Welcome one and all to thread 168. We're still going though because, (like the HBFs) we have stamina Grin and an unending supply of double-entendres and HBFs

Evening wenches.

A very blah day at work. Why is it what should be a simple task takes bloody ages and is made 100 times more difficult because of other people? I may have just answered my own question.

Loving the bird tales, especially the mallards Smile

How’s the muscle Helen?

FancyFancy · 17/03/2021 18:47

Grin ww - I hope you have plenty of butter & black pepper to go with those

Ah yes letus, other people, wouldn't work be easier without most of them? Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/03/2021 21:01

LOL at apricot's horrified pigeons and blackbird. We had a pair of green woodpeckers looking for food this morning, and a pair of Magpies digging up the lawn for mud - apparently they use it on their nests. (Who knew.)

Hope that Fancy's midges sodded off. Bloody annoying things Sad

Yes LetUs - other people - they can cause all sorts of problems. Fortunately I've had one of those rare days when other people have all actually been helpful Shock I also managed to balance some books. Well - they don't actually balance, but I know exactly why, so that counts as 'balanced' in my book Grin

Did you boil potatoes all day Wicked? Grin (We've had pasta for tea - faster!)

We're watching Bake Off at the moment - continued from yesterday because we didn't finish it. Oh, and DH has his jab tomorrow!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/03/2021 21:03

No, not all day Helen, did lots of other boring stuff as well Smile

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/03/2021 21:37

Life is kind of boring now, the only thing exciting is if I find something good on the telly Hmm

FancyFancy · 17/03/2021 21:43

Love that you gave the mallards a paddling pool apricot Grin

That counts as balanced for me too helen - well as good as. Do you ever get excited when something doesn't balance, but you recognise the amount it doesn't balance by as an amount you saw several days earlier? No, just me? Can't remember what I had for breakfast mind......

Hmm, the owls are back....

FancyFancy · 17/03/2021 21:50

And yay for MrHelen being jabbed tomorrow - excellent news Smile

LetUsPrey · 18/03/2021 06:43

Morning wenches.

Good news re MrHelen

Finding something good to watch is indeed exciting Wicked

Work would definitely be easier if not for other people. Why can’t the other people be HBFs and wenches though? That would be so much better.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/03/2021 07:36

Morning. Obviously, if work involved HBFs and wenches, that would be good. Though a bit distracting so hard to get work done without some discipline (I believe that Gibbs can provide the latter with stern looks, and Aramis is good at being shouty - amongst other things.)

I am on yet another Sudoku. This one is 'easy' again, though I appear to have two 4s in the same square. Hmm Best start that one again... or at least do some strategic running-out.

It's grey and cloudy outside, and there are birds.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 18/03/2021 09:52

Morning
Am out of practice with sudokus - I often used to find the medium ones harder than the tough ones Confused

ApricotCrush · 18/03/2021 16:34

Afternoon.

Here are the ducks with their pool. DH gave them some steps so they could get in it easily. When the DGC came along we got rid of the koi pond and they stopped coming. Sad

Hope MrHelen's jab went well. Son-in-law is having his tomorrow and we've had a text to book our second ones. Bit confusing as they don't have both vaccines on the same day and we had different ones. Mine's on Saturday and DH's is next Thursday. Confused That only leaves poor DS, he'll have a bit of a wait I think. His OH has had hers as she's immunocompromised.

Hope everyone's had a good day and no-one's annoyed them.

DH gave them some steps so they could get in it easily aww MrApes you softy!

LetUsPrey · 18/03/2021 18:49

Evening wenches.

Ohhhhhh at MrApricot making steps for the ducks Smile. So sweet!

gosh I’ve gone a bit faint Grin

Hope MrHelen’s okay after his jab. DH appears to have no after effects from his yesterday.

I’ve got a headache that’s been rumbling away on and off for a day or so. Early night I think.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/03/2021 21:00

Aaaaawww Smile at the ducks and their very own paddling-pool-with-steps. MrA is indeed a softy.

re. the headache LetUs - I hope the headache sods off (and takes my gammy leg with it)

DH seems fine after the job, so far. All his friends and work colleagues have tales of woes from feeling ill afterwards. Everyone I know has been fine Hmm J'accuse his friends of being drama queens - or some of them.

OP posts:
WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 18/03/2021 21:21

MrA is adorable Smile

LetUsPrey · 19/03/2021 07:06

Morning wenches. Friiiddaaaaayyyyy!

Had a garbage night’s sleep and I look like I’ve been dug up but it’s Friday so I don’t care too much.

Here’s to a day of HBFs and happiness

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/03/2021 07:53

Morning. It's sunny today so everything is so much better, apart from DH who woke me up at 4am to announce that he felt really rough. But there is something rejuvenating about early morning sun.

IIR, in the Tom Cruise version of The Mummy, said female was dug up in full make-up, looking very toned and glamourous, so the HBFs won't be able to resist you LetUs. (I may be misremembering of course - she could have been a shrivelled husk until she'd drained a few people of their life Confused I'm sure you look better than that!)

Anyways, I would very much like a day of HBFs and happiness. I suspect that spreadsheets will be figuring prominently in my version of reality though. FML and all that.

There is wildlife outside of the flappy/tweety variety.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 19/03/2021 14:00

Afternoon. Sunny here too.

How's MrHelen now? Soooo many people are being jabbed today that I know of!

ApricotCrush · 19/03/2021 15:30

Afternoon wenches. Bit of a miserable day here. I've got a headache to go with it and paracetamol haven't done anything. Sad

I passed your comments about the ducks on to DH and he laughed.

Hope everyone's jabs have gone well and those who have already had them are feeling alright.

I thought we'd try Mank last night, but I'm afraid even TB couldn't save it for us, we gave up after 15 minutes. Not my kind of film at all. I can't believe it's up for 10 Oscars, including music which was horrendous. Shock

LetUsPrey · 19/03/2021 19:04

Evening wenches.

Jab done - extremely smooth operation and so well organised. It was very impressive. Feeling okay so far, although I’m feeling a bit chilly but then I feel cold when I’m tired and I am definitely tired. How are you after yours Fancy?

My lovely Simon got his jab today too according to Facebook. It’s scary how much we have in common Grin

Shrivelled husk is more accurate than you know Helen, complete with matching hair.

I know what you mean about multi Oscar nominated films Apricot. Some of the ones I’ve seen I’ve thought “it got how many?!” Hope the headache clears off soon.

I think I’ll aim for an early night.

FancyFancy · 19/03/2021 19:25

All went well thanks Letus, I only had it about 6pm so a bit early for potential side effects yet, fingers crossed for both of us! I have to say it was very slick here too - got there about 15 minutes early and was out 2 minutes after my scheduled time. Never seen so many people happy to be on a queue Grin

FancyFancy · 19/03/2021 19:25

*in

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 19/03/2021 19:58

Envy at vaccinations.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/03/2021 20:12

Evening. It's the day for headaches apparently. Sad I blame mine on glaring at screens all day and trying to do year end predictions for 9 different accounts.

MrH is knackered and his arm is sore, but otherwise he's fine thanks. Hope everyone else sails through their jabs!

I think that Mank is an acquired taste Apricot - very much a tribute to Citizen Kane and films of that style. So if you don't like those then you'd have to get past that before you have a chance of liking the film.

Also early night for me I think, via a nice hot bath'n'book.

LetUsPrey · 19/03/2021 20:15

How’s the vaccine rollout progressing where you are Wicked?

Yes, lots of happy people in a queue Fancy Grin

Oh blimey Helen, no wonder you’ve a headache
