Morning Afternoon. Sunshine and heavy showers here, and general feeling of 'can't be arsed'.
DS' sleep pattern is completely shot - he's sleeping in later, but then not being able to get to sleep at a sensible hour. Sad It's been after 11pm for at least a week and was gone midnight later night. At least we're doing the home schooling think from tomorrow, so he can ease back into earlier mornings.

Cats are quite happy to eat turkey leftovers (cooked!) Hmm

FancyFancy · 03/01/2021 14:03

Afternoon, lovely and sunny here, so did a bit of tidying up in the garden. Now warming up inside, blimey it's cold out there!

I wish FancyCat were more picky tbh, she will eat anything - all meat, cheese, hummus, licks all plates in the dishwasher and practically tries to get in your bowl if you're eating yoghurt, custard or ice cream. I once caught her licking an unattended biscuit Hmm

ApricotCrush · 03/01/2021 16:22

Afternoon. No more snow, but very cold.

Nothing much done here.

Our rabbit used to love biscuits. If you opened the tin in front of her she would grab one and run off with it. Hmm

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/01/2021 17:56

Fancy - I'll see your unattended biscuits and raise you unexpected interest in bird food I'm not sure if he'd have eaten any, but he was very interested before I removed it from his nose Hmm Idiotic animals...

How's the ironing going LetUs? I got out into the garden for a bit - my exciting new bilge water pump that arrived yesterday couldn't cope with pumping up the water from my down-pipe hole so I bailed it out by hand again and dug far enough down to be sure that it really isn't connected to anything at all. So now I need to remove the pointless down pipe and fill the hole in again before someone falls into it or one of us reverses into it Confused

Apart from that we have been tidying and trying to work out what plastic tat will go in the recycling and which won't. Be still my beating heart, etc.

DH is 'dreading' work tomorrow Sad DS is probably looking forward to homeschooling as much as I am at the moment.

LetUsPrey · 03/01/2021 17:56

Oh MiniHelen Sad he’ll get back on track soon enough.

Loving these tales of pets being sneaky with human food Grin, particularly the rabbit making a run for it with a biscuit.

Have washed and ironed and sorted DS2’s clothes. He barely has any clothes left as everything is too small —because the lack of exercise has caught up with him—. Sigh. Have told DH we need to knuckle down with what DS2 eats and I’ll get him to go out for walks with me. His response was “good luck with that”. Thanks for your support.

Football now and darts later. Had wanted to start watching The Serpent that started last night I think but I’ll probably have a bath instead.

FancyFancy · 03/01/2021 18:21

Bird food?! The daft bugger Grin

Love the sound of that rabbit too!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 03/01/2021 18:25

Sigrid used to be very interested when I ate chicken, she almost sat on the plate ❤️

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 03/01/2021 18:34

Oh, and Corinne used to love crackers made of corn that were a bit spicy Grin

LetUsPrey · 04/01/2021 07:04

Morning wenches.

What’s the next step with the Mystery of the Downpipe Helen?

I bet the cats would be very willing to share their food too Grin

Need to be getting up. Am a bit bored of having niggly dreams. Nothing nightmarish or very stressy, just a bit stressy. And then I wake up feeling fed up. Ah well, can’t do anything other than give myself a bit of a shake .

Shower beckons, although I doubt there’ll be an HBF in it so I’m not rushing.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/01/2021 10:36

Morning all.

We all slept in - DS slept through his alarm, I forgot to get breakfast stuff ready last night, and I stayed up absolutely stupid late watching TV/reading ("I'll just finish this book - Oh, there are four more chapters than I realised") and then couldn't get to sleep - it was at least 1:45am. FFS at my own idiocy. So Idid get DS online at 9am, but it was a bit of a rush.

Niggly dreams can FRO. I've been having a few, but they're not too bad.

Plans with the Mystery of the Downpipe involve buying a water butt to act as a sump/buffer, and connecting it copious amounts of piping (also to be bought) so the rainwater can be diverted (digging will be required) into an actual ditch without the pipe getting blocked on route. Hmm It's a plan, but we need to actually doooooooo iiiiiiiiitttttt.

Hope that everyone has a good day, I am wading through my inbox and dealing with stuff that's been sitting waiting for me for the best part of 2 weeks. I also need to retrieved DS from the x-box, where he is currently 'on a break'. Thus far this morning I he has been learning about synthetic vs natural fibres.. (I thought it was quite interesting actually.)

ApricotCrush · 04/01/2021 16:39

Afternoon. The snow's nearly gone but still very cold.

I really ought to have a look at the washing basket, can't remember when I last put a load on. There's also a pile of ironing from before Christmas which I cant seem to get going with. Hmm

We haven't removed any of the Christmas stuff yet, will probably do that tomorrow, although I always think everywhere looks bare without it.

Your water system thingies are fascinating Helen. I had no idea any of that existed.

FancyFancy · 04/01/2021 18:37

Afternoon - have been out walking with FancyMan & then making soup.

