I feel so let down happened twice. I got my garden decked a few weeks ago I paid £250 for this guy to do it (side job) he does normally do this type of work though. I paid him £250 and paid £600 for the wood. It was so bad I asked him for £100 back to try and improve it. It’s not just the £250
It’s the £600 product ruined. (See pics) After a week of lies and false promises he’s not gave us the £100 thinks I was born yesterday. Feel so frustrated with the lies more then the money now.

Second let down. (Hairdresser) had the same hairdresser for a few years but she moved miles away so decided to go local to a small business she charged me £75 for a full head of highlights I paid £65 with last hairdressers but was happy to pay more to be happy with my hair. I know it’s a small amount in some places but £50/80 is about the going rate. Anyway I hate my hair it’s green/brassy the root has bled it’s bad tied up as well as down. She replied...
I'll have a look on thursday the only other option is I could put a couple of foils in but you would have to go home with them in and wash it off yourself I'm literally working every day until 7.30 mostly and I'm full until september now ither than the 13th x

Opinions please?? Have I just had bad luck 😨🤦‍♀️

Och, that's rubbish. I feel for you. It's particularly bad that it was two things that went wrong at once. Hate it when that happens ThanksWine

Lifeisconfusing · 29/07/2020 22:26

@nannymags classy is my favourite word 🤣

@eatsleepread yeah couldn’t sleep last night over thinking. I hate complaining because I always think they turn it round to be my issue or my fault and it makes me feel worse I hate upsetting people but seem to let people get away with upsetting me I think I have fear of rejection when I really think about it

Add to the things wrong with that decking: the corners where the Line shape is created needed mitering.

Oh ffs😂 this is why she offered a full refund so quickly! There’s no excuse for that, she knows you have a strong case against her🤷🏼‍♀️
Lifeisconfusing · 29/07/2020 22:41

@LaLaLandIsNoFun can’t believe anyone would say that it’s looks fine the boards are all over the shop and I thought I was going to sink it’s wasn’t firm at all. It’s too high as well but That’s another story. Sorted out now though will update with a pic Tom

Unfortunately with the decking I feel you may have got what you paid for - I had a smaller section decked last year and it cost upwards of £1500 I know it's not helpful not but sometimes getting a cheap job doesn't pay off

Lifeisconfusing · 29/07/2020 22:43

@Hairthrowaway you reckon??? I had put I want at least £50 refunded and she put £75 in my account so she must think it was a shit job.

I’m too nice I wrote this to her along with all my horrid pics....

Thanks just showing you these pics so you know I’m not just being a nightmare customer it’s genuinely bad, I think you’ve just rushed it as your so busy and need to get the next person in. I’m sure you do a great job usually.

Mangofandangoo · 29/07/2020 22:43

That isn't to say you shouldn't be entitled to some money back though if he's not done it to the standard you agreed

nannymags · 29/07/2020 22:43

Of course. It’s true.

Wish you luck with your normal hairdresser , I’m sure she will set you back on path t o your better colour.

Post pics on here with the updated colour?!

Lifeisconfusing · 29/07/2020 22:44

@Mangofandangoo I paid £850 altogether for mine x

Why do we feel like we have to justify and placate people when we complain to them?! But you spoke up for yourself that’s brilliant!

Lifeisconfusing · 29/07/2020 22:45

@Mangofandangoo Iv given up trying to get money of him I needed closure so I left it. We have rectified it all now took boards up and put them back properly and we have painted it today looks lovely will post pics too c

Sometimes it's too stressful to carry on chasing people as it'll do you more harm than good. Glad to hear you're now enjoying it after it's been painted

Lifeisconfusing · 29/07/2020 22:47

@nannymags Thankyou I find it so hard I love to support local businesses etc.

Lifeisconfusing · 29/07/2020 22:50

I think if it was my business I would actually admit I had made a mistake! I would then go above and beyond to get the trust back and rectify the problem so that the customer feels they haven’t been fobbed off and the customer would respect that more perhaps

thesunwillout · 29/07/2020 22:58

I just think with those precision lines of highlight, she would be good at decking.
I mean what the hell !

Glad you're in a better frame of mind, when things like this happen it can really gnaw away.

Onwards!

Lifeisconfusing · 29/07/2020 22:59

@thesunwillout🤣

Thankyou I do feel better today but yesterday the world was against me 🤦‍♀️

Shadowboy · 29/07/2020 23:15

£250 to do decking is very cheap in my part of the world (midlands)- we had a quote to deck 3m x 2.5m and it came in at over £2k and a weeks worth of work. I think you got what you paid for sadly.

The hair though!! I would be livid and gutted at the same time.

Lifeisconfusing · 30/07/2020 17:17

@Hairthrowaway
What a difference a day makes Iv and my hair sorted by my original hairdresser. She said next time it will be better again. It’s sooo much better and the decking is secure painted and looking fab now.
