Evening wenches. No snow! Hurrah!

FancyCat internal dialogue. Squirrels! But cold. But squirrels!

Everything crossed for DD Apricot.

Hope dinner was delicious Helen. I’m sure it was.

I’ve had a rather nice bath with a rather nice drink and a rather nice book. Watching Vera now.

LetUsPrey · 09/01/2021 09:43

Morning wenches.

Flipping cold here. DS2 is having a major strop because I’ve told him he’s coming out for a walk (told him about it many times over the last week). He’s been getting almost zero exercise because no school and no sports and it’s really showing. Excellent start to the weekend.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/01/2021 11:50

Evening. No. Morning. But nearly Afternoon Confused

Sunny and blue skies here, was a very hard frost this morning though and still cold out side. I have washing on, so when it's done I can put it on the line (and watch it freeze solid!)

DS is also not keen on the whole exercising thing here LetUs It's very tedious. He has also been told that he has to do some today. He refused to do Joe Wicks during the last lockdown and went out on bike rides with us under protest. And yet he says he wants some dumbells?! FFS.

FancyFancy · 09/01/2021 12:57

Afternoon.

DD's exercise seems to be walking to the shops Hmm

Very sunny here, and I suspect, very cold but I haven't been out to check. Will head off for a short walk later.

Fingers crossed for DD apricot & that the vaccinations get round to her soon - DSis got hers yesterday (also NHS), so in one day that was DSis & both parents done!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/01/2021 16:27

Bloody baltic here. Went out for a walk this afternoon. Got the chicken's food in a few minutes ago ad it's already freezing underfoot. Brrr.

At least DD is leaving the house Fancy? And excellent news re vaccinations.

LetUsPrey · 09/01/2021 16:50

Finally got DS2 out for a walk which I quickly regretted because it was foggy and sodding freezing. Didn’t let on though and off we went.

Good news re your parents and your sister Fancy. Hoping the over 80s in my family get done soon.

Speaking of parents, went to wave at father today and push his birthday cards through.

Just watching the end of Sing.

ApricotCrush · 09/01/2021 18:12

Evening. No further snow, but still very cold.

DD is alright for now, fingers still crossed. She's hoping to get the vaccination next week. She could have had it already but it meant travelling to an awkward-to-get-to place.

We're having ours tomorrow. Shock Shock I know there are a lot of scams going around and I won't believe it till we get there, but the GP surgery phoned and I'm sure it's genuine. We didn't think we'd get it until the end of the month at the earliest, but they're really ramping it up round here as the number of cases is rocketing. A number of surgeries have finished the over 80s.

Enjoyed the first episode of Bridgerton and Lord Shagger and will continue tonight.

Oooo Apricot that’s excellent news!

We’re watching first episode of The Serpent. It’s excellent but I suspect there may be some nightmares inbound.

LetUsPrey · 10/01/2021 10:30

Morning wenches.

More of Foyle’s War based dream mixed with scenery from The Serpent. No HBFs obviously.

Plan today is shower, walk and ironing. Living my best life Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 10/01/2021 10:46

Yay for vaccinations!

I just got back from a drive in a blizzard, so that was nice Confused

Back to work tomorrow, yuk, and I’m furloughed this week so I only work 60% Sad

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/01/2021 11:13

Morning. I thought I'd posted last night Hmm Oh well.

Excellent vaccination news apricot and hurrah for freezing foggy walks LetUs

Eek! re. blizzards Wicked - stay in and snuggle up with HBFs. Ignoring the money, furloughed is good? More lie-ins? More time for HBFs?

We have blue skies and high cloud. everything was frozen again this morning, so I recommend staying under duvets and letting the HBFs keep us warm. Grin

FancyFancy · 10/01/2021 11:42

Morning. None of yesterday's sunshine today, but no snow or ice so, yay!

Yikes to driving in a blizzard ww, best to stay in and watch faf on TV I think?

Great news re your vaccs apricot, hope it all goes smoothly. Fingers crossed for everyone else with family due them soon.

Bridgerton was diverting. Absolute tosh, but entertaining tosh - just right for a mid-winter lockdown.

ApricotCrush · 10/01/2021 17:19

Evening wenches.

