What has happened to UKparents

Anyone know what has happened to UKParents - where am I going to sell my nappies now?

I know they've had a lot of problems lately. The new look site was a nightmare to me - but they have suddenly just gone!

I know they were "the other site" and perhaps its a bit tactless to raise this hear but is always sad to see something go - and it was THE BEST place to sell nappies!

God forbid anything like that should happen to mumsnet.

I just checked too, it has definitely gone. I just wanted to check to see if I'd sold something. Very strange that they've dumped the UKP name too. Hope all is OK.

Does anyone know anything?

Oooh errr! Wonder what happened? I used to buy and sell nappies there too.

I know that there was a take over recently, and someone was asked to leave as the item she made was a problem with their supporter, then lots of peeople left, to spite the new owners, then they changed the outlay and TBH I couldn't get on with it, and it seemed that many people couldn't, When I went on it the other day there was about 4 messages in General for the whole day.

I know what you mean Mieow - it was pretty horrendous wasn't it. There was no warning though. Just shows how quickly things can change. And the new site just seems to be an advert for some web company.

Imagine if mumsnet suddenly went - we'd have no way of contacting each other - it would be like loosing a whole circle of friends.

NO that would never happen!!! (it bloodly better not!!) I need mumsnet...... I would have nothing to go on the internet for (mmmmm..... my house work would get done )

maybe it was a rival site that took them over?

you know companies are like, they take over to get 'rid' of the opposition. Maybe thats what's happened

maybe. oh well, wasn't really interneted in it once it changed, only went on about twice a week, for minutes, not like here, where I pop on to have a nosy and am still here hours later!!!

I lefy skinuk because they were really unfriendly. I get more support here. I used to mod for them too, and when I wrote to explain why i was leaving, and to wish them luck they didn't even reply saying thanks. Just stopped me from logging in.

OK, I think Mumsnet needs to set up a cloth nappy buy and sell board PDQ- I've got LOADS to sell, and was scanning the cloth nappy board on UKP regularly to see if anyone wanted something I had. The cloth nappy advice was great as well.Never visited any other discussion forum, though

I've just been and had a look around, and it's very similar to the new-style UKP. There is a cloth nappy B+S board, but don't like the sudden change without any explanation, so may try flogging things here first!

Mumsnet, how about a whole new B&S board like UKP but that you have to pay to become a member of. Not anonymous as it is at the moment.

Wow it was there the other day. I couldnt get on with the new look etc, so only checked it once a week. Ah well, we still have MN - MO - NM and many more

I was going to try to sell my nappies here next time anyway on the "for sale" threads there are far more clothies on MN than there used to be so thought there might be a market for them.
