh crikey re the new Strike book. I can’t read hardback books in the bath, they get too heavy for my weakling arms.

Work was the usual round of trying to deal with people who’ve left stuff till the last minute and/or have fucked something up and then it being shunted over for NiceColleague and I to try to sort out.

Evening, has been a bit of a busy day - working at home as both the plumber & gardener were here, so lots of interruptions. I did work late yesterday to make up some time though. Anyhoo, boiler is now hopefully ok & the garden is looking good so I'm happy, if a bit mentally tired.

That does look cosy ww - you know we'll all be expecting pics when you move in? We need our fix of tasteful Scandinavian interior decor!

Glad the Christmas lunch was good apricot - was it turkey and all the trimmings, or more seasonal? Poor you MrA re the golf club, always sad when it's the end of an era.

Yay for DS2 letus, how lovely to hear he's been doing well. Have you told him a bunch of disgraceful middle-aged women are really chuffed for him?