We've had our jabs, yaaay! We're very grateful of course, but my goodness it was stressful. It was like a cross between a cattle market and musical chairs. Shock First we queued in a corridor about a metre wide at two-metre distances but the staff were constantly squeezing past us. Then we were in a room with about 20 other people sat on chairs which were nowhere near two-metres apart. Every time someone went in we all had to move up one chair. Huge double glass doors, but they were closed so no ventilation. We were there for about an hour. I appreciate the staff were under pressure, but they were all very snappy. Anyway, it's done but we'll be keeping our fingers crossed for the next week or so. Hmm

DH went to sleep almost as soon as Bridgerton started last night. As you say Fancy it is tosh, but just the sort of easy viewing I need at the moment.

We've got The Serpent recorded so will get onto that next.

Eeek at driving in blizzards WW, I hate that.

Evening. That's excellent news Apricot - how soon does the immunity bit kick in - a couple of weeks?

we have spent the day in the garden or the kitchen or utility room. I came into the sitting room this evening and it was 15 degrees! Shock I have lit a fire.

I have also been trying to get my father set up on Zoom. Given that I have no idea how Zoom works (and our history of wench tech fails!), you'll be completely unsurprised to hear that it hasn't been going brilliantly. I have got DH involved to try and figure it all out this evening...

We also had excitement chez SisterHelen when a neighbour's dogs were ID'd on the local Facebook page in a "where are these dogs from?" post. DH went off to alert the owners and I headed out into the fields to round them up. (aka I stood in the middle of a muddy field looking bemused and wondering where these rampaging dog were.) Needless to day, they were already home again, and very proud of themselves. Idiot dogs Grin

LetUsPrey · 10/01/2021 20:00

Driving in a blizzard - that doesn’t sound stressful at all Wicked

Entertaining diverting tosh sounds complete perfection Fancy

Hurrah for jabs Apricot!

Niece keeps making suggestions at setting my mum and dad up so they can zoom. It’s a lovely idea but oh how we laugh Grin

at the dogs

Didn’t end up having the walk but ironing’s done.

LetUsPrey · 11/01/2021 07:54

Morning wenches.

Seems an awful lot darker this morning than it has been recently. Not as cold though and this week we’re getting up to 9° at some point! And lots of rain.

Still trying to get DS2 out of bed so he can be ready to start lessons before I go.

I’d much rather be engaging in some interesting activities with HBFs.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/01/2021 08:51

Yes - dark and cloudy. DS is also not ready to start lessons yet. Have just seen a weather forecast which gives us chilly temperatures until midweek and then the forecast stopped, so it will be cold and dark an exciting mystery after that Grin I have 10 minutes to mooch online, then have to join DS at the grindstone...

ApricotCrush · 11/01/2021 16:31

Afternoon. Dark and miserable here too.

Yes Helen the jabs kick in after about a fortnight. Not that it will make any difference to what we're doing, but it will give some peace of mind. It won't give total immunity anyway, but I believe it would lessen the severity if we caught it.

Grin at rounding up missing dogs who were already at home.

DH did zoom calls with the golfers in the first lockdown. They spent the first half an hour saying 'I can't see/hear you, can you see/hear me?' etc. They haven't bothered this time. I've no idea how it works.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 11/01/2021 18:08

Snowing like crazy here Confused

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 11/01/2021 18:10

Grin at MrApes’s zoom calls.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/01/2021 19:21

I have successfully been on a Zoom call with my father. Admittedly, we were in the same room and wincing at the feedback, and probably sounded similar to MrA and friends. But it worked. Hurrah!!!

No snow.here

LetUsPrey · 11/01/2021 20:39

Evening wenches.

Don’t think it got properly light here today.

Eek at you having snow Wicked. You tend to get snow don’t you?

That sounds like some of the people —younger than me— at my work Apricot with the Zoom or Teams calls Grin

🤞🏻that’s your dad sorted with his Zoom Helen.

I’m deciding whether or not to have a bath.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/01/2021 20:49

I need to wash my hair... (control your excitement!)

LetUsPrey · 11/01/2021 21:29

Perhaps Athos could give you a deep conditioning treatment ?

FancyFancy · 11/01/2021 23:43

Evening
Another day of no snow and ice and lots of birds on the bird feeder
Went for a walk with FancyMan today, was surprisingly warm and unsurprisingly muddy.

Am missing Bridgerton already - roll on series 2