Bridgerton is helping me get through the ironing apricot - pretty to look at & very little plot to speak of Grin

New lockdown project helen - a Heath Robinson inspired piping arrangement?

LetUsPrey · 04/01/2021 19:20

Evening wenches.

Oh been there done that Helen - I’ll just finish this book. Whoops there’s a bit more left than I thought. I’m very impressed with your pipe and water butt fixing together knowledge.

Oh yes, must get the tree down. Meant to take the cards down last night but forgot. Sod it, I’ll do it tomorrow.

Pretty to look at and no plot sounds right up my street Fancy Grin

Online GP thing was up and running today so I sent in an enquiry. GP left a message to say he’ll send something for me to have blood tests. My suspicion particularly re my knee is arthritis. We shall see.

Plan tonight is have a bath and not much else.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/01/2021 21:16

Evening.

I already have a Heath Robinson inspired piping arrangement Fancy - I need a more permanent solution!

I did washing today Apricot - I even hung out about 5 things - then looked at the speed that the dirty-grey clouds were rolling in at, and brought it all straight back in.

We really need to start de-decorating the house as well, and speaking of decorating (different type), I hope that the new lockdown doesn't stop our roof being replaced Confused

LetUsPrey · 05/01/2021 07:15

Morning wenches.

🤞🏻re getting the roof work done Helen.

Couldn’t get to sleep for about two hours after I came to bed last night so I’m proper tired this morning.

Better get up and get going

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/01/2021 08:59

Ohhh Sad

Maybe they'll furlough you again LetUs?

It's cloudy, chilly and wet. Hoorah. not. FFS and 9am - need to get DS off the x-box and in front of the laptop. Argh........

FancyFancy · 05/01/2021 11:11

Morning
Working from home today, not feeling very enthusiastic tbh! looks like the sun is trying to come out so hoping some brightness will help me feel more energised.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/01/2021 16:44

Evening. It's dark again, already. It never really felt light today tbh.

In small achievements, I have remembered to book Inconvenient Cat into the vets for a check-up next week.

Work has been busy again, and I'm tried. I'm NOT staying up late tonight. Off to bed at the same time as DS. Though he's still taking forever to get to sleep, and the lying in in the mornings because he's tired.

ApricotCrush · 05/01/2021 16:45

Afternoon. Lovely sunny morning, quite spring-like. Smile

We didn't get round to the Christmas decs as DH has spent most of the day trying to sort out why we've been charged twice for the Netflix subscription, on both the credit card and the VirginMedia bill, and that was for the Premium service which we didn't ask for. Why can no-one get anything right? Angry

I did a washload at last, but it all went into the tumbler.

Just had a Sainsbury's delivery, the first since the summer. Cases are raging here, and I don't feel safe in the shops again. Sad

I'll have a look for Bridgerton Fancy.

ApricotCrush · 05/01/2021 16:47

Oh, hello Helen, no posts since 11-ish then we post together. Hmm

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 05/01/2021 20:11

Cancelled Netflix but now I discovered Cobra Kai, it’s about Daniel and Johnny, the opponents from Karate Kid, who are middleaged now. The guy who plays Johnny is awesome. It’s quite good actually, both funny and serious. Laughed a lot during the first ep.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/01/2021 20:37

It's very odd like that Apricot - the number of times that no-one posts for ages, then a cross post. Grin

I remember reading about that Wicked - it started out as a fan-based thing on YouTube and they have loads of the original cast in it now? Sounded good.

I have a bit of a headache...

LetUsPrey · 05/01/2021 21:12

Evening wenches.

Can’t see a furlough situation I don’t think but at this point - bizarrely - I’d rather be working.

We actually had a bit of brightness today too.

Hope you get the Netflix thing sorted Apricot. It’s sounds very frustrating.

All the Christmas decorations are down and packed away. Just waiting to see in about March what the random missed decoration will be this year.

Not heard of the Cobra Kai thing. Sounds fun!

My back/hip is bloody killing me and paracetamol doesn’t seem to do anything. Going to have to dig out the exercises the physio gave me and see if they help.

DS2 starts back tomorrow so we’ve got it all set up at the dining table for him.

Hope you get your early night Helen.

FancyFancy · 05/01/2021 21:13

Bridgerton is Netflix apricot - so you'll be able to see it. Twice Grin hope the payments thing gets sorted, very annoying when that stuff happens.

LetUsPrey · 06/01/2021 07:23

Morning wenches.

Is Bridgerton still as entertaining as at the beginning Fancy?

Slept a bit better. Remembered that we’d changed pillows a couple of days ago to some brand new ones. Changed back to the previous one last night and lo and behold my back/hip isn’t anywhere near as painful! Hurrah! Of course it may be a coincidence and it’ll be sore again by lunchtime but 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

DS2 is up and dressed and keen to hurtle through do his schoolwork so he can get back on his games really learn stuff. Obviously happy he’s doing it all but I wish he’d take a bit more care with it. Flipping heck, I’m never happy am I?
