I feel so let down (pics included)

I feel so let down happened twice. I got my garden decked a few weeks ago I paid £250 for this guy to do it (side job) he does normally do this type of work though. I paid him £250 and paid £600 for the wood. It was so bad I asked him for £100 back to try and improve it. It’s not just the £250
It’s the £600 product ruined. (See pics) After a week of lies and false promises he’s not gave us the £100 thinks I was born yesterday. Feel so frustrated with the lies more then the money now.

Second let down. (Hairdresser) had the same hairdresser for a few years but she moved miles away so decided to go local to a small business she charged me £75 for a full head of highlights I paid £65 with last hairdressers but was happy to pay more to be happy with my hair. I know it’s a small amount in some places but £50/80 is about the going rate. Anyway I hate my hair it’s green/brassy the root has bled it’s bad tied up as well as down. She replied...
I'll have a look on thursday the only other option is I could put a couple of foils in but you would have to go home with them in and wash it off yourself I'm literally working every day until 7.30 mostly and I'm full until september now ither than the 13th x

Maybe hard to tell but it’s horrid and root has bled so brassy and green feels so frustrated.

Sorry but your hair looks awful, you have demarcation lines/blocky banding. She definitely rushed your hair! How did you pay her?

The decking looks very sloppy. It’s unfortunate as it seems like the whole thing will need to be redone to fix it. Again, how did you pay?

I can see what you mean about the decking. I would be asking for a partial refund every day until you get it. I wouldn't be happy with that standard of work..

Now, your hair...I don't know what to say, she must have been colour blind maybe ? on a more serious note, I wouldn't be happy with that either. I'd see that as a waste of money.

With the hair, I would ask for a refund if she can’t accommodate you. By September you’d already be due to get your roots done!

If you paid for either via card (debit or credit) you can actually open a dispute for services not as described or carried out without reasonable care/skill and get your money back. If you paid via credit card you can alternatively open a section 75 chargeback as your bank is equally liable, you can also claim for reasonable losses eg if you incur further costs to fix the decking or by going to another salon.

Paying by cash makes things more difficult, you can take them to court though. It’s fairly straightforward with a money claim online form

I feel like if you sent me home with foils in it could be worse as I wouldn’t know what to take them out and it may bleed again. I think for £75 I would expect it to be spot on I’m so disappointed the more I think about it. X

@fornowmaybe yeah pink gin I had a few too many on Saturday to try and get over my hair 🤣. My dh said it looks worse then before. He never comments normally.

Iv asked her for a refund of at least £50 and sent her my PayPal details I hope I don’t get a nasty reply tomorrow can’t deal with it. I’m too nice to people because I don’t like upsetting anyone and any nasty come backs makes me feel like a bad person so I avoid.

Hate confrontation. Hand on heart I’m loyal and honest I don’t take the piss if she was like oh sorry Iv made a mistake I will make sure I fit you in I would 100% go back and respect her X

With the dodgy decking guy, leave plenty of reviews online and try to source his details to take him to court. He ruined £600 worth of materials - a court may find him liable for the cost. Perhaps contact a solicitor for a free consultation for pointers on your next steps as you have a good case.

With the hair, if she won’t refund screenshot every message and contact your bank to open a dispute. The dispute is fairly straightforward as your issue is clear, just supply your bank with the screenshots and photos! I am confident your bank will give you the money back, it will be sorted within a month. Perhaps even email other salons with photos and ask for a quote to rectify it, as further proof there’s an issue. It will probably cost more than £75 to fix though

It might even be cheaper if you wait a few weeks for your roots to grow in - then you can get regrowth highlights done as normal. Because it will be a “colour correction” service now and they’ll charge extra as it’s tricky to sort

Iv messaged my old hairdressers and I actually messaged a girl I used to go to when I was a teenager for her opinion! (Between us I knew she used to work with this girl in question) I showed her the pics and she was horrified she asked me which salon and when I told her she was like no way I used to train with her. I played dumb 🤣

So Iv got all the screen shots! Iv been so un lucky.

Haha thanks! I’m neither, just had an equally shit hair appointment too so I did my research! They ruined both the colour and cut and I paid £200 for the pleasure😊 so I feel your pain

They are both tacking the piss OP. There's cowboys everywhere taking the mick Call them out on it, nobody wants a bad local review. Hope you get it both things sorted.
