Here's on of 17 square meters.

Oh, you have to see this one, 24 square meters, asking price almost 2,6 million SEK. It's because the building is so special, the king himself lived in an apartment here when he was crown prince and studied in Uppsala.

Ah - yes. That size apartment would be a 'bedsit' here (makes more sense now, and probably would have if I'd properly tried to sit down and work out proportions instead of just thinking 'Bloody hell that sounds small for a flat'). Fingers crossed on the cottage - and him getting on with renovating it!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 25/08/2020 14:40

Oh, I see, we just call them apartments/flats here.

LittleSis has just sold her flat. I wonder what their measurements are? Might see if it’s still on Rightmove.

DS1 phoned his preferred university just to check the position as emails were being sent from yesterday following them receiving the updated grades. He’s not got a place with them. He does have a place with another excellent university but he’s super disappointed. He can have extra chips tonight from the chippy.

ApricotCrush · 25/08/2020 18:19

Evening. Rain, rain, rain here.

No LetUs, Matthew Macfadyen was in The Last Kingdom. Similar theme, but from the English point of view rather than the Norsemen. I would love to catch up with that too, but it's on Netflix. Sad

The Amazon Prime was a trial, but when it came to the end DH left it so we're paying monthly now.

Shame about the cottages that fell through WW, but the one in the grounds looks as if it would be lovely when renovated.

Sorry about DS1 LetUs. Sad

LetUsPrey · 25/08/2020 18:36

Ahhhhh yes, I thought when I was asking that MM and Vikings didn’t sound right. Of course, I could have just looked it up Blush. No Netflix here either which means I’m missing Lucifer.

He’ll be alright and he’s going to a great university. It’ll be lists and purchasing a-go-go once we get back home, and I’ve no doubt my anxiety can increase nicely.

Went to the chippy close to where we’re staying. I know wenches aren’t used to saying “I’ve had better” but I’ve had better.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 25/08/2020 19:27

Didn't know you could fail with fish and chips Letus. Except the one time at a pub in Sweden which tried to be posh and only served a tiny portion Angry We don't have chippies here, you could only get it at pubs at around 16-17£.

Sorry DS1 is dissapointed Letus Sad

LetUsPrey · 25/08/2020 21:24

Neither did I Wicked, until now. Fish wasn’t too bad but the batter was meh, and the chips were not great.

DS1 doesn’t feel too bad now. This has probably been helped by us playing lots of football quizzes. This is going the extra mile for parenting as far as I’m concerned —although I had to make sure I didn’t say phwoar every time Cantona was mentioned—

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/08/2020 22:25

Oh now - I've had bad fish and chips before now - soggy chips and batter. Yuck.

at the PreferredUniversity Angry

Wenches, it is blowing a quite terrifying hooley out there. I dread to think how the Cornish campers are getting on Shock (They may actually have landed here now, still in their tents.) The only plus side was the some items of washing went on the line for 15 minutes to dry them off, before I bought them in to finish drying with no risk of them being blown next door. Didn't have any rain this afternoon - just wind.

Ooooh - rain. Never mind Fancy and her compost temperature - I have a rain gauge to obsess over! Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/08/2020 22:38

Also, parenting Star for the football quizzes. And restraining yourself over football FAF.

LetUsPrey · 25/08/2020 22:41

Ooooo at rain gauge!

I’m such a saint mmhmm.

Another earlyish start tomorrow so I’d better head to the hayloft.

LetUsPrey · 26/08/2020 09:35

Morning wenches.

Raining again but the forecast is better for where we’re heading on our day trip once everyone decided to get up and get ready

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/08/2020 12:05

FFS, I wrote this at 7:30 and didn't hit send. FML.

Have done the chores, am a bit windswept. I really Can't be arsed with work today, which is unfortunate since it's a work day, and I should really get dressed and logged on. Wonder if I can get away with a PJ day. (Probably not - I'll get an impromptu video call and get caught out.)

Am looking forward to reports of ice cream shops, so I can live vicariously Grin

In other news - oh dear god the windfalls.... I'm going to be processing fruit for ever... It's nice to get a good crop and all, but... Confused

FancyFancy · 26/08/2020 13:23

Planning an evening of Lucifer watching on Friday Smile

Sad for your DS Letus, hopefully his disappointment will pass when he's settled in.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/08/2020 14:19

We had 5mm yesterday from about 8am. Not exactly biblical floods Grin I should have got a windspeed monitor, given the current weather!

ApricotCrush · 26/08/2020 16:55

Afternoon. It's been quite a pleasant day today. DS & Co. are at the caravan, they thought they were going to take off yesterday. Shock

The rain gauge sounds interesting. We usually tell how much rain we've had by the water butt, i.e. not much, a lot, God it's overflowing! Grin

I've discovered we're watching the wrong season of Vikings, I thought it didn't follow on very well. Confused Apparently season 5 was in two parts of 10 episodes each, and we should be on part 2. Never mind, more to watch, it really is very good.

LetUsPrey · 26/08/2020 18:05

Evening wenches.

Grin at Apricot’s rain gauge. Hope DS&Co are okay. We might give Vikings a go when we’re back home.

What are your plans for the windfall Helen?

You’re completely right Fancy. Also, what time shall I be round on Friday? Grin

Day turned out okay after an epically shit morning because even at the ages they are the DC can’t sit in the back of a car without one of them whinging “you’re taking some of my space” and then it escalating from there. Got the ferry to a little island but missed the bus so we set off for a walk. The rain instead of going away, got even heavier. Everyone’s looking at me expecting me to come up with a solution as to what we could do. Was I the only one with a phone with internet? No I was not but as per bloody usual it’s up to me to sort out a new plan. Got an earlier ferry back and managed to change the reservation for food. Anyway, food was excellent and the ice cream whilst not quite 32 flavours on offer Hmm was delicious.

Been for a walk with DH and now plan to do not much for the rest of the day.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/08/2020 19:12

Not 32 flavours on offer Letus? WTF Angry

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/08/2020 20:51

Ah LetUs - the joys of being an all-knowing Oracle (who is only listened to when it is convenient for others to avoid thinking for themselves) Hmm

LOL at the Vikings and accidentally missing half a series Apricot. We have water butts too, but you can't see how much water is in them, or be obsessively precise about the amount of rain.

The windfalls are gently rotting in the house now, instead of outside Hmm They'll be stewed up/jammed/crumbled etc. I am not overwhelmed with enthusiasm for the process.

LetUsPrey · 26/08/2020 21:46

The flavours I had were jolly delicious but still

Yes, I’m picking up a vibe that you’re not all that enthused about stewing/jamming/crumbling Helen.

LetUsPrey · 27/08/2020 09:43

Morning wenches.

Bit ho hum today. Been trying since yesterday to get through to nearby attraction that I want to go to on my own but obviously they’re only letting a certain number of people in at a time. First admission time is 10am which I’d prefer. Tried again this morning but message comes on saying it opens at 10 so please leave a message. Bit late now anyway to get there for opening on the off chance so I’ll have to see if 11 is free and if not, not bother because we’re going home today. First world problems and all that.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/08/2020 10:36

Oh that's just annoying. at people not answering phones. Hope you managed to get there before you head off again.

I had a lazy start to the day, but have no excuse not to get on and do stuff around the house

LetUsPrey · 27/08/2020 13:13

Got there in the end and it was lovely and peaceful. Walked back afterwards through some woods in the park. Was raining quite heavily by then but it didn’t bother me as it was just nice to get some time alone.
