Afternoon. Another lovely day.

Grin at your rant LetUs, yes, totally agree.

The Merry Widow has had a lot of work done since her partner died, including a huge summer house with hot tub, bar and the sound system which drove us mad yesterday, so I shouldn't cast aspersions, but she does seem very flirty with the men.

She certainly knows how to push the boat out. What I thought was a bouncy castle was in fact an inflatable pub. Shock Shock Never has my flabber been so gasted! I didn't know that this was a thing until I started to look online. Anyway, they were being noisy in it until after we went to bed at 11 o'clock, although the music toned down at 9. God knows how many people were there, although at one time there were 10 cars outside. Angry

Re the flytrap, not yet LetUs, but I will be aware. Grin The fly situation got worse, no idea where they were coming from. DH resorted to attacking them with kitchen spray. It seems better today.

I'll have a look at those videos Fancy.

Yes, last of Strike. Sad

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/09/2020 19:17

Bonsoir wenches. Parlez-vouz Franglais LetUs? C'est le language de les HBFs (quand ils n'ont pas speaking Spanish, ou English ou any other actual language)

Inflatable bar?!?!? Shock Who knew such things existed? I've discovered a stash of dead flies on one of our windowsills - shall I scoop them up and post them to your flytrap Apricot? Grin

I've also had washing on, and seem to have spent a lot of time in the kitchen (apple and custard meringue pie for pudding tonight - it had better be good, given how long it's taken to make).

That looks like a suitable channel for DS to watch on YouTube Fancy - and DS likes Sudokos...

Wonder when I'll watch Strike Hmm Can bet it won't be tonight...

Shock who knew that was a thing apricot? Are you or MrA good at darts? Maybe you can sprinkle all the dead flies in the hot tub

FancyFancy · 13/09/2020 21:14

Those videos are nerdtastic Grin quite good for picking up solving tips.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/09/2020 21:28

Sound system could be taken out by a stray jet of water from a garden hose?

LetUsPrey · 13/09/2020 21:29

Some sort of accidental, very individualised power cut for the sound system? That’s definitely a good use for the dead flies. And FFS at inflatable bar.

Oui je parle un peu the Franglais Helen. J’aime very much l’idée que les HBFs can bring moi les drinks et parle le French ou l’Espagnol ou anything they like.

I’m watching Midsomer Murders and doing my jigsaw. We’ll probably be watching Strike tonight.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 13/09/2020 21:49

Inflatable bar???? Shock

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/09/2020 22:13

Bath/hayloft are calling... night all.

FancyFancy · 13/09/2020 23:03

BBC2 Live at Home has just had The Killers on letus Grin

LetUsPrey · 13/09/2020 23:28

I may have seen that Fancy Grin. And recorded it, and downloaded their full set off iPlayer. And I’ve got it on BBC Sounds so I can listen in the car - not sure how wise that will be. Brandon was looking as delicious as ever.

Night Helen - may Athos fill your dreams and anything else

We’ve watched Strike. Excellent.

Hayloft for me also.

LetUsPrey · 14/09/2020 08:27

Morning wenches.

Sunny day here. I should be getting my shoes on and getting in the car to go to work, not sitting here in my slippers not going to work. Sigh. I’ve got to go haven’t I?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/09/2020 09:25

Nothing to see up there. Nope, completely empty. Not even any hay, I've cleaned it all out and haven't broken up the new bale yet. Nope. No point in looking up there.

Also sunny here. I am feeling deeply apathetic about anything (apart from HBFs of course) but I do need to go to the dentist this morning. And deal with the mountain of plums in the fridge before they moulder into slimy ooze.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/09/2020 12:30

Oooooooooo! I only went and got a filling!!! Hurrah! Wasn't expecting that at all from what they'd said before. Behold, the holey tooth is no more (well, it is, but it's whole, not holey) How odd - I've just noticed that whole and hole are one letter apart and mean opposites.

Back to the kitchen for me...

FancyFancy · 14/09/2020 15:27

Yay for the filling, you must be relieved!

ApricotCrush · 14/09/2020 17:34

Afternoon.

Beautiful day. DD is on annual leave and is having their decking relaid or something, so she came round here for some socially-distanced sunbathing.

Thank you, but we don't need any dead flies Helen, Venus is full. Oh, and very well done on the filling.

Grin at the ways to take out the sound system.

Strike was lovely. Plot, what plot? Grin

LetUsPrey · 14/09/2020 19:29

Evening wenches.

I have definitely been to work and not in the hayloft all day I mean, oh look, I’ve just noticed there’s no hay up there and I absolutely did not know that.

Hurrah for the filling Helen! That’s fab news that you are dentally whole and not holey.

What a lovely way to spend your day Apricot Smile

I’ve done the work thing and the exercisething. Was supposed to also take DS1 shopping but I’ve postponed that to tomorrow evening.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/09/2020 20:01

Ooh, Cormoran saying fuck Grin

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 14/09/2020 20:04

Grin Wicked. We’re easily pleased. Like when Brandon introduced “Johnny Fucking Marr” at Glastonbury and I made a little happy noise.

I am unattractively smelly after my exercisething and should get in the shower. Bit tired though.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/09/2020 20:27

And Mary Bennet is in the episode Smile

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/09/2020 20:33

Yay, Cormoran, phwooar Grin

LetUsPrey · 14/09/2020 20:36

I totally didn’t recognise her!

I think my backside is welded to the settee. Perhaps I should pretend —as usual— that there’s an HBF in the shower.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/09/2020 20:47

Maybe have a bath instead LetUs?

Didn't do any exercise today, but processed lots of fruit and veg. I'm sure the HBFs would be impressed.

I'll try to watch Strike tomorrow night, we're watching a Lucy Worsley thing just now.

LetUsPrey · 14/09/2020 21:13

Well done on the fruit and veg processing Helen. You don’t want oozing plums.

Is the Lucy Worsley thing about Queen Anne? I watched most of that and recorded the rest. Really enjoyed it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/09/2020 21:28

It was the last one in the USA series LetUs, because DH had recorded it and DS was also interested. I thought the Queen Anne one looked interesting but... lack of time etc.

Will you be needing towels? Dustin says you can borrow his, since he's not using it.

Swagger Inn thread 166 - where the forrin one tries to come up with a witty title but fails
LetUsPrey · 14/09/2020 22:38

The Royal History Biggest Fibs - I think that’s what it’s called - is on iPlayer. The USA one sounds good.

You look like you’ve got more than one towel there Dustin so you may as well join me as there’s plenty of towels.
